Bewitch The Darkness is Ivy Alexandra's latest Guardians Of Eternity book. While you can read it as a standalone book, reading the books that come before this one will greatly enrich your reading experience.

I love Ivy Alexandra's writing and this series in particular. I always find myself in Reader's Trance (that experience where you are so involved in the story that you don't notice daily life passing by) with her books and I'm never mad about it.

I really enjoyed reading about Locke and Kyi's story. It has everything your modern reader needs. There is danger, people tricked into believing a lie, a fated love, danger avoided, daring rescues and the best dialogue. The story is engaging, the worldbuilding is really good, and the pace of the story is excellent.

Thank you Kensington Books and NetGalley for sending me this book in return for my honest review.

The fascination I developed for this series long ago has yet to fail as the series continues to twist and turn in new and unexpected directions. In this newest addition of the Guardians of Eternity series Alexandra Ivy takes on a journey of two people that have been enemies for centuries, though neither of them realized they were played by their true enemy. This series has become increasingly complicated and while each story can be read as a stand alone, I honestly don’t recommend that as you will feel a little bit lost along the way. Kyi has finally decided to take the step to leave the safety of her dryad woodland in order to finally defeat her biggest enemy—her evil and conniving mother. She failed once due to the intervention of a vampire that she has never forgiven. Vampire Locke lost his mate that fateful day and when her killer emerges he locks onto her signal (sorry couldn’t resist the pun😉) in order to finally avenge his mate’s death. When they finally come face to face, instead of the battle to the death they both anticipate the truth begins to emerge and they learn that they were both tricked all those years ago by their shared enemy, Kyi’s mother, and that Locke wasn’t her mate at all. As they work together to defeat Kuria, once and for all, Locke begins to suspect that his mate is really the saucy and sweet by turns Kyi he believed was his enemy all these years, but ‘fool me once…” and all that so he doubts his instincts, until it's almost too late. Can Kyi and Locke trust their hearts and instincts in time to work together to win the battle and find love everlasting, or has their foe defeated them long before they ever had a chance? I really enjoyed this story, the barbs and back and forth between Locke and Kyi giving their story an interesting kind of wicked foreplay as they learned the truth of their relationship to one another. Locke was obviously lost and in need of his mind being cleared before he could open his heart, but he never truly hurt Kyi which I found sweet and I enjoyed watching him kicking ass. Kyi was the type of woman we all aspire too, stepping up to do the impossible because no one else can or will, even though it’s not in her nature. The romance in this one was not the main focus for sure, which was a bit of a letdown, but has honestly become the trend in this series, with the focus instead being on the epic battles and ultimate takedown. There were of course some interesting side characters that were brought on the scene that I loved as always and I am looking forward to more in the series soon. Ivy always takes us for a roller coaster ride of emotional and dramatic action that keeps you glued to the book from start to finish.

BEWITCH THE DARKNESS Guardians of Eternity Book 18 by Alexandra Ivy

In this 18th book of the Guardians, Alexandra Ivy still has kept it fresh. This is the story of Locke the Vampire and Kyi. Locke is on a quest to take revenge against the one who allegedly killed his mate. Locke and Kyi are working together to figure everything out. Levet and Inga are back in this tome once again creating the chaos only Levet can bring. This is 4 stars.

Our favourite characters are back. Locke thought that he had lost his mate and that is doomed never to find her killer. But that all changes when he finds Kyi but can he really believe her story about her crazy mother was pretending to be his mate. Will they be able to find Xuria before she does anymore harm? When will they realise that they belong together? Love the characters and how they all interlock with each other. Can't wait for the next book in the series. I was lucky enough to receive a copy via Netgalley & the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Another great read in this EPIC series I really, really love this series. The Guardians of Eternity can never end, love it too much! In this next installment, we have Kyi who is out to kill her mother and it seems Locke has something in common with Kyi, except he wants to kill her, thinking that she killed his mate. Well, all is not what it seems, you will have to read it to know what is going. Filled with great past characters that I will never get enough of. I really wish that Levit and Inga would get a story already. I mean it is so obvious between those two and it is killing me that they are not together already, Lol. Loved it! 4 stars

This is a great addition to a great series. I found this to be quick paced story full of all the good stuff. The plot was interesting, the characters vast and the romance hot. I really enjoyed the uniqueness of the plot and how the villain was woven throughout. As usual Levet is amazing & the perfect "hero". I cannot wait for the next one.

Bewitch the Darkness is the 18th story in this non-stop series of action, adventure, passion and romance, and while Locke and Kyi are the primary characters in this latest edition of the Guardians of Eternity, many favourites make guess appearances such as Inga and Levit, and also our flamboyant Fae, Troy. Bewitch the Darkness is a captivating and intriguing story and a fabulous addition to this long running and addictive series. I thoroughly enjoyed the combined stories within, and the journeys outlined. I’m sure it will be another popular book with Ms Ivy’s steadfast readers.

Once again a threat comes along with it not being new. Kyi goes to try again to go after evil. Locke realizes Kyi had been speaking the truth so they work together on it. Something surfaces between them but it must wait. Turn the pages to see if they also can defeat Kyi's twin and does their wait ever get to be over.

Bewitch the Darkness is the eighteenth book in the Guardians of Eternity series by Alexandra Ivy. It brings to light new faces from times past and present along with a deeper insight into the history of the Guardians of Eternity. While some of our favorite characters from the earlier books do make cameos in Bewitch the Darkness, the focus is on illuminating new mythos and handling the latest existential crisis that has arisen.

This book focuses on Kyi, a half nymph half-human part blood who was raised by the wood dryads. She is going after her evil sorceress mother to protect herself and to end her mother's reign of terror. She longs for peace and for her ordeal to end.

Locke is a powerful vampire who serves the Anasso. He is plotting vengeance against the creature who killed his mate. However, he digs deeper to find that he had been bespelled and what happened all those years ago.

Together, Locke and Kyi work to save the world from an ancient evil. This book is truly spellbinding. Alexandra Ivy creates characters with such depth that you just can't help rooting for them.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC

Feels quite tired and forced. Inorganic. Kind of 2/3 arcs happening, but only half a romance.

This feels quite un-PC now, with poking body parts poking another's body and kissing and touching without seeking permission first, and it feels rather dated, as if the author has stuck to her tried-and-trusted formula and written this along the lines of her other novels. Sadly, as a romance it was a non-starter but it did have a storyline and for a moment, I thought there were 3 would-be romantic arcs happening - Locke & Kyi, Cleo and Troy and Levet and Inga, but it turned out to be a washed-out sort-of romance for Locke & Kyi.

Bringing in Styx the way the author did, with the cut-and-pasted intro that I have seen in several GoE tales, felt inorganic and just a way to drag Locke in as a lead. There truly wasn't any attraction between the leads, other than the oft-repeated 'scent of copper' mentions that made me think of the tang of blood (which kind of made sense, as Locke is a vampire, not that he really had his fangs out, though, to justify this) and that seemed to assail Kyi's nostrils. The Levet-Inga thing kid of was starting to get a bit more traction but then backtracked and tbh, I am getting tired of that dance. But not blaming Inga for her insecurities about herself. The third arc started off as a strong female and a guy doing her bidding, but petered out when she got offed.

This series feels very tired and it wasn't til I read this that I realised I skipped 2 previous tales and I can't make myself go back and read them. This reads a bit like a Silhouette Desire novel but it's too dated for 2021 and it doesn't really know what it wants to be, and it's only a token GoE tale, not an organic one. #~

ARC courtesy of the publisher and NetGalley for my reading pleasure.

Just when you think the danger is over, it comes roaring back. Bewitch the Darkness by Alexandra Ivy is the eighteenth book of The Guardians of Eternity. Never boring, never just a rehash of former plots this series stays fresh and intriguing.

Locke and Kyi think that they are enemies but find that perhaps what they really need to do is work together to bring down a strong evil force. Then Levit and Inga are on a rescue mission. If that is not enough Troy has a mission to complete too. This story is jammed packed with vampires, werewolves, gargoyle and more. Never a dull moment and a time to develop a lasing love relationship too.

Don’t start if you only have a few minutes to read. Surely you will not want to stop and may not the other task done because you will keep reading. A true unpredictable page turner.

4.5 Stars
An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

3.75 stars—BEWITCH THE DARKNESS is the eighteenth instalment in Alexandra Ivy’s adult GUARDIANS OF ETERNITY paranormal, romance series. This is vampire Locke, and nymph Kyi’s story line. BEWITCH THE DARKNESS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from several third person perspectives including Kyi and Locke, BEWITCH THE DARKNESS follows several pathways including Locke’s search for the person he believed killed his mate Xuria (100 years earlier) but what Locke discovers is that the woman he thought was his mate is actually a power hungry female h*ll bent on living for eternity, an eternity that can only be achieved by the death of others. Coming face to face with Kyi, one of Xuria’s daughter, Locke quickly discovers that Xuria is not who or what she proclaims to be, and her ever changing physical appearance is but one clue into the power Xuria’s intends to control.

Meanwhile our intrepid gargoyle Levet, along with Inga, the Queen of the mer-folk must go in search of Prince Troy who has been summoned by Kyi’s sister Cleo, a summons that Troy must obey. As Cleo goes in search of her mother, Troy discovers the Cleo’s intent, and the horror of what has been happening and why.

The relationship between Kyi and Locke is an enemies to lovers such that Locke is mistaken about Kyi’s identity and intent. Believing Kyi is the creature that killed his fated mate, Locke and Kyi must work together to stop Xuria, but stopping Xuria is a lot harder than any expected. The $ex scenes are limited but intimate.

BEWITCH THE DARKNESS is a busy story with several intersecting plot lines that sees another vampire find his happily ever after. The premise is entertaining and energetic; the characters are colorful and dynamic- as always there is chaos and fun wherever Levet goes; the romance is fated and seductive.

Locke has been" seeking solace" (read hatching a dastardly plan for revenge) for over a century. Someone killed his mate before they properly bonded and he's after blood. The King wants his Raven back on duty too.

When Kyi almost falls into his lap he's sure that his vengeance is almost complete. Pity Kyi throws a spanner in the works and informs him that his mate was nothing of the sort and was in fact a Sorceress! Oh, and also her mother!

Levet and Inga are also in amongst the drama along with Troy. But their adventures take them a slightly different route but as usual, end up just where they need to be in time for all the fireworks!

I sweat Levet steals the show. Every. Single. Time. LOL

A short, funny read with plenty of smexy moments! Perfect fit for a lunch time read.

This is the 18th book in the Guardians of Eternity series and although it is so far into the series, you can absolutely read this book as a standalone. I do recommend the previous books though just because they are great reads as well!

In this one we get the Vampire Locke's story. Locke has been waiting for over a century to avenge his mate's (Xuria) death. He wasn't expecting it to be her daughter though when he finally comes across the person he believes to be responsible. Kyi has been waiting for her mother to leave her secret realm for a very long time. Nothing else could make Kyi leave her woodland except to stop her evil mother's plans. She almost succeeded in ridding the world of her before until a vampire stopped her. But now Kyi is determined to take care of her for once and for all. Despite having a vampire trying to stop her. Until he realizes that her story about her mother is the truth. And then he begins to believe that maybe she is his true mate. But now they have to not only defeat her mother but also her sister, who has her own plans in play.

I really enjoyed this one! It starts off right from the start with a story that dragged me in and made me want to keep reading. I always love this author's vampire books and this one was no different. Locke went through what is a vampires worst fear-or so he thought. But once he realizes exactly what happened, he does what they do so well-get revenge! Kyi isn't out for payback per se. She is out to stop the true evil that she knows her mother to be. She just doesn't realize the true extent of everything that happened in the past. The chemistry between these two is hot! So not only do you get a great story but you also get a great romance with some sexy times in there too! I definitely enjoyed this one!

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was action packed, steamy, snarky and fun. It was fast-paced, held my interest and I didn't want to put it down. This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is #18 in the Guardians of Eternity series. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books in this series as well as others by this author.
