I don't think I was expecting so much honesty and integrity when I decided to read this book but Scott Hughes takes one on a journey with him to look back at significant events in his life and how in 2019 he found himself serving time at her majesty's pleasure. He's not seeking sympathy or forgiveness but he is trying to make sense of the mistakes he made. There's pain here but also hope and humour and a surprising lack of self-pity. The writing is accomplished and engaging and endearing and I look forward to reading more from this author.

This is a really clever way to tell a story. The use of QR code’s adds an innovative angle and takes the reader even deeper into an already immersive story. Some difficult topics here, but you can’t help but keep reading. A fascinating and engaging account.
