this was a great audiobook. i can say i was a little disappointed with the ending-- it very much felt like more of the same? there didn't seem to be a lot of twists and I pretty easily guessed every twist. that being said a great example of narrative consistency and voice.

Chokshi has brought The Gilded Wolves series to a close. This installment picks up right where the cliffhanger of the last book ended. Severin is gone and his crew, who he had pretended to kill, have started working together to find him. Enrique, Zofia, Laila and Hypnos are determined to discover where Severin and Ruslan are headed as the two men search for the power that will make them gods. The foursome fear the outcome, should the pair succeed.

Though they will work together, not everyone is ready to forgive. But the group is allied in their desire to stop Ruslan. Gaining the power of the gods is a dangerous prospect that the group is desperate to prevent.

Chokshi’s characters are the best part of this series. Enrique, Zofia and Hypnos are memorable and clearly defined. Severin and Laila have their own allure, but are much more complicated. Their behavior can be frustrating and aggravating. As for the plot, it is somewhat protracted and drags at times. While the second book seems to be the highlight of the series but it’s worth reading just to follow the wonderful characters in their final efforts to prevent a travesty.

The audio version is in capable hands and adds to the reading experience.
3.5*

I practically flew through this book because I was so eager to see how things would end for all of these characters. And while I can't say I loved the epilogue, it was great to read about them all one last time. 3.5 stars

It took me a bit to get into this one but once it picked up and was really interesting and I have to admit I’ve been invested in these since the first book. I used the audiobook format and I have to say the narrators did a phenomenal job. The ending though was a wild ride and I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it.

This was a sad, bittersweet ending to the trilogy. There's a lot of lessons here about humanity and selfishness that we learned through each of the characters. The character development in this edition was evident. I knew it would have to end with big wins and big losses and that's what happened. The story opens right where we left off. With the fate of our favorites hanging in the balance. The book dragged on to finally resolve what we've been waiting for. Once we got to the part where everyone's goal was almost going to be accomplished, it went vert fast. Big build up and then a quick resolution. I did find a few things confusing about this ending but I felt like it ultimately felt right? I do wish we would have gotten more into the epilogue but like most of the trilogy, it felt like the exact kind of bittersweet happiness. It's hard to keep the last book in the trilogy spoiler free. I did this through audio and it was a delight. The two narrators were able to play up that long build up to the end and even nailed the camaraderie between the five. I enjoyed the attempts at a French accent and it made the story better for me. Even though I had many issues with the trilogy, I deeply enjoyed the journey and I'm a little sad that it's ended.

This ending was epic! I was so pleased! There was great action and great heart. I think I like this one almost as much as the first. I love this trilogy so much!!
I loved the narrators. I loved hearing the names and learning how to say them.
I can't wait to see what Roshani Chokshi does next!

This series had such a satisfying, although bittersweet ending.
As with the other 2 books in the series, my absolute favorite part was the characters. Found family is one of my favorite tropes and this is one of my favorite found families. I think Zofia may have been my very favorite with Hypnos and Enrique close behind. Zofia just had my whole heart. And Hypnos was hilarious as usual.
This book picked up right where the last book left off and did a great job of reminding the reader what happened previously without it really feeling like the whole previous books are being rehashed. It was great to have the 4 POVs and really know what was going on in all aspects of the story especially when all the characters weren't together. We really got those small reminders from all the characters which I loved.
I feel like not a ton happened in the first half of the book, but the action really picked up in the second half and was very exciting.
We have the big ending and then we have "through the next several years" which I really enjoyed and really summed up the series and made it feel final. We also have a prologue which just made my heart feel all the feels (good or bad? I won't spoil!).
I would 100% recommend this whole series!

🌟 "How does a treasure wish to make itself known? What does it want you to see?" 🌟

The Bronzed Beasts, the third and final book in the Gilded Wolves trilogy, takes place in the immediate aftermath of the events that transpired during the conclusion of The Silvered Serpents. Here’s what I can say without risking spoilers: tensions are high, no one can be trusted and time is running out. We once more follow our ragtag group of adventurers through lush landscapes and precarious situations as Severin, Laila, Zofia, Enrique, and Hypnos race towards a conclusion that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The Bronzed Beasts has been one of my most-anticipated reads since I finished an arc of The Silvered Serpents a year or two ago. The wait for the third and final book in the series has been agonizing, so you better believe I was over the moon when I received an arc of the audiobook. But I was also a little bit apprehensive. These characters and this world hold a special place in my heart, and I worried that the conclusion wouldn’t meet my lofty expectations. I shouldn’t have been so concerned. Roshani Chokshi hit this one out of the park, delivering an ending that felt – to put it simply – right. My heartstrings were pulled, my wishes were granted and I’ve got a new favorite series to recommend to people. Who could ask for more?

What I Liked:
-        For me, the strongest element of this series is the characters. They’re all so incredibly fleshed-out and life-like. Each one has their own strengths and weaknesses, and they complement each other in such a beautiful and seamless way. If you like a good found family troupe, I couldn’t recommend this series enough. Each character works great on their own, but together? They’re unstoppable.

-        Chokshi’s writing is stunning. There were so many beautiful, evocative phrases sprinkled throughout the text that deeply enhanced the reading experience for me. The author truly has a talent for atmospheric writing that drawls you into the world she’s created.

-        I found the ending to be pretty much everything I wanted! I loved where all the characters ended up and felt like it was a natural progression of their personalities. Though that ending emotionally crushed me, I still felt deeply satisfied. Which, for me, hardly ever happens in series conclusions. So, points to Chokshi!

What I Didn’t Like:
-        The pacing had some issues. Not enough for me to deduct a star (or even half a star), but I did feel like the middle portion of the book dragged a bit. There was a lot of character work happening, so I understand why, but it did nonetheless feel like the tension Chokshi had been trying to build slackened somewhat in that section.

Over all, I think this was a great conclusion to a fantastic trilogy.

FIRST - ROSH!!! My Queen...what a book - what a series!!! - I'm so grateful to NG since my hard copy won't get here until next month.
I got this as an advanced audio from NG and this is the first I have listened to this series and I may need to go back and relive the whole series just to hear it voiced completely!! The audio captured it so well. I absolutely love every character and I will forever love Hypnos. This 3rd book really rounded them all out and I love the way everything played out. Roshani is such a lyrical writer - from the world building to the myths come to life to just her way with words and sentences. I can't believe this is the last book, I could live in the adventures of these 5 forever, but what an ending.
You'll laugh, you'll cry, lose hope and get it all back again.

I've tried to start this review several times now and can't seem to fully put into words what I am thinking or feeling after finishing this series. So, I'm going to break it down into things I liked and things I didn't.
What I liked:
The main crew - I especially love Zofia and Hypnos. I would read a stand alone novel about both of them. A little more Hypnos would've been nice in this one.
Atmosphere/locations - I love Roshani Chokshi's sense of place. I can always visualize the cities and locations the crew travels to and nearly taste Laila's baked treats.
Narrators: This is the first book in the series I read on audio and the narration was lovely. It really added to the atmosphere to here the accented speech of each of the four POVs.

What I didn't like:
The plot - it was confusing and at times a little boring. I really enjoyed the heist vibe of the first two books. In this final installment I didn't fully understand what was happening especially near the end at the temple.
The end - again, maybe this is just because I didn't understand the temple situation fully, but I was a little disappointed in the ending. It just felt a tad off from the rest of the books.

I'm still glad I read it because I so enjoyed the rest of the series and I would recommend the full series to friends who enjoy fantasy, history, and a little mystery.

This is a fabulous finale to the Gilded Wolves trilogy, definitely my favorite of the three but I’ll keep it spoiler free in case you haven’t started the series yet. We start off right where book 2 ended and it doesn’t let up. The characters are all opposites and it keeps things so funny and interesting. The writing style is beautiful and just shy of flowery, which I don’t normally like but Chokshi pulls it off. I think YA fantasy lovers will really like this series and I highly recommend the audiobooks, the narrators and their accents are great.

Thanks to the publisher for providing an early copy of the audiobook for The Bronzed Beasts in exchange for an honest review.

I was so so worried for this one because a lot of trilogies go downhill by the third book (aka whatever tf happened with divergent) but Roshani Chokshi killed this. I don't want to say a lot and spoil anything, but I'm absolutely obsessed with where every single character ends up and it all makes so much sense. I can't imagine it ending any other way.

In the wake of betrayal, the fragile and fractured crew of treasure hunters continue to seek the temple that may offer power of the divine in The Bronzed Beasts by Roshani Chokshi.

Séverin’s actions of apparent betrayal in Russia fractures his crew and their trust in him as he aims to temper the deranged and dangerous desires of the Fallen House’s Patriarch. With few clues and limited supplies left to them, Laila, Enrique, Zofia, and Hypnos work their way through Venice following their previous mission’s objective and locating Séverin as previously planned, despite their anger toward him. Seeking out the temple where the Divine Lyre can be played, Séverin aims to fulfill what he views as his right, to become a god and in doing so find a way to save Laila before her time expires. Facing puzzles of varying natures and levels of danger, the crew soon see that the price for divinity is significant and one they may not be willing to pay; however, whichever choice they make will be world-changing.

A strong and fitting conclusion to the series, this part of The Gilded Wolves Trilogy narrative dives quickly back into action and a heightened sense of emotion to hook readers back in to the established world and become reinvested in the characters’ fates where The Silvered Serpents left off. The dynamics and relationships between the characters were further explored as they faced new perils and looming deadlines, offering additional, helpful development and insights in to their motivations, though Hypnos and his levity makes fewer appearances, leaving him as more of an enigma with unrealized potential than the others. There’s quite a bit of action taking place in settings that were somewhat similar, insofar as they were puzzles in rooms that needed to be solved, cleverly, and wrong moves placed your life in danger, which was a little unbalanced in terms of pacing because it felt both rushed as well as slow as events progressed. While endings to large story arcs are generally difficult to accomplish, this one is satisfying and bittersweet, wrapping up the story well. This was my first experience with an audiobook and I’m happy to report that it was a good one; the narration was engaging and the accents helped to distinguish the various characters within the four points of view that narrate the tale. I’m pleasantly surprised at how easy it was for me to remain focused while not actively and visually tracking words on a page; however, the mental images generated by someone else speaking didn’t feel quite the same as when I’m reading and everything’s all contained within my head and using my inner voice.

Overall, I’d give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

The Bronze Beasts is the riveting conclusion of The Gilded Wolves trilogy.

I enjoyed this story the most out of this series. There was less filler in this one I find. I'm guessing it's because it was leading up to the final adventure. The story picks up right where The Silvered Serpants left off and starts to move full speed into the goal since the beginning, finding the temple.

I really feel like this story was finished just right with by the events of The Bronzed Beasts. All the loose ends feel wrapped up and the story is done in such a way that it ties everything in. I really feel like this series could not have been finished off in a better way. I also find it hard to review in deeper explanation so I don't give away any events but I can say it's probably the most action packed of all three.

Narration
The bronzed beasts was narrated by two readers doing all four points of view. I really liked how P.J. Ochlan changes his voice when narrating actual conversation between characters and thoughts. You didn't feel as if you would miss something because you didn't know if it was an inner or outer voice.
Laurie Catherine Winkel also did a great job at separating her characters voices by certain vocal depths. I really found it way easier to enjoy and not have to be hyper focused to know who was speaking and whose point of view you were listening to.

This is the third book in the series. You will need to read the first two books in order to fully understand what is going on.
While I've enjoyed all of these books, I will have to say that they are quite thick reads. What I mean is that you need to pay close attention to what is going on. It had been quite a while since I read book two so I was a bit lost at the beginning. (This is my fault and not the authors.) I did pick the story back up quickly and was able to immerse myself in it.
This book is a repeat of the other two where the friends are showing great loyalty to each other. They are trying to save Laila while trying to heal from Severin's supposed betrayal. Along the way, the group finds themselves in dangerous situations that call for cunning and intelligent responses.
I listened to the audiobook and was quite impressed with the narrators voice. His voice was entrancing and I easily found myself mesmerized by the telling.
Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this audiobook.

“’How would you find us?’ A sad smile touched his mouth. “I would find you anywhere.”

Wow. This book was BEAUTIFUL. The character and story development was absolutely brilliant. This book has some of the most beautiful declarations of love and hope.

This book picks up immediately after the devastating and emotional events that Silvered Serpents ended in. We are back with our favorite found family gang as they all try to put the pieces back together.
We have Severin- desperate for forgiveness and second chances. He will do whatever it takes to protect those he loves. WHATEVER IT TAKES. He will lie, cheat, hurt, betray and all for his friends who he loves like family.
Then we have Laila and her brutal reminder that her days are numbered. She is desperate to find a way to survive because she has yet to truly live. She is constantly reminded of Severin and his brutal words but also can’t help the desire that flows through her veins.
Finally, my favorite little trio. Enrique, Zofia, and Hypnos. Enrique is fueled by rage after the events of silvered serpents and is determined to find a way to help Lila. Zofia continues with her explosives and fire and her brilliant mind is put to the test. Hypnos is the glue that tries to hold everyone together- he never loses his hope and faith and is the perfect comedic relief when things grow tense.

This book was filled with so much adventure and riddles. So much love and faith. A TON of action that I was freaking out time and time again.
Choksi’s writing is one of my favorites-she weaves atmospheric and lush writing to create a beautiful world. This time, we are in Venice and I truly felt like I was there.
Overall, this book was the perfect conclusion- that epilogue was one of the most beautiful ones I have ever read. This crew will stay in my heart forever.

I received this as an audio galley to listen to for free in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for giving me access.

***We interrupt your regularly scheduled broadcasting to brink you this breaking news: This book/series should really be read as a physical or ebook. The audio narration is mediocre and takes so much away from the feel of the story. Audio narrations really make or break a book and this one broke it for me — and I THRIVE on audiobooks. That being said, the review is not based from the narration.***

I. AM. DEAD. 💀

The Gilded Wolves - 💔
The Silvered Serpents - 💔😡
The Bronzed Beasts - 😡💔💔😱😭

The Bronzed Beasts is a wonderfully written ending. While my heart is currently on the floor getting stomped on by every word, it is also filled with happiness. Without giving the reader what we want in the end, Chokshi gives us what we need instead and somehow that makes everything ok.

Immediately following the events of The Silvered Serpents, The Bronzed Beasts continues along Severin's quest for godhood, to save his friends, and Laila's quest to save her own life. But things become even more complicated than they seem.

I loved this SO SO MUCH. I want to cry that it is over. I loved this trilogy with all my heart. I need to reread all of the books again once they are all out! The character development in this book is peak and I loved to see what happened with all the characters.

Also!!! The relationship I really wanted! Panned out in this one! It took like the entire book for it to happen, but it did and I'm SO HAPPY ABOUT IT! Loved this!

Wonderfully Tragic. I wish I had had more time with the former, happy crew from book one (maybe like a prequel novella???) but I absolutely adored all the angst and tragedy of The Silver Serpents and The Bronzed Beast. Severin is such an great tragic hero. A great satisfying ending to this fantastic series. The audiobook narrators were both fantastic in all three books of this trilogy. Thanks to Netgalley for the Advanced Copy of the Audiobook.

That ending was so good. I both predicted and loved what the last lines of the book were. All in all, much more engaging and enjoyable than the second book for me.

The accents were very thick at times, and I realized I was pronouncing Severin's name wrong this whole time.
