This was overall a fun holiday romance for me. To be honest, I found myself a little bit annoyed by the characters inability to handle their problems at first like mature adults... but I also think that if they did that this story wouldn't have been half as fun. Overall this story was a swoony holiday read.

This was a warm Christmas story. It is a second chance romance. This narrative vividly shows the extreme animosity and hatred one can carry for years. Also, that friends can be you worst enemy. My face was tight and lips pressed when reading those scenes! The STEAM is definitely present in this book. As I always state, it is so nice to revisit the Westmoreland and Outlaw clan. I truly thought I couldn't love another family more than the Westmorelands', but the Outlaws have stolen my heart as well. Reading this book has me researching cabins for a winter getaway sans the Alaskan weather and bears.

I highly recommend.

Thank you to Harlequin and Harlequin Desire for providing an eARC of this book for review.

Leslie is dealing with a ruthless competitor trying to take down her family's company. Sloan who used to have a relationship with Leslie offers her something she really can't refuse. Just spend a little time with him at a luxury retreat and talk if anything more should happen all the better.

I will admit that the whole Sloan offering her that mini vacation in the cabin seemed a bit skivvy at first. But there was a lot of catching up going on discussing the past and it was interesting watching at old attraction make it self known after a while. Then there was the whole things about her business and seeing why this guy was really going after her family business because it was really seeming to be personal and it was interesting seeing why and how'd that turn out. Overall pretty good quick read.

WHAT HE WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS introduces us to the third Outlaw sibling, Sloan. The Outlaws are the recently discovered Alaskan-based cousins of the legendary Westmoreland clan. Just like their cousins, the six Outlaw siblings are wealthy, sexy, and good-looking. Leslie Cassidy is Sloan’s love interest, and she is a worthy Brenda Jackson heroine—fine and feisty. When the story opens, Sloan and Leslie are reunited at a wedding of mutual college friends after ten years. When Sloan sees her, he is instantly reminded that Leslie broke his heart. I’ll let you discover how that happened.
Nobody writes steamy love scenes like Ms Brenda. There’s an Alaskan blizzard outside while it’s blazing hot inside. Whew! I love the story connections that pop up in Ms Jackson’s books. Look for the connection to BANE (The Westmorelands Book 31).
For my fellow romance lovers out there, the story begins with a wedding and ends with a wedding. What more can you ask for!
WHAT HE WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS is an enjoyable story that is just-in-time for your Christmas holiday “to read” book list. I recommend it for your reading pleasure.

What He Wants for Christmas by Benda Jackson (The Eestmoreland Legacy: The Outlaws # 3) brings us back to the Westmoreland family. This time, Sloan Outlaw has a reunion with the past. Leslie Cassidy, the girl who broke his heart, returns to his life in an unexpected way... and this time to stay, as he discovers that Leslie is in danger of losing the cosmetics company she inherited from her father thanks to a hostile takeover. Sloan decides to help Leslie to avoid the acquisition, with one condition: she must spend a week with him in the cabin the Westmorelands have on an island in Alaska.

Sloan has been resentful for 10 years because of what happened with Leslie, that is why her condition to help her is a kind of revenge to be able to close the cycle and move on with her life. However, he still wants Leslie and as he spends more time with her, emotions from the past awaken in him. The problem is, Sloan no longer trusts Leslie, as she left him then believing a lie. Leslie, on the other hand, suffered greatly from the separation, especially after discovering that it was all a lie. Plus, she never stopped loving Sloan. Despite the circumstances, she accepts Sloan's condition, at the risk of losing her heart again. Because she too ended up heartbroken 10 years ago.

The days spent in the cabin relive old feelings, now mature and stronger than ever. In turn, some truths come to light, causing both of them to reflect on their lives and emotions. The burning pages type sparks explode with the first glance that intertwine and increase as the pages go by, until they become an explosion of sensations mixed with the love that is evident between them, in order to reach their denouement and the happy ending the two of them they always wanted.

I liked the way the story unfolds, without extravagance but with a lot of intensity. The way the events and secrets behind Sloan and Leslie's relationship break up intertwine is complex but easy to read, leaving no loose ends and the details are very well taken care of. The secondary characters play a fundamental role in the plot, thus showing an interesting and exciting story.

There is no doubt about one thing: Mrs. Jackson knows how to tell stories, and she does it perfectly. Not to mention the setting. It made me want to visit Alaska; the scenes are so well described that you feel like you are in that cabin with Leslie and loan.

The best thing about this book? The author knew how to handle the surprise factor very well, and the unexpected twist at the end was the icing on the cake.

Brenda Jackson is just a steady constant presence in my literary world. When I need something that is a comfort and i know what I am getting and I need to be able to trust the author to just give me a good story without unnecessary backflips I turn to Ms. Brenda. Adding to my stack of holiday Black romances, too! I found the heroine to be a tad more stubborn than necessary and the hero to be believably wounded but able to turn it around. The ending is satisfying and I get what was promised to me when I opened the book.

I honestly had a great time reading this. It honestly surprised me how much I enjoyed my time with it. I really enjoyed the romance and seeing the relationship between these two. I loved that Sloan wanted to step up and help Leslie. Seeing their romance rebloom warmed my heart. I would highly recommend this second chance romance.

Good second chance story. Ten years after they broke up, Sloan and Leslie met again at a friend's wedding. The sparks are still there, but Sloan hasn't forgiven the way she left him without explaining why. However, when he hears that her company is in danger of a hostile takeover, he can't resist stepping in to help, though with conditions.

Leslie was surprised to run into Sloan at their friends' wedding and shocked when he showed up at her office to offer his help. She's reluctant to accept when she hears that he wants her to spend a week alone with him at his remote cabin. But when the takeover attempt becomes critical, she gives in to Sloan's demands.

I enjoyed the rekindling of the relationship between Sloan and Leslie. There was no doubt about the sparks of attraction that still existed between them, but both have serious trust issues that need to be addressed. Ten years earlier, they were driven apart by lies told to Leslie. Though she found out the truth a few years later, she never contacted Sloan to explain or apologize. I liked that they talked about what happened and admitted that both were at fault for their actions. Once that was dealt with, both had to face the attraction that still burned between them. Sloan is all for giving in, but Leslie fears losing her heart again.

I liked seeing Leslie and Sloan spend time together. They are different people than ten years ago, and they discover a mutual admiration. There are some sweet times together, such as their trip to visit the Yule family. There are also some steamy moments as their attraction continues to burn hot. Resistance is no longer an option when a blizzard traps them in the cabin. The intensity of their connection scares Sloan, and he pulls away when Leslie calls him out on what they have together. I ached for both as each had to face their fears. I wanted to shake Leslie for running and Sloan for not talking to her about his feelings. After an unexpected revelation, I loved seeing Sloan go after what he wanted and finally open up about his feelings, past and present. His big moment at the end was sweet and emotional. I loved the bits at the end with the other Outlaws and Westmorelands, and the epilogue was great.

The story of the hostile takeover, its reasons, and Sloan's actions to prevent it from happening were fascinating. As more information surfaced, I was amazed at what one man would do for revenge. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Sloan go up against him and the results of that battle.

Another fun, romantic and sexy book in the Outlaw series by Brenda Jackson. These characters were fun. The storyline reinforced the importance of open communication. Honesty and trust are so very important in a relationship as Leslie and Sloan realize. Not having them cost them 10 years in their relationship but can they get back on track or will a ruthless enemy continue to control both their business and personal lives.

I received a Free ARC ebook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.

Another wonderful edition to the Outlaws! I truly did enjoy Sloane's entrance into the series.

Here, Sloane reunites with his ex after a terrible breakup (of not his doing). Leslie believed a lie about her man and it caused a ten year break between them. When they meet back up, Sloane is here to help Leslie's business from a hostile takeover AND the only gifts he wants for the Holiday is Leslie unwrapped. Will she comply? Or will the past continue to keep them apart?

There is still some bitterness and grief between our couple so their journey to a HEA is bumpy but Brenda Jackson makes the story work. I'll admit, I wasn't a fan of Leslie's and I thought the "additional information she gave Sloane for the reason that she initially left him was a bit "extra STILL, What He Wants for Christmas was a heartwarming read and this reader thinks a great book to add to your Holiday reading list.

Things heat up when Sloan Outlaw gets trapped with his ex during an Alaskan blizzard! This steamy second-chance romance is a holiday treat for Brenda Jackson fans. If you like alpha heroes and the spirited women who love them, this book is for you.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

This is a Second Chance Romance with some Steamy Times, and this is the third book in the Westmoreland Legacy: The Outlaws series. Leslie and Sloan ran into each other after ten years at a old friend's wedding. They both need to get over some lies a friend say broke them up ten years ago, but Will they both be able to learn to move up and open their hearts up again. Her company is in trouble, and he agrees to save her company if she goes to a winter retreat with him during Christmas. I really enjoyed this book, and I love seeing the two main characters falling in love with each other again. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Desire) or author (Brenda Jackson) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

I’m totally in love with all things Brenda Jackson so reading this book was inevitable. She is the queen of writing a family series and im always excited when she drops a new addition to a saga. What He Wants for Christmas is book 3 in the Westmorland Legacy series and it’s all about Sloan Outlaw. After Sloan’s love affair with Leslie ends due to lies and miscommunication he is devastated and vowed to never love again. 10 years later, they reconnect at their friends wedding to find that feelings are still there. I enjoyed this second chance love story and connected with both characters. Their chemistry is one for the book and Ms Brenda took it up a notch with her detailed sex scenes. The story-line is somewhat predictable, but it didn’t stop me from smiling while watching Sloan’s plan unravel. In a short amount of time, Brenda was able to pen a sweet love story about trust, communication, forgiveness and Revenge gone wrong. I definitely recommend this book and I cannot wait to travel back to Alaska to visit the Outlaw family

DNF (2 stars to reflect that it wasn't awful, just wasnt for me) I just couldn't get into the writing style or the storyline. The conflict/miscommunication between the hero and the heroine and the resulting 10 year seperation just felt overly contrived.

Sloan Outlaw comes to the rescue of his ex that he has not seen in ten years. Trust and manipulation broke them up. Leslie Cassidy was manipulated by lies to break up with Sloan.

Her father has died and an enemy has threatened to take away her company. When Sloan learns what is happening he provides Leslie with a solution to her problem if she agrees to his offer of spending a week with him at his family cabin.

A blizzard will heat thing up and bring back old feelings. But can old hurts be forgiven?

As usual Brenda Jackson does not disappoint in another story in the Westmoreland Legacy with the Outlaws Series!

New beginnings start with old drama. Jackson turns emotions inside out with Leslie and Sloan. What he Wants for Christmas shakes up the way we look at love and inspires us to never lose trust in our hearts. Celebrate the true meaning of love with a dash of heartache.

What He Wants for Christmas is the first book by Benda Jackson that I have read. I thoroughly enjoyed this holiday romance. Leslie and Sloan rekindle their love after 10 years of lies and deceit that kept them apart. This is a unique second chance plot and I enjoyed the characters. Overall, this is a story about true love, trust, forgiveness, and Christmas. Be aware that this book has plenty of detailed sexy scenes. Oh, and plus it takes place in Alaska (my fav) and there's a snowstorm stranding them (of course)... I would definitely recommend this holiday book and look forward to reading more by Brenda Jackson in the future.

What He Wants for Christmas is another great book in the Outlaw series. Sloan Outlaw and Leslie Cassidy meet in college and then because of outside interference their relationship ends.. The story has them meeting again after ten years apart. You will get to witness the rebuilding of their relationship and the unraveling of the lies that broke them up and kept them apart for ten years. Brenda Jackson has done it again with another great book that keeps you fully engaged and not wanting to put the book down until you learn exactly what Sloan wants for Christmas and how Leslie fits into what Sloan wants. I highly recommend this book for all lovers of great romance stories.

This is second chance romance with a separation of 10 years. A lie by a friend separated them but it will take a bit of give & take to bring them back together in the form of an exchange for hero helping her save her business, she has to come to a winter retreat with him.
I liked both characters. They had a good amount of steam & believable connection. I just wish it hadn’t taken them 10 yrs to reunite. I like my 2nd chance romances to be less than 5.
