I love this book. It is transformative and changed my life. It not only showed wisdom and strength, but it revealed a sincerity that allowed you to connect to the author even if you don’t struggle from the same demons.

Loved this book! Many times I would be nodding my head thinking ‘yep this is me.’ Great trips and practical advice to let go of things that don’t matter & to ‘live fully.’ Looking for more from this author!

Good story about her life and how she overcame alot of things, It was a great narrative. My only hold up is the writing but i feel like that happens to be alot with NonFiction.

This was a bit mixed for me, on one hand I loved the advice, quotes and overall positive outlook vibes but on the other hand it was a bit flat and repetitive for me in places. I suppose I read a lot of self help books that give advice, how to action things and step by step processes. This however, does not do that it just broadly gives guidance and quotes which is perfectly ok but just not enough structure for me. I feel it was more of an autobiography than a self help.

It was a really easy book though and definitely worth a read.

Thank you Netgalley.

What a breath of fresh air! Mallory provides great life lessons and she does it as if you both were sipping a great cup of coffee. Her stories from going to rehab and how her family embraced her during and afterwards show why family is do important to her. There are Mallory nuggets of wisdom on each page! A truly uplifting read.

Living Fully aims to give us a wake up call from living in a rut. It is a guide to find meaning in life. Mallory Ervin tells her personal stories and her journey to living fully.

I enjoyed the stories and some advise were truly a wake up call. In terms of delivery, it was not really for me though I did like how it was very conversational.

Overall, this book really encouraged me to start living fully too. Thank you Convergent Books for the free copy on Netgalley. All opinions expressed are my own.

I really enjoyed reading Living Fully by Mallory Ervin. When I first started reading the book, I had no idea who she was. But, apparently she was Miss America, and was on the Amazing Race. It was really interesting to hear about her experiences, but the main lesson that stuck out to me from this book was that we can still fall even when we have it all. In fact, the fall may be even more difficult. I appreciated Mallory's honesty in writing this book, and how she didn't shy away from challenging topics, such as her abuse of prescription drugs. Through all of the highs and lows in her life, she came away stronger and able to offer advice to those struggling through some of the same issues that she did.

In a way, we all struggle in some of the same ways. We all compare ourselves to others at times, use our accomplishments to define us, and strive to the point of making ourselves ill either mentally or physically to live that perfect life. This book offers hope and encouragement, that we do not have to live like this anymore. But even if we fail, and we will, we can pick ourselves back up through the grace of God, and keep going.

Some quotes that stood out to me in this book were:
"Because I can tell you, it's amazing how much better we feel when we direct our energy into actually living our lives rather than escaping them."
"Real lasting change can occur only if we make it a transformation from the inside out."
"An inheritance of silver and gold will only get you so far. There is nothing more valuable than human capital. I have seen the power of a living legacy, one in which we offer a piece of ourselves. Our life will expire. Our legacy will live, both now and forever."
"The rubber balls, they're the things that can be dropped over and over and they won't break. The things that don't matter as much - our houses, our laundry, our schedules, our manicures - they can fall to the ground and bounce right back. They don't shatter. They'll always be okay."
"When I remember my faith, my recovery time gets shorter and whatever problem I'm dealing with isn't as likely to steal my joy or to bleed into every area of my life."
"Rather than reaching stretching, needing, and desiring more, bigger, and better somewhere out there in the future, we can start looking around us and seeing the splendor within our current view."
"I firmly believe there is potential for an abundant life in the things we already have; we simply have to open our eyes to it. And then if something doesn't fit, redefine what joy is for you now."
"Just like how our pain can be the catalyst for strengthening our character, our darkest moments can lead to our life's purpose.

I would recommend this book if you are going through a tough time, or just need a reminder of how to look past the struggles in your life, to live a more vibrant and fulfilling life.

Mallory's story was inspirational. She left no stone unturned and her bravery and vulnerability is remarkable. This story is certainly one a college student could benefit from, but not something I'd spend time analyzing. It is very straight forward. I would have enjoyed hearing more about her life since then and how she keeps her motivation high in greater depth.

This is my first time knowing about the author and the book and even though I was a bit skeptical, I read without any former bias which kinda ended in like first 50 pages.
The book and the stories are beautiful!!
the advice that she gave, Ummm??

There is nothing wrong with privilege, in fact, I am working hard so that I could give my children all the luxury I could not have in a similar manner that my parents gave me, what matters and especially in a book to 'help' you is the 'humbleness' factor to accept that and then move forward with the advice. A more holistic approach. Something this book entirely missed upon.

If you are reading this as a book, good choice.
If you think this one will change your life, nope!

I love Mallory Ervin and I love how real she is in this book. She’s such a put together person that it’s refreshing to know she is just like everyone else and struggled through life also.

Great book from cover to cover. I absolutely enjoyed all of the friendly advice and having someone cheer me on, even if it's from a book. Would recommend to others.

This book was recieved as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

So real!
Mallory lets you in to her whole story. The good and the bad and how she came out of it.
A great bio that shows that people that seem put together aren't always put together.

Are you looking for a different way to look at changing things in your life? If so, then this is definitely a book that you should pick up. I enjoyed looking at things in a fresh way and using the new ideas from Mallory and those that she sparked in me as I read her book. Not the same old, same old in self-help, this is a great book with real and new ideas.

You might know Mallory Ervin from her appearances on The Amazing Race or maybe from beauty pageants like Miss Kentucky or Miss America, or you might know her from her podcast and blog… Or maybe you’ve never heard of Mallory Ervin. Regardless, “Living Fully” is a captivating read about reclaiming your life, fully.

If you feel stuck, trapped, or trying to control it all, this book is for you. Ervin shares practical tips and real life stories about her own journey to living fully. Ervin reveals her own life openly and honestly with readers, everything from her highest highs to lowest lows. Her candor is refreshing and makes “Living Fully” a great read.

In the end, I gave “Living Fully” 3 stars. It was a good read, but I wanted Ervin to dig a little deeper. This book is a beautiful motivator for a wake up call, but at this stage of my life it wasn’t a pep talk that motivated me.

Thanks to NetGalley and Convergent Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!
