Five boys accused of horrible acts that did not commit, banished from their homes, and sent to Turner Academy, a school for troubled boys. They become brothers of the heart and are affectionately known as the Turner Terrors.

This is Donovan’s story. When both his father and his brother die in a carriage accident, Donovan Martin is forced to give up his career in the army and return to England as the new Duke of Haverhill. When he arrives at Haverhill, he meets his neighbor, Lady Wynter Day. Wynter is intelligent, industrious, and independent. She is a tomboy, enjoys being in the company of men, and insists she will never marry.

This is a well-written story with lots of emotion and a twist or two. The characters draw you into their story. There is an almost instant attraction between Donovan and Wynter. They spend a wonderful Christmas with Miles and Emery and Wyatt and Meadow. Just as it seems happily ever after is possible, tragedy strikes. I love that Finch steps in to help Donovan face the challenge. An engaging story, and a happy ending for another Turner Terror. I enjoyed it and recommend it and the series.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

Donovan is the third of the Turner Terrors to possibly find his forever love. Having been accused of killing his mother, Donovan was banished from his home and left to make his way in life. The military has been his home and the men, his family, until the untimely death of his father and older brother.
Wynter has loved Sam as a brother. His death is upsetting and finding out that he had a younger brother to assume the Dukedom is a surprise. A bigger surprise is that she is attracted to him. Her father, knowing that she will need a home when he passes, has set Wynter for life and she has no intentions of marrying.
When Donovan and Wynter meet, the attraction is very mutual. As they navigate friendship and love, they will need to overcome all obstacles to find their forever-together.

Donovan Martin finds himself the new Duke of Haverhill after a carriage accident kills his father and brother. On his way to the family estate he comes across his closest neighbour Wynter Day.
Wynter lives with her Dad and never plans to marry. She loves her independence and never wants to be subservient to a man. Wynter loves doing as she please and being on her own.
Wynter and Donovan become friends and on one horse ride together Wynter falls and sprains her ankle. There is no one at home to look after her so she agrees to spend a few days with Donovan.
Could this friendship turn into a love match.

I really loved this story. I enjoyed Wynter and thought she was a great character, strong and independent. She clearly knew what she wanted out of life and was completely thrown by her feelings for Donovan.
Donovan has to learn how to be a Duke. He has been in the army for so long I think he had forgotten what normal life is like. Even though Donovan and Wynter were a well matched couple I did not particularly like Donovan. I got the it’s my way or the highway vibe from him and this was everything Wynter did not want in a marriage.

We also get to see how the Turner Academy was formed and how the Turner Terrors became friends. And It was really great that characters from the first two books were included in this book.

This is a great series and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I love the Terrors, so far I have enjoyed the series a lot. I think Alexa Aston is a brilliant writer and her books flow seamlessly from one to the other, although each can be a stand-alone, I do feel it is better to have read the series however.
With regards to this book, though, I must say that it was not my favorite. I actually really like the first half of the story and thought it was going along really well but then............

*Spoilers*

Then we come to the Christmas house party part and for me, that's when it fell apart. Wynter suddenly was acting as if she were lady of the manor, especially in giving directions and orders, and the sprained ankle routine was take just a bit too far. I also did not sense Meadow's character in this one, she was a bit indifferent and bland than in the book previous which wasn't true to her. I did feel Emery though. The other men are there but really are background.
When the carriage accident happened and the aftermath, this book completely was shattered for me. I wasn't sold on Donovan's character to start with when he became a duke but I felt he turned into someone much worse afterward, then when he lost his arm, he was impossible (even given his depression which I can allow for) and I honestly don't see how Wynter was able to get back with him.
My thoughts on the amputation issue- I was actually disappointed to see this scene because I felt it was too similar to what the mother had gone through, yes, I can see the point the author was making but it was far too cheesy in a way to use especially given what the mother had gone through. I think the entire goal and points made when Finch was talking to Donovan afterward could have still been just a poignant with having another type of injury or tragedy.
I also felt there were a lot of lost words throughout the second half of the book, or page filler. Alexa Aston is far too talented of an author for this so it disappointed me to see sentences and scenes that really did not need to be there.
What saved this from being totally disappointing was Finch. I cannot wait for his story!

Overall I do recommend this book as it is part of the series, the middle is not the best but it all gets wrapped up neatly at the end.
I received an advanced copy in exchange for my review.

Donovan and Wynter

Another amazing book in this series. Donovan and Wynter's story is full of heartbreak and longing. Heartbreak over the loss of Sam, and longing for tragedies in their past to never happen. Wynter is fierce and refuses to conform to what the ton expects. While Donovan has to learn how to be a Duke, he also just wants to be himself with none of the frivolous extras that come with the title. They way Wynter and Donovan grew together is really beautiful. I will say I was thrown for a loop at the end, It made me really think that Alexa Aston did not like them very much... Even so, it is an excellent book.

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third book in this series about five life long childhood friends, none of them in line to become Dukes and through many different situations slowly they all are.

I really enjoyed the character of Wynter she is a very strong independent woman who has found her place in the ton. She has zero thoughts of marriage and that is a hard line in the sand between her and Donovan. Donovan I didn't fully get the feel of what the other books had described of his character, saying this I still loved him and his fight for Wynter. I did not see that end coming and it through me for a loop/ knocked my socks off. Another great addition to the series.

I really love this series. This book is a bit more tragic but it worked.

Lady Wynter is resigned to a single woman's life because she doesn't want to lose her rights in marriage. Donovan, the womanizer of Turner's Terrors, finds himself immediately drawn to the one woman that doesn't want him. After realizing she's the one for him, he begins a campaign to win her heart and hand. When a tragedy threatens to break them apart, Wynter shows Donovan that she's capable of handling any challenges that come their way. I loved that they were both attracted to each other against their will. It made for some nice tension.

I was not expecting that ending. It gutted me. I sort of liked it because sometimes these heroes don't face enough adversity. And so while the ending is somewhat tragic, it made the story that much richer. I really want to read Finch's book, I am so curious about his back story and loved that we got to see more of him in this book.

This is the third book in the Dukes Done Wrong Series. I love Alexa Astons books and the other two in this series so I was excited to pick this one up!

This series follows 5 boys who found themselves banished to a boarding school by their family, being accused of a crime they did not commit. These boys became best friends while at this school. Each book follows these characters as adults. This book follows Donovan’s character.

Lady Wynter is Donovan’s neighbour and declares that she’ll never marry. I really liked her character! She wants adventure and is independent! She doesn’t care what society thinks, doesn’t care to have children or marry. We love to see a strong female in historical romance and Wynter is certainly that.

I liked Donovan’s character, probably less than the other Duke from previous books in this series (hence 4 stars) but his interactions with Wynter were really cute! I think Wynter 100 percent made this book though!

I loved seeing the other characters from the previous books and their interactions! A true found family for all of the “turner terrors”

This book had one of my favourite tropes
(Nurse back to health) for both characters....I think I like this so much as it creates great romance content and because I’m a nurse hah.

This book is set mostly during Christmas time so it’s the perfect read for the winter season!

Overall I really enjoyed this book! It was a short, cute romance with lots of twists and some steam!

Another great addition to the series ‘Dukes done wrong’ with Donovan Martin, the new Duke of Haverhill, inheriting after an accident claims both his brother and father. Banished to Turners after the death of his mother, he finds lasting friendships with the Turner Terrors. It is these men who provide the support for him to become a solider of rank in the army, before returning to the family estate. There he meets his neighbour, Lady Wynter Day, a friend of his brothers. Yet as soon as they meet, both feel a strong attraction. Donovan is determined that she will be his duchess yet Wynter is determined to stay single. Yet after an accident, Donovan invites her to stay with him over Christmas. It is over this time, that Wynter begins to question her long held belief.
This was a great story and the twist at the end, had me wondering how this story would end. Both Donovan and Wynter are two determined characters, yet so suited to each other. I must admit that I also enjoyed reading about Finch, another Turner Terror, and a pivotal character in this story. I look forward to reading more about this group in the next book.

Sweet and simple romance with strong characters. Donovan is the second son of a duke and never dreams of having the title. Wynter enjoys her freedom and decides never to marry. The story revolves around them getting to know each other and themselves as they challenge each other to change their perceptions. Well written and works as a stand-alone novel. An easy read. I haven't read the other books in the series, but am interested in doing so after reading this one.

❤️❤️❤️❤️
💋💋
Very entertaining book from Alexa’s Duke’s Done Wrong Series.
All storylines are connected in the series, this is book 3.

Five boys sent to a school for youths who have done Wrong or are just unwanted by their families.
These boys grow up, are best friends, join the army in some cases, rely, help and depend on each other, throughout their lives.
They have their own adventures but are never separated for long, even after marriage.

Their stories connect, they star in each other’s books and are linked in so many ways.
This is a wonderful series that is very entertaining and satisfying to read.
This is Donovan's story.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as the other in the series I’ve read but overall, I’d still recommend it. The one thing that really felt off for me was the characters deciding they wanted/cared for/loved each other. The changes felt a bit abrupt to me, a bit like a switch was just flipped on their feelings. But I did still enjoy their story and their journey and I’ll be looking forward to the next book. Hopefully that will be Finch’s story because after the new glimpse we get of him in this book, I really do not want to wait until book 5 for him to take the spotlight (though I expect I’ll have to).

We meet the next Turner Terror and even though he really didn’t begin as a terror but he became one. Damn Donovan and his “it is for the best” attitude really pissed me off. But what can I say, he totally redeemed himself and turned out to be a humble, wonderful man. I know a lot of people might not like Wynter very much but hear me out. She has seen what loves does and how controlling men (in this period) can be. She just wanted to make sure she did not end up like them. There is a plot point in the story which I will not reveal but let me say that history repeats itself and I must have teared up through at least a third of the story. When stories bring out emotions that strong they are good books in my opinion. Alexa has done great by Donovan and Wynter and I loved their story. Miles and Wyatt and their significant others and Finch and a little of Hart show up in the story. Finch is so fantastic and I am looking forward to his story.

I received this book as an ARC from Netgalley. This is my favorite book of the series. Both Donovan and Wynter are stubborn and headstrong. They both love each other, but she doesn't want any man to control her. I loved the way the characters from other books in the series were included. This book has some surprises in it. I gave it 5 stars, and highly recommend reading it. This is so far my favorite book of the series.

Not for me 3.5*
I enjoyed the beginning and end of this book, but the middle didn’t hold my attention unfortunately as nothing seemed to happen. It was well written though and I would certainly give other books in this series a try.

Very very interesting read. Couldn't put down the book. Read it twice - from top to bottom - without any break.

We get to meet the characters from books 1&2 in the series and it felt very good.

Wynter and Donovan were great to read about.

The first time I read, Wynter's very first interaction with Meadow and Emery seemed a bit hasty without much preliminaries; but when I re-read it, I did realise, there are a few of us who tend to open up faster even with strangers the first time we meet.

In the flow of the book, I wasn't prepared for the incident right before the climax (fyi it's a HEA) but glad the protagonists found their way back to each other.

Waiting to read about Finch & Hart in the next books..

Donovan Martin, the new Duke of Haverhill, inherits after a tragic accident that took both his father's and brother's life. Having been banished from his home by a cruel father when he was ten years old, Donovan doesn't know the first thing about being a duke, but he's not afraid to ask for help. When he meets his neighbor, Lady Wynter Day, he feels an instant attraction to her. She's not only beautiful, but spirited, clever and knows a lot about estate management. He wants to spend more time in her company and through a mishap with her being thrown from her horse, Donovan invites Wynter to spend the Christmas holiday with him and his friends. Although Wynter adamant she never wanted to marry, Donovan is making her question that decision.

I enjoyed this story and liked that Donovan was not afraid to ask for help. When two of the Turner Terrors and their wives join him for Christmas, Wynter got a glimpse at what happy marriages could be like and she begins to question her stance on marriage. Most of the book moves along with Donovan trying to convince Wynter to marry him, but she's stubborn and sends him away. When they finally meet again, a tragic accident changes everything. I was glad to see Finch show up in this book. His is the story I really want to know. The author does a good job of letting the reader into each character's thinking, but I thought Wynter held on to her stubbornness a little too long. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

The Turner Terrors return in this third book of the series Dukes Done Wrong that follows the lives of five boys who were unjustly wronged, accused of terrible things they never committed and sent to a sort of correcting school where they met and became fast friends.
This time we meet Donovan, who’s fighting for his country when he’s forced to return home and become duke after the death of his father and brother. Donovan is strong, but also very vulnerable. The author did a good job in fleshing out his character. Donovan has suffered, but has survived thanks to his friends. But it is evident that for him and for all the Turner Terrors child insecurities reflect upon their characters as adults, especially the fear of not being loved…
Our heroine is Wynter, a very independent and capable woman who doesn’t want to marry nor have children for fear of losing her independence. I understand her completely in the context of the period in which she lived, because women were dependent by men in everything, especially married ones.
There’s an instantaneous attraction between them and I liked that they did not fear to act upon it.
But I must confess that this time I found the reason why Donovan was sent away less plausible. And what about the supposedly “good” brother? I won’t spoiler anything, but I didn’t like him at all!
This little flaw aside, I liked the book very much, especially the interaction between the main characters and the hero and his friends. This idea of a close-knit group of friends is really good and well developed. I look forward to seeing them all in the future! And of course the Vicar is becoming more and more interesting…
I also liked the fact that the beginning of the book shed some light into the Turner Academy and its creation. I hope to read a prequel story sometime in the future…
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Alexa Aston never disappoints! Disrupting the Duke is a great addition to the series. I wasn't sure how much I was going to like the adult Donovan, but I was quickly won over when it was clear he was truly a good guy. He's referred to as a womanizer, but you never get the impression he ever mistreated or led on any of the women he had been with - he just liked women. As soon as he becomes duke he puts that behind him and focuses on becoming the best man he can. I didn't 100% buy Wynter's reason for not wanting to ever get married - the wanting to keep her independence and not be under a man's thumb I got, but saying it was because of what had happened between her father and Donovan's mother seemed like a bit of a stretch. I was also a little disappointed when both Emery and Meadow basically told her that she just hadn't met the right man yet and would really want to get married. I would have preferred more of a "we understand your concerns, but hope you'll keep an open mind to finding a supportive partner" kind of conversation. I did like that they used their marriages to explain to her that not all men are terrible. Loved the role Finch played in all of this (I really really really can't wait to find out what his story is and see how he gets his own happy ever after). Overall, a really great addition to the series. A very solid 3.5 stars.
