I was attracted to this book by the cover and that it was recommended for readers who loved EAT, PRAY, LOVE. Not nearly as powerful, but it was still an enjoyable story. Bali is such a magical setting for any book that is about a person who finds themselves falling in love.

Sussman's moving story about making sense of life after a tragedy is meaningful because it can be applied to so many circumstances. Jamie is a relatable character and the reader feels the atmosphere of Bali through her eyes. This touching tale will cause contemplation about what closure truly means.

SUMMARY: Jamie, an adventure travel guide, was caught in the bombings in Bali in 2002. She returns a year later to attend a ceremony for those lost and to get some closure for what happened. She also has another motive--to find Gabe, the man who helped her when she was hurt. Staying at the Paradise Guest House, Jamie meets different people, all affected by the bombing in various ways. She uses her time there to come to terms with the horrific events, but also to discover that life and love exist even in bleak circumstances.

I loved this book! It’s the story of a night club bombing and how the characters recover from
the tragedy. A quick and engaging read!
