The perfect cheesy cost Christmas romance with a beautiful small town setting that I felt like I was living in and a lovely predictable, hallmark film style romance. I think that had I read this in the lead up to Christmas it might have got 4 stars instead of 3. Looking forward to reading more like this in December 2022!

I really enjoyed The Perfect Christmas Gift by Katie Ginger. A perfect feel good book that left me feeling all Christmassy. I could not put this book down, I loved it. The idea of the ‘giving tree’ was fab, especially with the struggles many families have over the Christmas period. A fab book by Katie.

A fun, romantic tale set at Christmastime. Some of the plot was predictable, but still made for a great read.
I was ready to put on my warm cap and head on over to visit the small village where most of the story takes place. It just seemed so magical.

What a sparklingly seasonal read! In the run up to Christmas, school teacher Bella arrives home and discovers her husband is leaving her for another woman. Her neighbour Nick (dad to gorgeously described school boy Freddie) has also suffered the heartbreak of losing Freddie's mum when she left him to go overseas. Bella pushes her sadness to onside and is intent on reviving the spirit of Christmas this year by inventing a giving tree. Quite simply those in need of something can ask, while others can donate. This was such a sweet Christmas novel grounded in real life and focussed on good cheer and kindness that is inside most of us. I adored Bella's family (particularly her mum!) and the romance was a satisfying slow burn. This has all the goodness and richness of a Carole Matthews Christmas read. Heartily approve.

Of all the festive books I’ve read recently I think this is my favourite. It’s all about new beginnings, being part of a loving, slightly crazy , family and also about having a social conscience and helping others in your community. The story made me shed a few tears several times but offset against that were the times it made me giggle out loud. Great description of dealing with bullying too, either as a child or as an adult - although maybe threatening your bully with exposure as a grown up is possibly a ‘don’t try this at home’ moment!

This a cute cozy Christmas tale set in the quaint suburbs of London. Bella is an elementary school teacher who loves her picture perfect town and is counting down the days until Christmas, her favorite time of year. Her positive and upbeat personality are on full display until she comes home from school to find her boyfriend of 5 years trying to sneak out of their home to be with another woman. With the help of her family, she attempts to pull it together to find joy this holiday season. Will the Christmas pageant be enough? Will the town accept her new idea of a giving tree? Should she be having feelings so early for her handsome and recently single neighbor? All in all I enjoyed this novel but felt the beginning could have been condensed with some good editing. Too many repeating sentiments when it could have been moving the plot line forward. I definitely will want to read more of Katie Ginger's holiday novels. This was a bit different to the usual festive read and dealt with some difficult issues of loss for adults and children very well I felt. That didn’t detract from the warmth of the story which was heartwarming and filled with resilience and community spirit. A great festive read!

Katie Ginger and I have a great relationship that is entirely based on her not knowing I exist, and me going for her latest Christmas book every single year. Oh - and me never being disappointed in her style, the plots she chooses, or the way she transforms those into captivating and utterly cosy stories. And guess what: she did it again with The Perfect Christmas Gift! After all, sometimes, home is a person rather than a place - and Christmas is definitely not the time of year for that to be pulled away from under your feet.

I really loved this book. It was sweet and endearing, but it also dealt with some pretty serious issues and how those issues impact children. Bella was easy to love from the beginning and she was easy to cheer for throughout the novel. If you’re looking for a fun, feel good Christmas book, this one is it!

A lovely tale - I adored Bella and her enthusiasm to help others despite her own setbacks. Supported by a gaggle of friends, she brings the community together with her giving tree and helps others to find happiness. A warm Christmassy book!

I enjoyed this one. It was cute and festive! It wasn’t one of my favourites because I got a little bit bored but it could have been a reading slump.

A sweet story but it dragged a lot then everything seemed to happen rather quickly in the last few pages.

The sweetest Christmas story about a school teacher, her students, and the community. Each struggles with their own thing - lost relationships, bullying, poverty - but they find ways to come together in the holiday season to unite, embrace the spirit of the days, and spread love & peace.
This story was a wonderful mix of struggle, laughs, and love.

This was a gorgeous read, as always by Katie, filled with so many heart-warming moments, a stunning set of characters and a story with a huge heart, filling my own up with so much happiness and joy. This is a beautiful read this Christmas and I absolutely adored it.

Therefore, do not prejudge! Because of the cover, I thought it was going to be a very chick lity, silly read, even though it was one of the best Christmas volumes I’ve read in recent years.
Whether a book is romantic or chick lit, plus it takes place during the holidays, you don’t have to forgive him for this and that, there are good books on the subject. Like this one!
The story is based on Bella’s broken heart, Nick and her little son, who are going through Christmas together, a small English town and an idea.
Here we get everything that is typical of a dilapidated small town (also reminiscent of the Gilmore Girls and Hart of Dixie, which is all plus points) in a nativity scene that reworkes the songs of Lady Gaga and Bon Jovi (chorus at Livin 'On a Prayer : Ohhh, she's having a baby, ooh-ooh…), little kids who don't come out, parents I wouldn't come out with, Henry Cavill small town edition, khm, love, devotion, family, intrigues, thrills, emotions with a thousand, blizzard , what else.
I loved this book, with its well-structured, humorous, yet charming, slow-burning love story, which by the end might have been a bit kitschy, but overall it was almost a perfect read. I can’t wait to read the writer’s other novel as well.

This was a cute Christmas love story. Bella is comfortable in her life living in her small town as an elementary school teacher. But she feels a disconnect with those around her and decides she will put together a giving tree. That will make her life feel complete.

Until she returns home to find her long-term live-in boyfriend leaving her for another woman. As her life spirals, she realizes she needs that service project more than anything. When her neighbor 's son is involved in a bullying situation at school, Bella also gets involved there and finds she has room in her heart even after her tough breakup. As she gets closer to her neighbor, Nick, she realizes she might be falling in love- until Nick's estranged wife returns and puts a kink in everything.

This was just a cute story. There were a few things in there that I wouldn't necessarily want my teenager to read, but it's clean enough for an adult. And the overall Christmas cheer is most definitely there.

Bella lives next door to NIck and his son Freddie, who were abandoned with no notice by Paige six months earlier. Bella throws herself into the Christmas events that the town puts on to get over her grief and loss. She also brings the idea of a giving tree to life. Along the way her family support her, she and Nick become friends, and issues at school with bullies come to a head.
