Leo has been battling personal demons after a year of retrograde amnesia, not being able to remember what happen the day she found her mother's body.
Two more bodies are discovered and they are oddly linked to her mom’s unsolved murder case. Ever since she's started having vivid dreams and started to piece together what really happen that day.
Will Leo’s memories send her reeling into a relapse, or will she be able to overcome her demons to find her mother’s killer – only to become the next victim?

I have to admit I fall for this book because of the stunning cover and an interesting synopsis. However, there are some things happening in this book that I didn't agree.

First of all, the plot is actually not bad and to be honest I find myself feel interested to know what really happen to Leo's mother and the connection with the recent murders.

However, I don't feel really connected with almost all the character in this book. Leo's character is understandable since suffered a traumatic event and I'm glad she has her best friend who tries so hard to put her in the right track, but at the same time I felt frustrated reading about how she couldn't stand up for herself.
She didn't set any boundaries especially with Henry which just annoyed me even more. She just keeps making excuses for him and letting him have his way and I didn't understand why.

Henry is just right away creepy. I didn't like him one bit since the beginning. He's manipulative and he has his own way of "controlling" Leo.
Beckett, as the main love interest didn't appeal the right way with me. I thought at first he was going to help Leo or bring some positive vibe with him but it didn't turn out like that. He's a player. He's pursuing Leo but at the same time he didn't mind getting his way with another girl.

I felt confuse most of the time reading this book, especially about the ending. I didn't like how things get wrapped up in the end, it was very rushed and suddenly every mystery is solved and it's all done.

I wanted to like this one, I really do because this book definitely has potential. The mystery is there, the paranormal aspect is there and the shady characters-perfect for suspects are also there!
I feel slightly disappointed when all this good aspect about the murder mystery and the eerie atmosphere around the mansion aren't explored further to be a great foundation for the book.

Honestly, I would have given this a higher rating if the writing style is more polished and a longer as well as explained ending.

A wonderful and captivating mystery. I loved how this story started off right away and kept me on my toes all the way through. I spent the whole book wondering who done it and let me tell you the reveal did not disappoint! I would definitely re read just to see what I missed the first time around because I was shook!

'Don't Forget To Breathe' by Cathrina Constantine was generally enjoyable; however, the prose was a bit jarring and the overall plot was poorly written. I found that it had a good basis, but it was not fulfilled well for my taste.

I had to push through to get to the end of this book. It is a YA thriller and mystery, which I love, but it didn't have a very consistent writing style, and needs to be proofread further.

Overall a quick read and enjoyable if you can get past the things mentioned above

I, at first, found the premise of the book to be quite promising. However, merely two chapters into the story I decided to drop it — the writing style was less than mediocre, with an amateurish and almost juvenile voice. I tried to push past it, but the more I read, the more obvious it became that it hadn’t been an isolated sloppy scene, but it was just the writer’s permanent style. I also found one of the two characters introduced in the first chapter (who then appears also in the second one) to be absolutely revolting. In his very first appearance, he forces himself upon the main character, and the following day, he tells her he just “doesn’t take rejection very well”, as if that was an excuse for him to go ballistic after she finally escapes him. I am well aware that this dynamic must be definitely explored in the rest of the book, but I simply couldn’t deal with a story where the main character’s aggressor doesn’t even really apologize and then both of them act as if nothing had ever happened. I do not usually leave novels unfinished, but I couldn’t realistically see myself enjoying this story.

When I read the synopsis, this sounded right up my alley. I've been wanting to read more YA thrillers and I thought this would be the perfect one to start with. Unfortunately, a few aspects of "Don't Forget to Breathe" weren't up to par with what I expect from a published book.

Firstly, this book is riddled with typos, not just misspellings, which I can ignore (if there are only a few), but also grammatical errors, punctuation errors, even substituting incorrect words. The author needs to find a better editor and proofreader because whoever she hired didn't do their job well. These mistakes kept taking me out of the story and took away from the overall enjoyment.

My second issue with the book is with the main characters. They're teenagers, but they don't talk like teenagers. The dialogue was so unrealistic that it was weird. The main character, Leocadia or Leo, was unlikeable and foolish. I was astounded when she stayed friends with Henry, despite the fact that he sexually assaulted her multiple times, then later drugged her without her knowledge. Henry was a psychopath. Becket was a terrible person, even though I think the author was trying to make him "the hero." The only character I found likeable was Nona, but I thought she was crazy for staying friends with Leo.

Lastly, from the synopsis, I thought it would be more of a ghost story, so that left me disappointed. All the plot twists and reveals come at the very end of the book, which leaves so many unanswered questions.

Trigger warnings: addiction, substance abuse, sexual assault.

A few chapters into this one I realized that I had actually already read this. I went on the hunt to find out what happened and realized that this one had a different cover when I read it. I am happy to say that I still really enjoyed it though. It was a nice surprise to be able to enjoy a book for a second time around. This story was unforgettable as I turned the pages and I fell in love with it all over again. If you are looking for a book with everything from romance, to action, to a bunch of twists and turns. Then this one is the one you are looking for!

This book surprised me. It was a fast little nugget with some YA mystery, murder and mayhem! I did predict about half of the book but it was still a fun quick read for me to offset a book slump I've been in. Excited to see where else Cathrina goes from here!

An entertaining sometimes spooky whodunit. Although you kinda figure out very soon “whodunit”, but you then brush it away because you think it’s too obvious. Nevertheless a nice fall thriller to curl up with.

Hold tight and don't plan to sleep! Solid mystery with a good mix of the human factor and a good helping of red herrings. If you love a good mystery, just read it

I tried to get into this one and just couldn't. It felt like the plot dragged and the writing itself didn't seem very congruent. After chapter nine, I couldn't put myself through it anymore.

This is a enjoyable book!. A who-dun-it story!.
The Author Cathrina really goes into the mind of a teenager and makes you feel her everything the character is feeling!
Filled with suspense and unknown. Im not going to lie though honestly most of the time I was a bit confused. Maybe that was intended. Maybe others won't be as confused as I was. Still though this book made for a good, quick story. As the story went on the flow of the book did get better.
And what may not have been for me could be for you!
Still pick this one up!

I can't thank NetGalley, Publisher and Author enough for this ebook copy!

I dnf-ed it at 10%. This is just not very good. The writing varies between very dull and very flowery with little substance. The author also uses words that don't seem to match the age of the character.
