Well... this certainly was interesting. I thought this sounded like something my oldest kid would like, but with the very adult content in here I'm gonna give that a hard pass for her. Having said that, I wish this book had said it was adult or "new adult" because I was surprised by what I did read. It's a decent book, but nothing I'd likely read again.

The story is told in two parts, but it was somehow very difficult to me to finish even the first one. Something in the narrative didn't succeed to grab my attention and focus. The narrative pays quite a lot of attention to the action, not enough on the dialogue between the characters, which on the second hand feels way too simple with swearing, which also feels quite out of place at many places. The mix between fantasy, sci-fi and manga themes is indeed quite interesting, but there's not enough character development in it. I guess this would make better action animated series than a book.
