Me and my children enjoyed this story with all the characters within. It was about a girl and her new hat. She like her new hat and takes it all over different places in the story.
This was a fun story. It had beautifully illustrations. The story vision that I got only had pictures and no words. It was fun trying to come up with the story that the pictures were trying to tell us.
I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley. This is my honest unbiased opinions.

The lack of plot in this story made it a bit difficult to follow. My early reader said it was too boring. My Cool Red Hat would be best for beginning readers who are learning their heart words. The illustrations throughout the book were good.

"My Cool Red Hat" is about a little girl who loves, loves, loves her red hat. She is very attached and takes it everywhere she goes. When she interacts and wears it she feels "on top of the world".
Off they go on many adventures where she encounters a variety of interesting animals and people along her journey. Equipped with her red hat, which gives her confidence and security, she is ready to conquer her day. Her hat is her superpower!
The illustrations are colourful and expressive which marry spot on with the message of the text. Her red hat is a form of a security blanket, one which enables the little girl to be brave and builds her self-esteem. I highly recommend this book.

If you've read any of my other recent reviews, you'll know that they all start with 5 stars and that I'm always hopeful that they'll be firmly in place at the end of the book too.
I've got the first generation of Kindle, which is good for novels but maybe not so much for heavily illustrated books like this... it'll be interesting to see how it looks - I don't think any of the illustrations will be there, but I won't knock of a star for that reason 'cos they will be there in the paperback version, I just won't be able to comment on them, obviously.
Ooooh! That's different! On my Kindle it's all images and no text except on the back cover, so each time the child reads it, they can make up their own story if they have the Kindle version! Very good and very original and very deserving of all 5 stars!

This would work as a first introduction to independent reading. The word choices are simple, repetitive, and rhyming (almost Dick & Jane or Seuss-style), so it's likely that an early reader will be able to read through this and gain confidence with sight words and decoding.
I did not detect much in the way of a plot or message, but as a functional reading tool it could offer good practice.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
