Can neighbours become more than just good friends this Christmas? Bella Moore is excitedly counting down the days to Christmas. That is until she arrives home one evening to find her boyfriend leaving her for another woman. Completely heartbroken, Bella is left wondering if Christmas can still be the same this year.

Next door, Bella’s neighbour Nick is facing his first Christmas as a single dad and doubting whether he can make it the magical time his son Freddie deserves.

Determined to fix both Christmas and their broken hearts, Bella comes up with an idea: a Christmas giving tree for the whole village, where the community can unite and secretly give each other the Christmas presents they truly need.

As Bella becomes chief elf, taking donations and delivering gifts with much-needed help from Nick and Freddie, the two neighbours grow closer and start seeing each other in a whole new light.

But when Nick’s estranged wife returns just before Christmas, is their budding romance over before it’s begun? Or will love be Nick and Bella’s perfect gift this Christmas?

This is a lovely festive story with a theme of giving, Neighbours Bella, Nick and his son Freddie work through their heartbreak and loss to make Christmas memorable for everyone in the village. This is an emotional and uplifting story with relatable characters who draw the reader into their world. The village ethos is well-described, and there’s an element of second chance romance for Bella and Nick.

As with all great stories, there are ups and downs, obstacles and mishaps, laughter and tears, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching Bella mend her broken heart and throw herself into life again. The story isn’t without conflicts, but friendship and trust overcome these. This is heartwarming and uplifting, the perfect festive read.

Many thanks to NetGalley and HQ Digital for an advance copy in return for a fair and honest review

I really did enjoy this one.

My only complaint is that once Bella and her boyfriend broke up I feel like there was a lot of deadspace between when she and Nick would even talk to each other. There was an apparent attraction on both their parts--however, I didn't quite enjoy the transitory period.

BUT, once we got to the 50% mark, I started to enjoy this story a lot more and felt like it picked up. I enjoyed both Bella and Nick very much. I feel like their love story was such a perfect ending for both of them, given what they've both been through.

This is a standalone book in a series that can be read alone.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read and review this book. My review will be live, at the link given, on 11/06/21.

Absolutely love this author and this book didn't disappoint, a gorgeous Christmas story about Bella a primary school teacher who loves Christmas and is looking forward to spending it with her family and boyfriend until she gets home early one day from work and finds her boyfriend half way out the door with his suitcase!!! Can poor Bella get over the heartbreak of him leaving so close to her favourite time of year?
Bella soon finds herself with things to take her mind off her heartbreak and comes up with an idea to help the people of her village with Christmas by introducing the giving tree and she also has some drama at school she has to deal with, this leads her to engage more with her neighbour Nick and his son Freddie and soon romance blossoms until Nicks estranged wife returns.
Will it be a happy ending for all? you would have to read it to find out
Highly recommend this book and the author is amazing

My thanks to netgally for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review, which I freely give.

This is the first time I have read this author, but i will be looking for more. It begins in the village school on a Friday afternoon where Bella is a teacher, I had to giggle as she was keeping then children in order and how it was written I could hear the voice of Joyce Grenfell ! Bella arrives home at her cottage that she shares with Evan, just in time to see him walking down the stairs with a case. He drops a bombshell that he is leaving - this after 5 years. Freddie, who attends the school and is the son of her neighbour, is being bullied. Bella is trying to help. We find out that Nick the father is a single parent, his wife having left him to live in Bali with another man.

Christmas is only a few weeks away and Bella throws herself into the Christmas play, she is also helping out at the Christmas community event. She also suggests a giving tree, - something like a secret Santa. Nick & Freddie volunteer to help Bella on Saturday mornings at the park to help get it ready for Christmas. This is a beautiful story. It does have a bit of bulling by children, but nothing over the top.

This is a lovely read and a beautiful Christmas story. I can well recommend this book.

This is my fifth novel by author Katie Ginger and it did not disappoint as I loved my return visit to Meadowbank. The Perfect Christmas Gift was a really lovely story and I especially liked the main characters, Bella and newly single Nick, father to Freddie, his son. The storyline really encompassed the true meaning of Christmas in a delightful way, without being too sickly sweet and saccharine. There was a good sense of community togetherness and I loved the Winter theme with its festive charm and watching for Nick and Bella's's relationship to bloom. I wanted to be right there alongside them, especially when it came to the Christmas markets, fairy lights and falling snow. The story's overall tone was snug and uplifting, bringing with it those Yuletide vibes.

This was a beautifully written, humorous story of love, friendship, community spirit, helping others and overcoming obstacles, though it also contained some darker themes such as bullying. Dashes of hopeful romance kept things fizzing and everything was wrapped up very nicely in the end. A wonderful read with strong Chrismassy notes, this is a book that I will certainly be recommending to friends and family.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from HQ Digital via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

Bella gets dumped just before christmas so to keep herself from being miserable she sets up a giving tree in her little village. Its a brilliant idea and she finds herself drawing close to her neighbour and single dad Nick. But when his ex shows up, it threatens to ruin christmas for Bella. Can everything work out?

Oh I do love a festive read even in October, its making me long for Christmas, thought I doubt I'll get a snowy one like Bella. The story is simple and fun plus it spreads a powerful message about helping others. The plot is slow and steady but fitting for the story. The ending is so perfect and I love how it all came together especially with Paige. Bella is so wonderful but it was Freddie who stole my heart in this. He's just so sweet. The writing is so good and I could picture the village and the snowy scenes. A perfect winter read.

This was a pleasant enough story with good characters, but, for me, not quite Christmassy enough, certainly in the first half.
I found it hard to picture the village of Meadowbank. It didn't quite ring true with it's perfect little village school, yet populated by so many needy families.
It’s well written but some of the bigger issues, like bullying in school, were not satisfactorily resolved.
Enjoyable but not my favourite Christmas book.
Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book I've read by Katie Ginger and I wasn't disappointed. I only read romantic novels at or about Christmas as I usually prefer other genres. Christmas is a time for romance though and the perfect ending. The outcome is always inevitable and there is always a touch of the unbelievable but when you have the right characters and a good plot it's the perfect read. And this is what you have here, the perfect Christams read.
My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for my copy.

I was offered an eARC of this book in exchange for a free review.

I know it’s only October but right now I’m craving everything Christmas, and this book lived up to that completely. With a wholesome, organic love story, great characters, and all the festive fun I’m ready to sit down with a glass of Baileys and stick my head in a Christmas tree.

One thing I loved about this story was how the spirit of Christmas was captured in the idea of a giving tree, about giving to others and the sense of a tight knit community doing anything to help each other.

It wasn’t all fun and laughter though, there were certain points of this book that I found hard to read, and at one point there were even tears in my eyes.

My first book by this author and definitely not my last!
This is the perfect Christmas book, fantastic from cover to cover. It was everything I love in a festive read. Believable characters and a beautiful setting. This author’s style of writing reminds me of Heidi Swain, utterly wonderful

Thank you NetGalley, Katie Ginger and HQ for the copy of The Perfect Christmas Gift. This is my personal review.
Bella was excited about the upcoming holiday season. She did not expect to come home to find her boyfriend leaving her for another woman. Now Bella was not sure what her Christmas was going to be for her as heartbroken as she is now.
Nick lives next door to Bella, and this will be the first Christmas as a single Dad. He wants this to be a perfect Christmas for his son Freddie.
Bella knows in her heart she wants this to be a wonderful holiday for herself and for Nick and Freddie. She has idea that she thinks will bring them joy and happiness. With all three working together, she knows it will be a perfect holiday for them and everyone else in town.
This book was a great way for me spend time with all the people in this book. I enjoyed the feeling of being part of the town.

This book will help you get into the festive spirit as the Christmas preparations start at the local village school. Katie has managed to write this in such a way that it will play with your emotions - you will feel for Freddie and Bella even before you have really got to know them.

This is very well written and I found myself wanting to create some additional time for me to read it in.

Rating 4/5

Overall this was a really classic Christmas romance as it had all the normal plotlines with them having an accidental meeting and them both having feelings been already telling each other and the miscommunication troop and I just think the overall this is like other ones in the genre as I think it’s overused but I did like the writing style from this author and I will be checking your other books that is an under this trip from this author

Thank you to HQ for letting me take part in this tour and for my copy of this book via Netgalley. This is the first book I have read by Katie. I asked to be part of this tour because I loved the Christmassy cover. I am well and truly on the Christmas book train now.

Bella Moore is the loveliest woman I have ever met. Bella has such a big heart and I think everyone was right when they said she was too good for Evan. They really didn't seem well matched to me. I loved Bella’s family and their enthusiasm for Christmas.I think Christmas is such a magical time of year. I love how everyone is in such a good mood. Bella would do absolutely anything for anyone. She really is one of a kind.

Nick, oh he is so much more than the guy next door. This man is a rugged landscaper who has somehow kept it together for the last 6 months. Not only did he have his broken heart to think about also little Freddie’s. This man is far too good for Paige and definitely deserves more.

Freddie stole my heart in this book. He is such a sweet kid. He thinks about others before himself and is a very forgiving child. He really tugged on my heartstrings.

I loved the village of Meadowbank. I love it when a community all rallied around each other. It was so lovely to see them all getting involved in the Giving Tree. I understand this isn’t the first book set in this village, I’m definitely going to be finding the other one as I really loved this community.

Katie has woven a wonderful story here of not only love but also about the true spirit of Christmas. It’s not all about what we receive but about the simple act of giving. I think this book really encapsulates the true meaning of Christmas and reminds us to enjoy the simple things.

I was looking for a great way to ease into the holiday spirit and I think there’s nothing better than the idea behind the book, the village Giving Tree, championed by our heroine, Bella. Comingstraight off a heartache, this loveable primary schoolteacher throws her heart and soul into comforting others when it’s been wrenched out by her ex. And haven’t a lot of us been there before?

The slow build of neighbors Bella and Nick, who also is reeling from his own heartache, and Nick’s adorable son Freddie, makes this a page-turner that you want to cheer for.

Growing up in a small town, I was hooked in completely by the zany cast of characters who gave me such a chuckle and some who just made me want to give them stockings full of coal. I’m looking at you, Mr. and Mrs. Cole. If that isn’t a brillint pun for a choice of character name, I don’t know what is.

For a wonderful pick me up, grab your copy of The Perfect Christmas Gift and place it into the stockings of a few of your friends. Highly recommended.

This was a very sweet and very festive Christmas story. It ticks a lot of boxes for things I love to see in my festive reads – a very Christmassy small town/village setting, sweet main characters and a fun range of secondary characters to support them, and a romance that builds in a way that is at least a bit believable.

I really loved Bella and Nick as characters, and the way their relationship grew. I thought that Bella’s idea for a village wishing tree was really sweet, and between that and the mini subplot about some school bullying I found some parts of the book really moving. And it definitely felt festive – the visit to see the decorations in London, the Christmas markets at the park, the scenes where we see Beth and her family preparing for Christmas, and of course the school Christmas play were all chestnut roastingly Christmas swoon worthy.

Something I enjoyed a little bit less about the book was not just the terrible boyfriend leaving Bella (which is a surprisingly regular situation for our Christmas romance protagonists to start their story in, one of my least favourites), but also the amount of time that she spent thinking about and pining after him. I would have loved to have seen more of Bella and Nick together, without going back to the reminders of her terrible ex so often.

Over all this was a pretty sweet read. I enjoyed the broader setting of the book – in terms of the village and the community – so much that I think I will check out some more of Katie Ginger’s stories set in Meadow Bank (I do want to know what happens to Nick and Bella next!), and I wouldn’t be surprised if I find myself falling a little bit in love with the village and the people living there. I have also heard great things about Katie’s previous Christmas books and I’m quite keen to check some out

Well this book certainly was 'The Perfect Christmas Gift'! It was absolutely delightful, gorgeously festive and full of emotion. I loved Meadowbank and the cast of characters, but particularly Bella and her family. Despite the early heartbreak, this book heals your heart with a cosy, feel good story and I adored it. Definitely recommended for fans of Heidi Swain and Sarah Morgan, I can't imagine that any reader would struggle to enjoy this book and lose themselves in the festivities.

This is such a sweet- cute- oh goodness happy holiday read! Belle get's dumped before the holiday season which is her favorite but then she notices her neighbor Nick after a bit. You will fall in love with Belle and Nick's son Freddie after at school he has trouble with bullying from a mean kid. The town is super cute and you love her family. This has super slow burn and no steam. Perfect for a good cozy Christmas read!

A much needed feelgood read after a horrible week! I loved escaping to the Kent countryside and enjoying a wonderful build up to christmas. When the book started with broken relationships I didn't think it would be quite so happy, but the author created such a christmas atmosphere, some humour and lovely relationships. It was so nice to see the positive relationships between teachers and children too, and the fun of putting on a nativity play. Family relationships, romance and fun. The premise of the Giving Tree was sad but such a real concept in today's world that it was a wonderful way of bringing a community together. #netgalley #theperfectchristmasgift
