The tiny fox lived by an apple tree so he had plenty to eat. But then the Great Boar showed up and soon the apples were gone. Tiny fox loved playing but when he does it again, the boar joins in.

Oni Press and Edelweiss let me read this book for review (thank you). It will be published March 8th.

Soon the tiny fox and the great boar are friends. But the boar wants to cross the road and go exploring. Will the tiny fox go with him?

An appropriately short graphic novel for children (and adults) about a tiny fox and a rather large boar. The fox has his lived on a small plot of land, with a nice tree, and then a great boar appears, and seems to want to move in.

Tiny fox isn't very happy with this, at first, but they come to accept and support eachother. Which is lovely. And then there's the painted art, which is beyond lovely. It's extra lovely.

A beautiful story, with rich illustrations, Tiny Fox and the Great Boar is a perfect story for all ages. I most appreciated how the lessons learned by the characters were shown, rather than told, to the readers. We get to see the characters reflect on their own actions, and grow from those experiences.

Thank you to the author, Oni Press and NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a lovely book for early readers about friendship and caring for one another, not to mention having adventures together. The message would certainly also resonate with older children, but my test audience found it a bit too "babyish". I loved the illustrations, which were simple but very evocative.

A simple quiet book about a tiny fox who gets a new friend, Great Boar. They learn to be friends, they do some simple exploring, and they grow together. This is a quiet book, nothing too wild happens but there is some simple character development. A simple lovely secondary purchase for your graphic novel collection.

A beautiful story, both in terms of the illustrations and the narrative itself. Lovely to see a graphic novel style layout rendered in watercolour so successfully. Choosing to use standard picture book text layout rather than speech bubbles makes this an easy to access tale. I love the way the book was divided into chapters, and the story takes the reader gently on a quest through the ups and downs of friendship, sharing, loneliness and contentment. There is plenty of humour and Berenika Kolomycha’s characters are entirely likeable, reminding me of Jon Klassen’s style. The landscapes and the seasons unfold before the reader and there is much to talk about, meaning this is a story that children will want to return to again and again.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Tiny Fox and Great Boar Book One by Berenika Kolomycka is an absolutely lovely children's book about the friendship between a fox and a boar. The book starts with the first meeting between Tiny Fox and Great Boar. According to the description, "see how two friends help each other and learn to be brave in this beautiful watercolor book for children."

Overall, Tiny Fox and Great Boar Book One is an adorable children's book that will appeal to fans of Winnie the Pooh and Little Bear. One highlight of this book are the stunning watercolor pictures. I really enjoyed looking at the colorful pictures. Another highlight of this book is how big it is. I wasn't expecting a 50-page children's picture book, but it was nice to have so many stories in one book. If you're intrigued by the description, you can check out this book when it comes out in March!

A gorgeously illustrated meditation on feelings and conflict. I enjoyed it, and think it will connect with little ones who are just learning to identify that others have different wants and needs than them.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publishers Oni Press for providing me with this digital arc of Tiny Fox and Great Boar Book One. It was such a beautiful book. I loved it so much.

The illustrations were stunning and so beautifully painted. The colour palette was vibrant and really added to the mood and atmosphere of the book. This book has a wonderful moral to it and teaches important lessons on the importance of friendship, teamwork and trying new things.

I love how even a an adult you can still connect to a children's story. This story is about friendship and relying on others. The fox and the boar in the story realized all the things they could accomplish by staying together instead on trying things on their own. It showed the importance of team work and being a good friend. I feel that children would not only be entertained by the story and it's beautiful illustrations but they could also learn valuable life lessons from it. P

Beautifully illustrated book. Simple yet complicated human emotions are reflected upon two main characters. I believe both adult and children who reads this book could relate to the conflict they face.

I liked the rough and loose watercolor illustrations, even though I hadn’t expected to. I think they fit the mood well and some of them were very pretty. My favorite part was the “chapter” transitions and especially the titles of them. They really added something to the whole book.

I do wish the scenes had been a little longer and that it had stayed in the moment more often — instead of moving onto the next thing so quickly. And I’m not entirely sure what the intended audience is, as this isn’t the easiest sort of story to read aloud but I don’t see older children liking it.

But I still enjoyed it and it had some good, wholesome moments. I would definitely try another book in the series.

Super cute story about friendship and about facing your fears- perfect for a night time read with the kiddo! I absolutely loved the illustrations, they were beautifully done and the color palette was relaxing. The writing was simple, yet easy to understand the meaning behind.

Would be perfect for a child that may not be too enthusiastic about a new brother or sister coming along, or a child who isn't always keen on sharing. with others. It teaches a good lesson that its OK to share and life is better 'together'.

The end message about facing fears and learning it's also OK to be scared but willing to continue to try new things was wonderfully done. It brings everything together as well showing that having a good friend to share your feelings with can help you overcome obstacles.

Overall a charming children's book and I would definitely pick up or recommend for a friend or family member expecting.

I will admit I requested to read this novel based on the cover and title. I proceeded to read it out loud to my husband and my own Great Boar: Ody. It was adorable. I love the water color illustrations. This one is like a picture book mixed with a graphic novel.

It takes the reader through the seasons on an adventure for friendship, food and warmth. It answers the age old question why does the boar and the fox cross the road.

I found the relationship between the great boar and the tiny fox charming and endearing..

Recommend this to all littles who love animals and nature.
