An interesting story with a surprise twist. I wasn't quite sure what to expect given the shaman element. Maybe more mystical? There were many references to alternative medicines and healing that was different for me but other than that, it read like any murder mystery. While I was not able to predict the ending, I didn't really find the story particularly gripping.

This one was a major disappointment for a couple of reasons:

✨It was rushed.

✨Alot of sentences were repeated.

✨Zero details in most scenes.

✨Half of the time I didn't understand what was happening, and I was like "what the hell am i reading?"

✨The Shaman was blabbering about what was going on his case to someone who wasn't working his case or in front of total strangers and that was super frustrating.

✨I debated DNFing it early on but I decided to push through because someone said that there were good twists and turns, now they would've been good and gasp worthy if they hadn't been so rushed.

✨Reading it was difficult because it's in pdf mode with teeny tiny font.

Maybe give this one a try if you're looking for something short and if you do, I hope you like it.

Thank you @netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review💕

A good thriller with an unusual detective. There's plenty of twists, it's fast paced and the characters are fleshed.
I was fascinated by the part about shamanism and I think it's well researched.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

A definite new twist with a not-so-traditional detective. The world of Shamanism was just as interesting as the mystery itself - and the plot definitely not mundane. A fresh approach that really holds interest.
