Jumping into a series several books in wasn't my brightest idea, but I have to say - I am so glad I picked up this book! I loved the action, the suspense, the obvious chemistry between the main characters. It was easy to be sucked in to the drama and become totally invested in the characters. Having never read this author before, I was unsure what to expect, although the reviews of the previous books all gave me a good indicator that she is a great writer. They were absolutely right. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat without drawing things out too much - just enough of a taste of not knowing what will happen next to keep me reading well into the night. It has a taste of the paranormal, though more towards science fiction since it's all focused on medical experiments creating "super soldiers." While our hero isn't a soldier, the hope is that he could become one, if only he can be controlled. Which he can't be. Sounds intriguing? Keep on reading.

Brooks Ivanov doesn't remember how he got to be imprisoned in a mad scientist's facility, but he knows for certain he wants out, whether it's through escape or death. He knows his name but nothing more. Each day they inject him with a substance that makes him mindless with rage and strength beyond imagining, forcing him to kill anyone in his path, and he fears soon there will be no coming back from what he has done. All hope seems to be lost until a new nurse arrives in his room. Camryn Bayfield has been in hiding for only two weeks when she takes a new job as a nurse and finds herself in an underground facility treating patients chained to their beds. Told they are mentally insane, she still has doubts when she sees the condition they are in. When Brooks wakes up and begins to fuel her doubts as to what kind of facility she has joined, she begins to investigate - and is horrified by what she finds. Soon she and Brooks hatch a plan to escape, but as they are forced into close quarters to stay safe, things begin to heat up. With Camryn having her own problems to deal with, adding in Brooks is making things...problematic. When their two worlds collide, it will take a miracle for them both to make it out alive.

As I mentioned, I jumped in without having read the previous books. A bad habit of mine. However, I found I was still able to dive into the story and enjoy the drama and the characters. Brooks was not the soldier he was trying to be made into, and it pained him each time he took a life. I felt so bad for him as the reader watches him desperately try to escape the future laid out before him. He has become addicted to the drug they're injecting him with, and while he wants to get away from it, he knows the withdrawal could kill him. When he meets Camryn, he sees an angel, someone who can be his salvation. But gaining her trust was just half the battle. Now it's making sure he doesn't hurt her in the process. Poor Camryn has had a hard time of it recently, having escaped being killed by her own nephew and separated from her mother while they're hiding from him. She has enough to deal with without adding in Brooks' drama as well. Camryn is a nurse though, and she can't leave someone in pain without trying to help him. Not to mention she feels a connection to him, one that transcends the bond between nurse and patient. Their romance is steamy, but the heart behind it is what captured me from the beginning. Brooks was hard yet soft, showing Camryn a vulnerability I could really appreciate. They were each other's heroes. I love that.

Looking forward to going back now and reading the previous books! And of course continuing with the series wherever it takes us next.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining read! Right from the start the storyline hooked me and I was captivated by Cam and Brooks.

This has some darker themes, with Brooks forced into captivity and enduring the brutal violence that goes along with that. The violence continues as Brooks seeks out his vengeance.

This book never had a dull moment. The pace was good and the romance had such a natural element to it. I was definitely rooting for Cam and Brooks, I really loved how they came through for each other throughout the story. I did feel their characters could've been more developed, but even still they had great chemistry with a touch of steam between them.

There are also some great secondary characters who have already had their own books or will hopefully get their own. This was the first book that I've read in the series. I am looking forward to the next one and going back to read the earlier couples' books.

4.5

I had a tough time getting into this one. I'm sure it will be a perfect read for many people. The set up was complicated and the treatment of the patients in the hospital was upsetting. I rooted for the main characters to get out of there!

Sam finds Brooks dirty & hurt, she cleans him up. Through all the drugs He realizes there is someone who cares about him. She helps him get out of there & then joins him on the journey to find the bad guys. The couples from previous books help out, along with the other two brothers.

I didn’t enjoy the weird relationship between her nephew & mom, it was forced & Unnecessary.
I did enjoy this more than the previous two, I can’t wait to see which brother is next! (:

This is the third book in the Blood Brothers series by Samatha Wilde (Keith) -- and it's another corker by Wilde!

A fantastic, hard-to-put-down romantic thriller with a medical and ethical theme. Fabulous, fast-paced writing is carrying the story to a happy ending via a few twists and turns. Highly recommended!

Brooks Ivanov, the brother of Alexis who we met in the first book in the series, has been kidnapped, sold and tortured for medical research; and personal gain of his owner. His memory is destroyed and he's at the end of his tether, believing death would be better than his current circumstances.

Camryn Bayfield is trying to keep a low profile and accepts a job working as a nurse in the Utah dessert. During her first shift she's tasked with administering drugs to Brooks, but her gut feeling tells her something is not as it should be. She starts asking questions, but doesn't get any satisfactory answers.

Soon Camryn and Brooks are running for their lives, chased by scrupulous medical professionals and for-hire-bodyguards. When a wanted notice goes out on national television, Camryn finds that her past is also chasing them.

Enter the Holmes brothers, who we've already met in the first two books, and an HEA is guaranteed.

I'd recommend reading the books in order to get maximum enjoyment, and I'm really hoping that Wilde is busy writing Dallas and Cole's stories - and that Cole never gets caught, but perhaps gets a chance at a more 'normal' life.

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this eARC.

A fast paced story filled with suspense. This was my first time reading a book by Samantha Wilde. I was immediately drawn in by the cover but the blurb is what caught my attention. From the first page the story managed to pull me in and keep me engaged until the very end. I loved the main storyline and felt as though I was able to connect with the two main characters.

Overall this book was the perfect mixture of romance and suspense. I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense novels!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this book.

Good for those who like fast-paced romantic thrillers that are a little bit out of the ordinary.

Doing what you know is right can be scary as hell, and for both of our main characters, it almost gets them killed.

In this fast-paced romantic thriller, Samantha Wilde subtly illuminates one of the more difficult pieces of the mental health field to come to grips with: who gets to define concepts like paranoid and delusional? And what level of scrutiny is given to those who make those diagnoses? And do you accept those at face value?

Questioning the world we live in aside, this was a good read with good tension, action and pacing throughout. A hearty helping of motivation is baked into the premise, and that keeps the pages turning. The love story is sweet: the (literally) tortured hero and the kindhearted nurse each vulnerable and strong in their own ways taking care of one another and growing together.

Some elements could have used some extra attention. The sub-plot with cousin Isaac was not emotionally compelling and landed flat, especially given the lengths to which Cam went to hide from him. And at times, I found it difficult to suspend disbelief. First, when when Brooks checked them into a hotel under false names (just try it today and see what happens). And Second when Brooks—her lover and a professional journalist who should know something about privacy—urged Cam to give Isaac her real address.

Overall, a good read that avoids many of the pitfalls of ho-hum fiction, and a good setup for what I assume will be Cole’s story in another book.

I have not read the other books in this series, but still enjoyed the fast-paced, dark and riveting story in Unchained. Part romantic thriller with a bit of sci-fi type details this one kept me guessing and entertained. For a gritty romance, I enjoyed seeing the female protagonist rescue the male hero.

I really enjoyed the first two instalments in Wilde’s Blood Brothers series, so I went into this with really high expectations.

Not only were they met, but the author took a dive into some sci-fi aspects that completely blew me away! I loved the medical/scientific storyline, and found it to be such a refreshing thing to be added to the series.

Once again, the story began right in the middle of some action, which I love. Nothing worse than trying to get into a story and being bored within the first few pages.

As well as this, Wilde perfectly balances the romantic storyline with the other elements that have brought our two characters together. It was still sweet and sexy when it called for it, but this book is so much more than just a romance story and has some real substance to it’s writing.

I love Brooks - I think he is my favourite of the guys from the Blood Brothers series. Thank you Samantha Wilde for yet another five star read.

A suspense fast paced story. Camryn, a nurse, takes a job to hide from her nephew. Trouble is that the job is using people as guinea pigs, injecting them and making killers out of them. Brooks had been tortured for around a year. The drugs make him forget things, and his attempts at escape kept failing. Of course the two are attracted, but issues hinder a smooth path. Good story overall, although the torture was hard to read about. Would recommend though.

This book was giving me all the captain America super soldier vibes.!!!
From the first line on page one it draws you in. It starts off full of action and it just keeps on going throughout the whole book. Even all The other characters in the background makes you want to hear their stories.
The book does have HEA ending which after what these characters have been through it's well deserved.
I'm so glad I read this book and I really hope there is more to come.

Really interesting premise and very descriptive writing and an overall enjoyable read. It was hard to suspend my disbelief regarding some of the events and character actions and I did get a bit tired of the should I/shouldn't I jump in bed with this person. Eventually, everything became over the top and the characters acted in contrived ways to make the story fall in line.

Well well well... this Arc was a gift that kept on giving.

Usually im one to start at the begining of a series but after getting this ARC i decided to break my own rules and wow!! (Of course i did have to go back and read the two previous Blood Brother installments as they are easily standalone books but also each book is part of an even bigger picture)

I loved the storyline and the main two characters Brooks and Cam there were so many steps forward for them whilst taking just as many back but it definitely kepy you engaged and along for the ride...

Talking of ride... Swoooooon!! A little bit of eye candy, muscle and kink in just the right amounts to make it a realistic story and not a far fetched grasp in introducing sexual situations into a storyline.

The storyline and the introduction to other charcters from previous books if you have read them and the hints at whats to come for future books after this installment definitely has you wanting more.

I cannot wait for you all to read this book and be just as desperate as i am for the next installment.

I absolutely loved this book! Camryn has so much empathy for her patients and this patient in particular and strives to do the right thing in this situation. Brooks is not the typical military macho man of most romance novels, which I find so refreshing! He has a depth to him and a vulnerability that coupled with his strength and appearance makes him quite irresistible. As for the plot, Cam is a nurse on the run, having her first day in a new 'hospital', where she meets Brooks, a patient she is tasked to administer a sedative to. Right from the start she realises that this institution is not what she thought it would be and she can't in good conscience administer the drugs she is supposed to. What will she do when Brooks asks for her help? Brooks on the other hand is at the end of his rope, something has to give, either he escapes or dies trying.

Overall, this romantic suspense novel was better than I expected it to be. A great mix between romance and suspense, with realistic interpersonal relationships and a love story for the ages. This is book three in an ongoing series, but for me it was the first book that I read in it, so I will definitely be going back to read the previous two books about Nash and Dare. They are not necessary to understanding this story, but it definitely provides a background that is nice to have. I hope to see more of Cam and Brooks in the upcoming books, which I will check out as soon as they are available.

I highly recommend this book to fans of well-written romantic suspense novels! I'll be checking out the back catalogue by Samantha Wilde while waiting for her new books!

This has an element of Jason Bourne to it - action/suspense/romance all put together. It's a great read that had me up late at night for "just one more chapter!" This was my first read by this author and I can't wait to look up more from her!

ARC received for review

3.5 stars

I like this one better than the previous book. Cam sees Brooks dirty and hurt. She cleans him, and that's what saved him. Even through the haze of drugs he realizes that there is someone who cares. She helps him escape, and then joins him on the road to find the bad guys. The previous couples help out, along with the last two brothers. I didn't really like the drama with her nephew and mom. It kinda felt forced at times.

Now which brother is next, Dallas or Cole, and will one wind up Detective Sophia or the naked lady? My guess is Cole will wind up with the Detective, and that will probably be the last book.

This was a fast paced story about a nurse who takes a job in order to run from her own family problems and finds herself rescuing a patient and then in the midst of a race to keep him away from his captors. On her first night she realizes things are very unusual at the facility where she works and she is drawn to one particular patient. The action moved quickly and it is an interesting premise, but I found it hard to go along for the ride given the speed at which Camryn, the nurse, jumped right in and took such a huge risk. It is also hard to believe the magnitude of the experimentation/research occurring at the facility while at the same time accepting the casual way in which a new employee is brought on board.

This is an intense read! My heart was pounding in places. Cam goes from the frying pan into the fire with her new job. Things aren't as they seem and all heck breaks out. It's got a good ending!

Cover was eye catching but blurb had me grabbing this book. My first by this author and I enjoyed it.

What did I like? Third in a series but it read as a stand alone. Several stories merged into one but it was interesting and held my attention. I read it in one sitting. Human experiment gone wrong and the nurse that saves him. Brooks is being kept in a facility under guise of being unstable when he really is a prisoner force fed mutant drugs and forced to kill. Cam comes to realize all is not right in this facility and frees Brooks. It’s an insane thrill ride.

Would I recommend or buy? This is a fast paced thrill book with some steamy scenes and a HEA! For all romance lovers, I’d definitely recommend and would love to read more by this author! Five stars!

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review!
