I loved listening to this while I was busy wrapping presents for Christmas. Perfect novel to pass the time with. The characters were relatable, the setting was just a cozy Christmas town, and it was just like a warm hug! Thank you!

I’m one of Hallmark’s biggest fans and was so excited to get the chance to listen to this. You can’t go wrong with a Hallmark Christmas story and this sweet couple was the shining star!

Thank you, Ginny Baird, Hallmark, Dreamscape, & Netgalley for my copy. All opinions are my own.

I DNFed this audiobook. I listened to it back in December. I didn’t like the characters and couldn’t get into the story.

3.5 stars.
This book felt just like curling up and watching a Hallmark Christmas movie. I know this is the entire point of the book, and it definitely nailed it. I had Lacey Chabert cast as Mary, the Christmas Consultant, from the first introduction. I'm still debating on who to cast as Evan.

It was fun to take the journey of planning for a Christmas Parade fundraiser with Mary and overcoming all the obstacles and objections thrown at her by Evan. I always enjoy a good enemies to lovers troupe, and while Mary and Evan weren't exactly enemies, the tension made the story enjoyable and a little more realistic.

This book was all the romantic fun of a hallmark movie in book form. This was book was adorable and an absolutely delightful read. It had everything I could imagine when I think about small-town Christmas romance and the I loved all the characters. I seriously can't stop gushing about this book and I will definitely be recommending it the next time the holiday season rolls around.

Title: On Christmas Avenue
Author: Ginny Baird
Narrated by: Amanda Stribling
Publisher: Hallmark Publishing & Dreamscape Media
Length: Approximately 8 hours and 10 minutes

Clark Creek is a small town in a lot of financial trouble. The mayor hires Mary, a consultant to come in devise a plan to bring in tourists for the Christmas season. Mary designs a spectacular Christmas parade that will be a tourist destination. Her only problem is the Sheriff, Evan, who is a Scrooge about Christmas and is not on board with her ideas. He is afraid it will bankrupt the town. Will Mary be able to make the Christmas parade a success and help out Clark Creek? Will Evan and Mary learn how to get along?

I loved this nice clean read. If you are a fan of Hallmark movies, this is the perfect audiobook for you. I listened to it the week before Christmas, and it really put me in the mood for the holiday. I loved the romance as it was an enemies to lovers trope. It doesn’t take Evan long to warm up to Mary and her efficient planning of the parade. I loved the characters and the small town and would love to visit it myself. Amanda Stribling was a good narrator of the audiobook.

Overall, if you love Hallmark movies and wish you could read them in a book version, this is the perfect book for you.

I was looking forward to this one and it was perfection. I love the love story and the Christmas theme. Cutest Christmas romance for this time of year

This is a typical feel-good Christmas story that you can see playing out on the Hallmark channel, It has the reluctant players, the overly zealous Christmas celebrators, beautiful landscape, and lots of Christmas cheer. Even though this story is predictable, it is filled with a hopeful spirit and sweet romantic scenes that keep the pages turning. The small town setting was perfect for this Christmas rescue and seems to set up for a few more sequels (but I guess we will have to wait and see if Nash and Marshall get their Christmas wishes).

I listened to this book on audio, and at times the narrator's voice did have a baby-like quality to it which I wasn't used to. She did a great job with the male parts and definitely kept up an enthusiastic tone. Thank you to Hallmark Publishing, Ginny Baird and Netgalley for an advanced audiobook copy in exchange for an honest and fair review.

Didn’t Quite Buy The Romance

Audiobook Review:
This Christmas romance has a very tight time-frame, which often works well in fiction as it usually gives a certain tension to a story. This book takes place over just 10 days before Christmas and goes until Christmas Day. The heroine is a Christmas specialist employed by the town council to zazz up their holiday season hoping to bring in much needed revenue into town. The book focuses on her setting up a Christmas parade, including lining up sponsors, working out logistics, and more. The hero is against the idea at the start because he sees it as being too expensive and unlikely to generate the income promised and needed. The heroine has quite the Christmas and family backstory which is slowly revealed through the book—I like that the author didn't info-dump. I actually lived in a small town that had a holiday parade, not as a fundraiser, but just as a community event during the Christmas season, and many aspects shown in the book brought back memories of those wonderful parades. The thing I didn't quite buy, while I enjoyed all the Christmas fun, was the romance. The book has such a short time span; it's hard to imagine the hero and heroine developing any strong feelings for each other in that time. An author would have to work pretty hard to make it seem believable, but she didn't for me. The book certainly had an enemies-to-lovers vibe to it at the beginning, but things resolved too easily, making for little romantic tension. At the end of the book, I was disappointed in the heroine's reaction to the hero’s proclamation of love. I wasn't wild about the audiobook’s narrator, and perhaps that's part of the reason I didn't roll with the romance aspect of the story. She did do a few good vocal stylings, including giving some characters a slight southern accent, appropriate for a story taking place in the US South. All in all, this one didn't quite bring all the Christmas feels I was hoping for.

This one was absolutely adorable! This town is struggling financially and the Mayor and town council hire a Christmas consultant to help them and nominate the sheriff to work with her. Mary comes to town full of ideas that culminate with a Christmas parade. Evan, the sheriff does not want to work with her and resists every step until he cannot help himself. This was full of joy and like reading a Hallmark movie or should I say listening to one! Loved it!

Typical Hallmark story. It follows the formula new person in town not looking for love. Meets someone that they rub each other the wrong way. Then they spend more time together and realize they aren't that bad. Something happens and one leaves town only to return and live happily ever after.
In this story Mary comes to town as a Christmas Consultant to help raise funds for the city of Clark Creek. Evan is the county sheriff and he thinks things are fine without the Consultant. That they should not be spending the money on hiring her.
Mary has some great ideas the main one being a Christmas Parade. Mary makes a big mistake that she thinks will ruin everything and end up costing the town money and her her job.

On Christmas Avenue was a truly Hallmark Christmas experience. The story is set in the small town of Clark Creek. The town needs more tourists and others to visit in order to keep going, so the town council decides to hire a Christmas Consultant, who proposes a town Christmas Parade. Evan, the county sheriff and son of the mayor, it totally against this activity that will bring in traffic and cause all kinds of issues as far as he is concerned. Mary, the consultant, is sure that a parade will be a fantastic fundraiser and bring lots of people to town. She has the answers for every concern and everyone except Evan supports the parade. As Evan and Mary are forced together over and over, they begin to have feelings for one another.

I enjoyed this Christmas story and just escaped into the Christmas spirit. This was an enemies to lovers trope which is common in Hallmark stories. I loved all the support that small towns and communities give to this type of event. Of course there has to be a roadblock of some sort and this one was a bit telegraphed, but I loved the way it was solved. The Christmas activities, family chemistry, and fun parade and activities that went with it, makes this the perfect book for a bit of Christmas magic. I did a read listen with this one and enjoyed both. I can now not wait for a movie to watch. The narrator, Amanda Stribling, does a fine job with the story, giving each character a voice. I did speed up the book as I felt the pacing was a bit slow for me, but that is personal preference. If you enjoy a Hallmark Movie, then this is for you.

*Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for providing me with an advanced copy of the audiobook for this review.*

Mary is sent to Clark Creek as their Christmas Consultant to help the struggling town for the season. Evan is the sheriff who doesn’t want the parade Mary is planning and worries that it could be bad for the town. Can they put aside their differences to successfully hold the parade and raise money for the town? And is it possible that they could also be just what each other needs?

Review: I loved this book! I’ve always been a huge Hallmark fan, and this one didn’t disappoint. The narrator was easy to listen to. I enjoyed the chemistry between Mary and Evan, and loved the supporting characters as well. It was good that Mary had people in her corner! The plot was great, and I kept wanting to keep listening. The town was so charming!. A warm holiday read, for sure.

Mary’s newest consulting project is unusual – rather than helping a struggling business, she will be helping Clark Creek, a small town in Virginia, overcome its money issues. The mayor expects Mary to come up with a solution to their problems by Christmas, which is only two weeks away. Evan, county sheriff and the mayor’s son, knows the town needs help but is certain that the “Christmas Consultant” will only make their problems worse. Mary is determined to win Evan over, and in the process, the two may fall in love.

I have loved most of the Hallmark romances I have read, but this one didn’t quite live up to their standard. It wasn’t a bad book, but I just didn’t buy into Mary and Evan’s connection or <spoiler>the fact that they would get engaged after knowing each other only two weeks and not even dating</spoiler>.

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an audio ARC of this book.
