I don't look at reviews of books before I read or listen to them and I think that hurt my enjoyment of this book. If I'd known it would end on a cliffhanger it would have lessened by disappointment that the novel doesn't end with a HEA. Emma Walsh is 26, works in a bookshop and edits stories on the side. She has become complacent in her life working and tending to her three cats. Her best friend challenges her to get out dating again. When going to meet her online date she mistakenly stumbles onto the wrong man. Similar names confuse them both but eventually they each go on their ways. Marcus Carelli (35) is self made man running a large hedge fund. A matchmaker has set him up with a person who on paper is all he wants in a wife but he can't get the red haired Emma out of him mind.

Marcus is kind and considerate but he is also a over bearing and stockerish. There is plenty of steamy heat between the two but in a very lust driven way. I really like Emma and I suppose it is many readers fantasy to be swept away by a billionaire. But not everything worked for me. Marcus focus on his addition for Emma is too over the top. Everything and I mean everything about her turns him on. And as I mentioned above you have to read a second book to get the conclusion.

I'm actually reviewing the audio book (which I'm guessing is new as the novel came out in 2019). The narrators did a great job. I like when there is duel POVs that two narrators are used. Sebastian York and Ava Erickson each bring their characters to life. It makes it easy to know who is talking and thinking at the time. The nice thing about the book being a couple of years old is that the sequel is out and I will read it to see how these characters finally get together. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and Dreamscape Media for an ARC audiobook in exchange for a honest review.

Ok this one was a fast read and by the end I immediately picked up the conclusion to this duet.

Ava Erickson and Sebastian York did a great job.

There is something always so intriguing about two characters that are pretty much opposites finding a common ground and falling for each other. I always love the use of the trope in which only one particular person is the special piece the other person is missing in their lives. Emma seems to be that for Marcus, and she is able to bring out a side to him that isn't always the alpha billionaire that he seems to put on display most of the time.

This story was so enjoyable, and the use of a slight mix up of identity bringing these two characters together worked really well. I loved being able to see this story through both perspectives. Being able to see the story not only through the heroine but through the hero as well allows for more understanding about them to be present. They both are attracted to the other, and through time they end up falling in love which isn't something either of them expected.

The cliffhanger ending has me wanting to pick up the next book in this duet immediately. I hope I can get approved for the next audiobook if it is put on NetGalley. I need more of Marcus and Emma in my life.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape for an arc of this audiobook.

I love this author, she is one of my go to authors for adult romance. This book has everything you want in that genre and having an audio version is even steamier!

This is great for those that like the introverted bookworm that accidentally meets a bossy rich guy. Only downside was the cliffhanger.

The narrators did an excellent job.

This book is HOT!

When online dating and a matchmaking dates happen in the same place, is easy to get mixed up especially if the names are similar, right? That's what happens to Marcus, a Wall Street millionaire, and Emma, a bookstore clerk. They are both shocked to find the other is not what they expected but even after realizing about the mix up they can't stop thinking about each other.

I really enjoyed this book! Did I mention is hot? because the temperature rises when you read it for sure! I also found the characters to have a very defined personality that played well in the story and their growth was organic and the story never felt forced. There's obviously chemistry between them and it made it easy for me to devour this book! The moment I finished it I rushed to get the second one because I needed more!

Thank You so much for letting me listen to the Wall Street Titan! it was an amazing audiobook and I generally found myself getting lost in it. The book itself and the narrators made it very enjoyable. I also posted a review on my book Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CUJZXsjr2Iq/ if you would like to check it out :)

4 Stars
The Audiobook is fantastic.
Marcus Carelli has it all: wealth, power, and the kind of looks that leave women breathless. A self-made billionaire, he heads one of the largest hedge funds on Wall Street and can take down major corporations with a single word. The only thing he’s missing? A wife who’d be as big of an achievement as the billions in his bank account.

A cat lady who needs a date…
Twenty-six-year-old bookstore clerk Emma Walsh has it on good authority that she’s a cat lady. She doesn’t necessarily agree with that assessment, but it’s hard to argue with the facts. Raggedy clothes covered with cat hair? Check. Last professional haircut? Over a year ago. Oh, and three cats in a tiny Brooklyn studio? Yep, she’s got those.

And yes, fine, she hasn’t had a date since… well, she can’t recall. But that part is fixable. Isn’t that what the dating sites are for?

A case of mistaken identity…

This was a good story. I quite enjoyed it. I feel like books one and two could have been combined, I don’t think the story warranted two separate books. I also think the female lead focused one the less horrible of the things the male lead did and that made the story less engaging.

I did enjoy the narrators for this book. They were well suited for the characters.

DISCLAIMER: I received this book free from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I got to listen to the audiobook version of the book and I was hooked from the first chapter. The chemistry between Emma and Marcus was electric. After a misunderstanding both Emma and Marcus couldn't forget each other or the passion they felt for each other. This was an amazing romance novel and I can't wait to read the next book. The audiobook format of the book is great. The narration from Ava Erickson and Sebastian York was excellent and brought the story to life! This is a book and audiobook I would recommend to all romance novel lovers!

I absolutely loved the narrators for this! That’s always the trickiest part for me to enjoy a audio book is if the narrators fit the story to my liking, and they did!

I absolutely loved this couple. I loved that possessiveness shown through from Marcus. I didn’t expect there to be a cliffhanger from this book though. Which for an audio that I now have to go pickup the paperback of the second to find out what happens I was a bit disappointed but that’s really on me for not researching (since I like to go in blind).

I think this book started off really well. I was super invested in the two characters and I wanted to see more chemistry going on between them. They both were attracted to each other and they just could tell that there was something happening. But it started to get out of control in the middle where the guy starts to get a little possessive about her and he starts to back off for some reason. The girl thinks that their relationship is over and is heartbroken. I thought it was getting a little dramatic and they could have fixed their relationship at the end and a second book would be unnecessary in this situation. I don't think I will be interested to read the sequel.

An insta love with on over the top hero, who is blindsided his perfect girl on paper is different than the red head who captures his attention.

Marcus is in his mid 30s ready for a trophy wife who doesn't mind a his lifestyle and busy workaholic schedule. Emma is in her mid 20s living her happy life with her three cats to appease family and friends she is on a dating app to meet other singles in New York. Emma on her way to meet her date Mark, mistake Marcus for her date, who is meeting Emmaline. Right away Marcus and Emma get off on the wrong foot on a misunderstanding but have an attraction that is insta and steamy.

I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed every single minute! I found myself down the aisle of Costco laughing and blushing at the entire antics. Emma is battling her personal issue that keep her independent and providing for herself. Marcus is a billionaire hedge fund who wants to give Emma everything. Marcus is over the top with his actions to get in Emmas life, he has his own battle trying to get Emma out of his system which proves to be difficult. After that cliffy, I will definitely be going out and purchasing book two.

Marcus and Emma were both set up on blind dates. One problem Emma is supposed to meet Mark but meets Marcus and Marcus is supposed to meet Emmaline and meets Emma.

Emma is a quiet broke bookish cat lady and Marcus is a possessive billionaire alpha male.

This book is filled with funny, sweet and swoony moments. It’s also a sexy fast paced, light, insta love read.

Emma was a little to obsessed with the cats and it ends with a cliffhanger. 😬

The narrators had me hooked and I didn't want to stop listening.

Thanks to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media, for this audiobook, in exchange for a honest review.

When I read the ebook of this story back in 2019 I was frustrated with the whole experience for a lot of reasons, the main one being the misinformation this book is part of a duet, therefor, not a standalone, but also the characters in general. Marcus was A LOT to process and had the communications of an elephant. None, he had zero communication skills LOL Emma came across as ditzy and not very *smart*, but really, SHE WASN'T. The author, however, didn't really do a good job of exploring or developing either of them on the page so that's why they came across that way. Anywho, at the time of my reading, I didn't go into this much detail because this was a duet and I didn't want to give away any of the storyline before the second book released.

I'm mentioning all this now because while I listened to the ebook, I honestly felt none of those things as vividly as I felt them before because the comedic relief of the story took center stage. Listening to the story allowed me to enjoy the ridiculous shenanigans that Marcus made of his entire pursuit of Emma and also Emma's complete lack of even understanding of the world in general and rigid views on *money*. The entire story was comedy GOLD!

However, no matter how much comedic relief this story held, it's still a very superficial read with very little to almost zero depth. Both Emma and Marcus have life circumstances that they carry on their shoulders that define their views and how they behave and none of it was really explored. This could have been so much more than what it turned out to be and even tho I laugh-cried thru most of the audio AND immediately purchased Wall Street Titan: The Complete Duet so I could continue to listen to their story, I'm very disappointed by that!

The performances of both Sebastian York and Ava Erikson was outstanding. The production had a few dead air pockets to it, but nothing so overt that it got in the way of the listening experience.

The billionaire and the bookish cat lady!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧
Romance: 🖤💜🤎❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📙📕📗📔
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎
Character development: 👱🏻‍♀️🧔🏻‍👩🏼‍🦰🧑🏼

The heroine: Emma - works in a bookstore and has three cats that she treats like children. She hasn’t dated for a while and her best friend talks her into signing up for a dating app. Emma gets a message from a guy named Mark who also has cats that he loves and agrees to meet him at a restaurant for a date.

The Hero(es): Marcus - a billionaire hedge fund owner who spends most of his life working on growing his business. He is thirty five and wants a wife that will fit into his life and lifestyle with ease so he consults with a matchmaker who works with wealthy clients. She sets him up with a beautiful high society woman named Emmaline.

The Story: I’m sure you can guess what happens when Emma meets Marcus at the restaurant. Neither is what the other expects and they immediately rub each other the wrong way. Though when Emma storms out, Marcus can’t stop thinking about the feisty redhead.

The story was good and the audiobook seemed to be over too fast. It doesn’t help that it ended in a cliffhanger, but I did enjoy the give and take between the down to earth Emma and the New York power broker. Marcus had a set of characteristics he is looking for in the perfect wife and Emma doesn’t fit so he is dumbfounded by the fact that he can’t get Emma out of his head.

Marcus becomes a bit of a stalker and after finding out nearly everything there is to know about Emma, he is determined to get her into bed thinking that once he does that, he can move on to Emmaline or someone like her.

Emma on the other hand, also is thinking and dreaming of Marcus but she has some hang ups after growing up with a mother that was a user and a gold digger. So the fact that Marcus is so wealthy is not something she wants at all. While her best friend keeps pushing her to go for it.

The narration was terrific. The book was dual POV and the narrators were Sebastian York and Ava Erickson. Sebastian has a deep gravelly voice that is perfect for a dirty talking Hero. Ava Erickson has a very pleasant voice which fit Emma to a T.

I voluntarily listened to & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

This is a cute sweet read. I liked both Emma and Marcus, the financially challenged cat lady and the billionaire hedge fund manager. This is the first time I have dipped my toes into this side of the romance genre and I was not disappointed. I got exactly what I was looking for in an all consuming relationship that made me blush and hoped no one could hear what I was listening to. There was a major cliff hanger and I have already ordered the next book because I have to see what happens next.

I was really looking forward to this and had some really high hopes for it.

Unfortunately, though it’s pretty generic. There’s only about a paragraph to each different, devotion type thing.
a lot of times there’s only a little bit of original text a lot of it is extra Bible verses.
I don’t know I just feel devotionals, often times offer more than just simple Bible verses. a little bit of time.
There’s normally a story or a message as well as more resources available.

You don’t like actions, one can take in things one can do.
As well as other resources, like other books to read or whatever.

Where this didn’t have much of that at all. It’s simple and basic. This might be really good for like somebody who’s just starting up their faith journey.
But for me someone has been doing this for a while I need more.

Bookworm “cat lady” meets wall street billionaire, opposites attract romance…what’s not to love….well, I’ll get to that in just a little.

The premise of this one really brought me in. We have Marcus who is looking to get married and hires a matchmaker and Emma who matches with a fellow bookworm on a dating app. Lines get crossed and Emma and Marcus end up on a disastrous date with each other instead of their actual dates.

Color me intrigued

I am a HUGE sucker for books with a character that works in the bookish community (Emma works at an independent bookstore and is. a freelance editor).I also have a weakness for cats in books because they are always so sassy (and they did not disappoint in this one). In short, this had all the makings of a book I’d love.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish it. DNFing at 63% (though if I’m honest, I wanted to DNF long before that)

The reasons why?

1. To me there were some comments made in this book that I’m not sure that they were necessarily borderline fatphobic, but they made me uncomfortable. I got my first red flag when Marcus put an emphasis on only wanting fit girls in his meeting with the matchmaker. But it wasn’t enough to deter me. After all, preference is preference and I knew there was emphasis on it to help set up the opposites attract trope (Emma is a curvy red head and he asked for a fit brunette or blonde) but I felt that we could’ve gotten the vibe of opposites attract through their lifestyle/personality without focusing on her weight. But alas, I looked passed it. But then there was continuous references to weight. Emma makes a comment saying maybe he felt disappointed that she didn’t look like her dating app pictures but she’d lost weight since then so she should look better 😳 ugh. There was another instance where Marcus’s friend made a comment about people falling for easy weight loss scams and being too lazy to put in the hard work. I believe there was a couple more comments made but I can’t remember the exact details.

2. The chemistry didn’t work for me. We were told a lot that they were turned on by each other but there wasn't much on paper showing their relationship growing. So it wasn’t as believable. Though I’m sure this built in the part I didn’t finish, so take this negative as you will.

3. I didn’t like Marcus… at all. This was the biggest thing that probably deterred me. I was surprised by this because I usually like the in charge, alpha male but he creeped me out… Unfortunately, I care about the characters above everything else, so it doesn’t matter how great the plot may be or what tropes are done, if I don’t like a character, it is very difficult for me to get into a book and Marcus just didn’t do it for me.

He honestly was kind of a douche. He refers to his real date as to having beauty like a thoroughbred??? He is constantly making remarks about wanting to sleep with Emma which normally I wouldn’t mind but he came off sleezy and like a pig. She texts him and his thought was “I hope this is a booty call” which as someone who went to a matchmaker to find a soulmate it seems weird that that’d be his sole focus…. Where I stopped reading this book is when he made a comment that once a man f**ks a girl, he owns her. Nope…nope… I was done.

I have never read anything by this author before so I don’t know how this one compares to their other ones but I unfortunately could not get into this one.

Since I DNF’d this book, giving a star rating is difficult because I don’t think that it’s 100% fair considering I still had 37% to go. I do have to post a star rating so I will give it a 3 (the parts I read would probably be a 2 but I’m bumping it up a star because even if I ended up loving the last bit, I still couldn’t rate it above a 3 due to how much I disliked the first 2/3rds of it.

I would encourage anyone interested in reading this one to read other reviews instead of taking my word for it . If your not as character focused when it comes to your reading preference, this one may work for you.

I will say, despite not liking this book, the narrators did do a phenomenal job with this one. I would give them a five star rating as the audiobook itself was well produced. It was just the content that was lacking.
