I received an advanced copy of for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The book starts with a note to the reader it tells us where this story picks up from where the last book left off. As I understand there are 3 books previously in the series, I haven’t read them as Goodreads says that this one can be read as a stand-alone so fingers crossed!
We’re following our lead characters Abigail, Laura, Kelly, Nathan and Tank.
I have to admit I requested this book based purely on the cover and title so I hope it lives up to my spicy expectations.
Question - what is sophomore year?
Answer - second year? Maybe?
This book deals with death, trauma, PTSD and depression.
Kelly - a hint of Mr Grey about him? Dark - I like it!
Part one focuses on Abigail and her relationships with her boyfriend and friends it’s a rollercoaster of emotions but it’s compulsive reading as she navigates her way through not only college life but also love and loss.
I have to admit I am fully on Team Kelly, Nathan can go suck an egg.
Part two focuses more on Laura’s perspective and her aching loss. The author skilfully communicates the heart rending pain that occurs when you lose someone you love with your whole heart.
