I really loved this story. Such a great clean Christmas love story. I like the fact that the characters are so relatable. The descriptions are so well given that I can picture everything. This would make a great hallmark movie.

Ginny Baird seems to know Christmas, and Hallmark has her number. If you don’t believe me, check out her other serieses- Christmas Town and Holiday Brides. If you love cheesy, sappy-sweet romances, this is the book for you. In On Christmas Avenue, Evan, the county sheriff, knows that businesses are struggling in the small town of Clark Creek. But unlike the mayor—who happens to be his mother—he doesn’t think that hiring a “Christmas Consultant,” will help, especially when this Christmas Consultant proposes a holiday parade that seems likely to overwhelm his staff and leave the town in even more debt. Mary is sure the parade is going to be a superb fundraiser. She’s going to make sure of it, overcoming every obstacle, including those put in place by the stubborn sheriff. But in the middle of her planning, the unexpected happens: she and Evan begin to see one another in a different light. With his realistic viewpoint, especially contrasted to the outlandish Mary, I definitely relate a little more to Evan the sheriff. Full of figurative language and extra sap, On Christmas Avenue will bring you miracles and a sheriff with a bow!

Thanks to Netgalley and Hallmark publishing for allowing me to read this book early:

On Christmas Avenue by Ginny Baird is basically a hallmark christmas movie ( I love Hallmark Christmas movies, so this was a fun treat .It's exactly what you’d expect from a Hallmark Movie. It is full of holiday spirit, family togetherness, and small-town charm.

I knew the ending around chapter 2 and I didn't care.

A sweet & Clean romance from Hallmark for Christmas. Funny, cute, with sassy characters. Small town holiday romance. No relationship angst and just a bit of workplace drama. With a happy ending. Just what you need for the holidays.
Narrator is excellent, giving appropriate voices to everyone from grandparents down to the Scene stealing niece.
Four christmas tree stars. 🎄🎄🎄🎄

Thank you to Net Galley, Hallmark and Ginny Baird for an audio review copy of On Christmas Avenue.
Fans of Hallmark movies are in for a (Christmas) treat with this delightful holiday story! Mary, a Christmas consultant, is sent to the picturesque small town of Clark Creek. Clark Creek is struggling financially and Mary hopes to save them with her plan for a Christmas parade. Evan, the handsome county sheriff, and Mary clash from the minute they first meet. Of course, since this is a Hallmark book, they overcome their differences and fall in love. This is a fun and uplifting story and would be a very good addition to the Hallmark holiday movie lineup.

Thank you to Ginny Baird, Hallmark Publishing, and NetGalley for the opportunity to review the audio version of On Christmas Avenue.

During Christmas 2020 when everything was continuing to be super scary and sad during the pandemic, I fell headfirst into loving Hallmark Holiday movies. They are low stakes, not stressful in the least, and just plain nice! Do I wish there was more overt sexuality, people of color, and non-heterosexuals? Of course! I know the sexiness won’t happen but I’m sure hoping there is more representation sooner than later.

I digress…

The first revelation I clocked about Mary, the main character, is that she STARTED A CHRISTMAS CLUB IN COLLEGE. Full stop. They delivered Christmas decorations to those less fortunate. Need I say more?

It’s a Hallmark Christmas book so you know what to expect going in. Mary works at a capital consulting firm tasked with helping Clark Creek raise enough funds to save the town. If she pulls it off, she will be promoted at work and sent to headquarters in Seattle! The dream! Meanwhile, in Clark Creek, local sheriff Evan is trying to figure out how to keep everyone’s shit together. His mother is on the town council and finds out through her that they are bringing in a Christmas consultant to turn the town around. Needless to say, he wants none of it until Mary charms him so thoroughly that they fall in love in mere days.

This book was fine, just like your favorite Hallmark movie. If you love them, you’ll definitely enjoy this one.

If there is something that I enjoy as much as reading Christmas books, it is watching Christmas movies. And I'm a sucker for the Hallmark movies. So when I saw On Christmas Avenue was from Hallmark Publishing I had to read it. I listened to the audiobook which is delightful.

Just like a Hallmark Christmas movie - this is a cute, clean Christmas romance. It is pretty predictable but that doesn't mean it isn't still fun to read. I liked that there wasn't some misunderstanding or possible other woman troped that kept the lead characters apart.

Mary comes to Clark Creek as a "Christmas Consultant". The town needs a revenue infusion and some rebranding. If Mary can pull this off she is will get a promotion and moving to the West Coast.

Clark Creek is a family ran small town (I grew up in a similar town so it added a sense of nostalgia for me). But the whole family isn't on board with hiring a "Christmas Consultant" and sheriff Evan Clark is even less thrilled with Mary's idea of a Christmas parade. His mother the mayor loves the idea, but all Evan can see is the extra work for his already stretched staff and limited budget. Neither Mary nor Evan is looking for love. So you know what is going to happen.

The characters are instantly likable and you are immediately rooting for Mary and Evan.

Amanda Stribling does an excellent job as narrator. I listened to this while working and the story was easy to follow. I had no problem telling the characters apart even though most of them are related.

Grab a cup of cocoa and this book for an enjoyable afternoon of entertainment.

My review will be published at Girl Who Reads on Wednesday, Sept. 29 - https://www.girl-who-reads.com/2021/09/get-started-on-your-christmas-reading.html

On Christmas Avenue
A Christmas Romance from Hallmark Publishing
by Ginny Baird, Hallmark Publishing
Narrated by Amanda Stribling
If you love Hallmark Christmas movies, you will love this audiobook. It hits the mark, on all the Christmas charm and sweet romance. The plot is fun and heartwarming. The town of Clark Creek is in financial trouble. So they call in a consultant to work her magic. The hunky tough guy sheriff and the cute bubbly consultant are at odds right from the start. But are expected to work together, for the good of the town. The characters are interesting and engaging. Although Evan Clark was adamantly opposed to the whole idea, he was quickly swayed by the enthusiastic Mary Ward. Also considering the whole town is excited and willing to do whatever Mary says, Evan bows down to do her biding. The Christmas atmosphere is the perfect backdrop for this sweet romance.
I listened to the audiobook version of this book. The narrator Amanda Stribling, did a good job. At the beginning I thought her pitch was a bit high and a little breathy. But I got use to it. She had a good range for managing the different characters.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

4.5/5
Hallmark *gets* Christmas, and this book is no exception! It has everything that you could want in a Christmas story- Christmas trees, hijinks and mixups, a Christmas parade, and a grumpy sheriff to balance out the cheer. This is DEFINITELY a Hallmark story, so if you aren't interested in Hallmark Christmas movies, you might want to skip it, but if you are checking the schedule for the new movies- this is the book for you!
Amanda Stribling, the narrator, does a fantastic job- she balances the Hallmark cheer and bubble well, She definitely gives a different vibe from the movies, but there is still that fun and excitement in her narrration!
This book will be included on my best holiday chick lit of 2021 post, out in October!

Such a fun Christmas romance. What a novel idea - A Christmas consultant. That sounds like a job I would truly enjoy. There was a nail-biter moment wondering if Mary could pull off a successful Christmas parade to save the town instead of possibly bankrupting them. She also manages to change the town sheriff from a curmudgeon to a lover of all things Christmas. Truly enjoyable. The narrator did an excellent job as well.

I really enjoyed this audiobook - I thought the narrator was great and I loved the story. I kept picturing it as a Hallmark movie the entire time I was listening - it would be a great Christmas movie.

Mary works for a consulting firm and the little town of Clark Creek has hired her to be the "Christmas consultant" and figure out how to save their city from financial ruin before Christmas, which is only two weeks away. Everyone in town is on board to help her - except for her communications liaison, Evan - who also happens to be the sheriff. As they both struggle with fighting their growing attraction towards each other, the Christmas eve parade fundraiser is full steam ahead. After a few glitches in the parade logistics, can Mary pull this off and save Clark Creek? Can she also have that happily ever after with Evan? This is a cute story that is not to be missed.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

The town of Clark's Corner needs money and the local business need foot traffic in order for business to pick up, so the mayor hires a Christmas Consultant to put together a parade on Christmas Eve day. The mayor hires Mary to organize the parade and Mary has high expectations for its success.

Evan, the town sheriff and Mary's son, is not as excited as his mother. He is all about the bottom line and doesn't see how they can break even with the cost of the parade and the additional costs to his department. Evan has not met Mary!

Dear Hallmark:
This would make a wonderful Christmas movie for the Hallmark Channel. It has everything a Hallmark movie needs. Trust me, I'm an expert.

The characters in the book are likeable and the premise logical. The chance of romance between Evan and Mary is nice and cozy and the obstacles that befall her make for a great subplot.

On Christmas Avenue by Ginny Baird
Contemporary Christmas romance by Hallmark. Clean.
The town of Clarke Creek is in trouble fiscally. The Mayor hires a Christmas consultant although the county sheriff has doubts that anything she can do will help. Mary doesn’t have any doubts. She will put together a successful event that will convince the sheriff that Christmas can save Clarke Creek.

Adorable and filled with holiday joy. The Grinch, aka Evan the sheriff, soon has his heart filled with love. A tshirt problem just needs a creative solution.
I love these holiday romances that are sweet and heartwarming. Book or movie, a romance for the holiday is a joyous way to spend a few a few happy hours.

🎧 I listed to an audiobook that was narrated by Amanda Stribling. The performance had a few noticeable edits in the first hour but evened out quickly. The narrator did a good job with the heroine in her joy, determination and her fear. The character variances were clear and distinct. I was most comfortable with this narration at my usual speed of 1.25.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and Hallmark and DreamscapeMedia.

Mary was the embodiment of positive vibes. Her love for the Christmas spirit really came through and I found myself scrolling on Amazon for Christmas decorations. I mean this lady is contagious and leaves everyone, even our skeptic Marcus, believing that they could pull off the parade. My only gripe is that by the end of the week Marcus has proposed and Mary was able to overcome detachment issues.

On Christmas Avenue was an adorable story about Mary a Christmas consultant and Evan a small town sheriff who worked together to help save Clarke Creek by hosting a parade.

This was a heartfelt story with a bit of small town romance as I would expect from my any holiday hallmark story. Great way to get ready for the holidays
