Omens Bite consumed my thoughts while not reading it. What was Hunter thinking? What was Mercy saying? Was she thinking? They made mistakes and are dealing with the consequences. They are learning and becoming stronger and better human beings and witches. I CANNOT wait for the next book. As a long time educator I appreciate how they are dealing with their problems and gradually learning from them. The authors did a good job sharing insight with the reader. Good solid truths are spoken to the reader. I will recommend this series to young adult readers even middle school. I especially appreciate the explanations provided for why some characters act like they do. Example abusive, alcoholic father, son following in his footsteps and how the community wants to explain it away but clearly didn’t offer support.
I recommend this book for many reasons beyond it is exciting.

3.5/5 stars
I really liked the first book of this series so I was so excited when I received an arc from the publisher!
I enjoyed this second book in the series. It had action and also invoked strong emotions.
What I did not enjoy was the “hip teen” language the authors used for the characters- I feel like it is unnecessary and won’t age well.
I don’t want to give away too much, but I’m very anxious for the third book- I NEEEEED to know how my girls, Hunter and Mercy, get out of their various trials from this book.

I got this from Netgalley and these opinions are my own. I enjoyed the first book so I was pretty excited for the second one! I do think this one had a slower start and there were aspects that I struggled to get into but it set things up for the third one quite nicely and I’m excited to see how it all ends! P.C. And Kristin Cast did a fine job with this one!

Another amazing book by two of my favourite authors. I was over the moon when the publishers got in touch to offer me the chance to read the earc and obviously it was downloaded at the speed of light but the I kind of put it off for a week because I didn’t want to devour it and then be left waiting for more for even longer. The time finally came and I picked it up and yes, I stayed up all night to read and then finish it. I was not disappointed though.

Mercy and Hunter are reeling from the death of their mother and it seems that the town is still in trouble, the ancient trees that protect the town and act as portals to other worlds are still damaged and so the sisters have to find a way to mend what is broken. There is a lot of tension between the pair of them and very early on in the book they split up, the relationship damaged and seemingly unrepairable. I was so torn at this because when reading from both their perspectives it is so easy to see both sides of the story and if they just sat down and talked it out it could have been fine but they didn’t and it made me so upset. Even though their relationship is changed, I still enjoyed reading the dynamic between the twins and their personal growth within this book is even more than the first. At points I did just want to reach through the pages and knock some sense into them though.

The world building remains the same as the first book however, we see more of the Egyptian Land of the Dead this time, through Mercy’s perspective which was very interesting, and is that a budding romance with a certain portal guardian? I think we will need to wait until book 3 for that. Speaking of book 3, I need it ASAP now which is going to be torture.

Definitely another recommended read from me. To be honest, I would recommend any books written by these women.

A wonderful and twisted tale from two powerhouse authors. I was honored to read this book and look forward to more!

This is the second book in the Sisters of Salem series. The first book, Spells Trouble, was so engaging I couldn’t wait for this sequel. In my opinion, this book is even better than the first because it compelled me right from the start, whereas with the first book it took me some time to get into it.

I love the whole twin witch sisters (twitches, lol) vibe but yet they are so different from one another. I usually don’t like a cliff hanger ending but I am good with this one and on the edge of my seat to see what happens next!

I stayed up far too late reading this one. Totally worth it, though!

Huge thanks to Wednesday Books/St. Matrin’s Press and NetGalley for granting me this E-Arc in exchange for my honest review.

Omen’s Bite expected publication date is April 5, 2022

I struggled to get through the first book in this series and decided to give this one a try…another struggle. I very much enjoy these authors, this genre, and as a resident of Salem I had high hopes for this new series. I’m disappointed. The characters are annoying and unlikable. The books drag on. I’m not going to continue with this series, if it continues after book 2, and it’s not something I’ll purchase for my library.

I loved this book!!!! P.C. Cast never disappoints! I received an ARC from Wednesday Books St. Martin's Press thru NetGalley. This is the 2nd book in the Sisters of Salem Trilogy by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast. The was so much happening, I could not put it down. There places in the book and the worlds were built so fantastically that I felt like I could leap off the page right into the story!! The relationships between the characters pull you in and you just can't wait to see what happens next. Each turn of the page left me wanting more and more. I am so excited for Book 3 to see how it plays out! So mote it be!!!! #OmensBite #NetGalley #Wednesday Books

I remember being a huge house of night fan in highschool and this book felt like very similar vibes. Would be a. great paranormal read for classroom libraries or fans of this duo's other books

This was such an awesome continuation of the story. Hunter has so much going on in this book between drama with her sister, forsaking Tyr, Jax having a new love interest and so much more. And we find Mercy trapped in, essentially, Hell and her window to leave is closing quickly. This ended on such a cliffhanger that I cannot wait til the next book comes out so I can see what happens!

Ahhhhh this was just such a great read. I just didn't want this book to end and I was sad to turn the last page. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.

This was quite a bit of a slow starter for me, happens often with 2nd in a series? I like all the mythology beginning to creep into the story. Not so thrilled with the fighting between the sisters, but they do that :) and if not sooner, then more fiercely later! I do love the name dropping of Illinois towns that are NOT Chicago, ugh. I'm from a small town in Illinois, and very little of the state is Chicago! Despite the beginning, I'm eager to see what happens next :)

Omens Bite
By P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast
This is the second book to the Sisters of Salem

I really loved Spells Trouble I've been patiently waiting for a release of them two together since ST.
It was so worth the wait.

WoW! This is a compelling excellent mystical fantasy full of amazing action, adventure, magic and great developed characters.
Really this story has everything I enjoyed in a book.
Twin witch sisters and both very different from one another.
A stunning plot that was beyond intriguing.
I felt this was compelling from the very beginning, the mystery behind the story is amazing.
Fast pacing, gripping with detailed, phenomenal characterization!
This was one of those books that was that good I stayed up all night reading it despite needing to be up early for work. I was hooked.
I have been in the mood for a YA Fantasy Witch story especially one that delved into a drama filled fantasy and this had everything I was looking for.
These two have been a powerful duo since the House Of Night Series and I can only hope they continue to write stunning book together.

"Omens Bite" was a decent sequel, but I did not enjoy it as much as the first book. While I understand why they chose the storyline, and it helps set up the third book well, I did not really care for the Hunter/Amphitrite storyline. However, I did like the Mercy/Khenti storyline, and I am curious how that is going to develop.

I received a copy of the e-book via NetGalley in exchange for a review.

This was a fantastic sequel to the Sisters of Salem series by P.C. and Kristin Cast! We continue to follow twin witch sisters, Hunter and Mercy, as they grow and learn to find their own unique identities in life. While still trying to figure out their grief, and how to heal the trees that mark the portals, they have their own adventures along their path to fulfilling their destinies! I adore the diversity of characters, beliefs and religions in this series. It’s so refreshing to see so many diverse cultures brought together into one story with full acceptance. Absolutely adore this series and cannot wait for book 3!!

These are two authors where I'd read their grocery list. My ONLY quibble is I'm not much on the romance aspect of it, but it fits and works. Overall, BRAVA!
