Murder most foul and a ‘sleuth’ who is allowed to go where anyone would be prohibited. I like murder mysteries with interesting characters and realistic plots and conversations that make social sense. Those elements are missing and accompanied by the most patronizing means of portraying Native American culture. There is arrant disregard for for truth in this fiction. A frozen dead body buried in snow that, in the telling, apparently continues to bleed? Come on. Stomach churning nonsense from beginning to end is apparently substituted in to replace accuracy in hope of heightening tension and suspense. It is not my cup of tea.

While I enjoyed the plot and such, it took to long for the investigation to get underway. It was a very slow read.

Its hard to not be able to find something good to say about a book- I know how hard it is to conceive of and write, edit and then send out into the universe. Unfortunately, it is tough to find nice things to say about this book.
It would have benefited tremendously from some decent editing- at the beginning of the paragraph she is frowning for all to see, at the end of the paragraph she is pulling off her mask.
I don't think there was a cliche'd thought or comment that was not included in this book.

While I tried, I eventually gave up, it was too painful to try to read.
