A book with a lot of emotions, love, sadness, anger. The family is important and protecting it is a priority. Join in on exciting events and hot romance with sex. Really good writer.

Tempting the Devil by Morgan James is a romantic suspense novel.

Abilene meets a man in a hotel and spends and a wild night with him. He knows her name, but she never knows his. To Abby's surprise he happens to work for her brother Con - which she finds out having returned to town to take care of Violet, an elderly lady who took her in as a teen after the death of her parents, when Con went into the service. Con and Clay served together and now work for a security company owned by Con.

Abby intends to have nothing more to do with Clay, but they are thrown together with work. She tries dating someone else, a young man called Trevor who appears out of the blue, but it's useless as she is only interested in broody Clay. When Violet's memory loss seems to be worsening and she needs to go to a nursing home, Abby begins going through her house and locates a diary of Violet's 16 year old daughter Lily who committed suicide, but not before having given birth to a baby.

I won't elaborate for fear of spoilers. This was a bit of a disjointed read that hopped around various topics going backwards and forwards between the suspense element, and the romance and individual traumas of both Abby and Clay. It made the book feel a little messy. Clay was an intense character, and Abby found him inside her home after she dated Trevor. Instead of being concerned about him being a stalker and potentially creepy AF, this is a story that confirms the narrative of the behaviour being ok because he was so into her. That's a big no for me in 2021. This was outside his being involved in a security company, beyond anything, he's in your house girl ....

The version of Abby is initially tough and a survivor but the rest of the story isn't indicative of her independence but speaks more to her being needy, and somewhat brattish.

This was a book that I enjoyed but it didn't engage me in the way I felt it would initially. And Clay's a twin, which was ironic given the way they were introduced at the start of the book. Who would have thought.

This was the first book I have read in the Quentin Security Series, and if the other books are like this I have been missing out!
The chemistry between Abby and Clay was off the charts amazing. I loved that although they were into each other really quickly, it still felt real. I loved the quirky attitude Abby had as well. I love when the heroine is a sassy woman!
The fact that this was not only a romance with HOT scenes, but it was also a thriller/mystery as well? You couldn't ask for more. How did I miss this series until now?
The author is obviously super talented. This story really drags you in and keeps you reading. I expected to be able to put it down and take a break, but that just didn't happen. I was hooked. On top of that, since this is the 5th book in the series I expected to be a little lost in the beginning. That was not the case at all. This book manages to just be a wonderful stand-alone if this is the first one you read. I know I'll be going back to read the first 4 now as well though.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
This was an unexpected read for me. The characters were in depth and I do love Cla especially, the guarded protective man, and Abby the quirky down to Earth woman.
Lots of action and mystery and the story unravels and a murder mystery is uncovered.
Love, Love, Love the preview of the next book as well. I will definitely be watching for that story! Great read.

Two strangers after a one night stand think they have parted ways for ever so it’s a shock to each when their connection is discovered.

A fast paced and exciting read with an element of danger moving it along.

Read on one sitting and really enjoyed.

Love Clay and Abby in Tempting the Devil. I've actually read the others in the series and this one was an amazing addition to the Quentin Security Series. They both have their own histories that cloud their futures and they both have to overcome them to find their happily ever after. Clay is jaded from past relationships while Abby has secrets she doesn't realize she has. Their chemistry is spot on and the relationship building worked well with their personal developments. The underlying story surrounding them is beautifully done and the twist left me in awe. I loved it and was thoroughly impressed.
