I like the drawings in this cute picture book. All the artists are so easy to point out their names.
A perfect book for young students to learn simple things about these artists' names.

This book was short, sweet, and to the point. My favorite part of this book has to be that when introducing each artist, the art style matches the artist so perfectly. The bright obnoxious colors and boxy shapes for Andy Warhol, the dark and natural colors for Coco Chanel, and the brilliant designs and colors that just scream David Bowie. It also makes me happy to see that its not just your drawing/painting artists but fashion designers, musicians and street artists as well. It is so important for children to see that art is not just putting something on paper. Art can be found in so many mediums.

I read the previous book by this author and this one was just as good! It's so important to expose children to people of all walks of life from a young age, and this book is a great tool to do just that.

My classrooms and I always love the books from the Little People, Big Dreams series. They’re always nice, simple introductions to important inventors, activists, artists, and other icons. I particularly enjoy that this one showcases a variety of important artists, and that each page is illustrated differently, in a style that suits the artist that’s featured.

Hmmm... This month's publication by this author seemed to me to start a new series, what with the subtitle "My First Artists". Surely scientists, explorers, sportsmen etc could follow. But I might not be on board, for this peculiar selection of some famous names, and some your child would probably never thank you for introducing to them, just makes for a platitude of a message about "it might happen to you some day". I thought we might get a "Turner did this stuff, the Impressionists did that stuff, and this is a Monet" -styled book, but while all the design purports to the subject (and while some of the subjects have been singled out for their distinctive style, above actual quality), whatever it is Picasso was seen painting here didn't strike me as looking like a Picasso. In trying to be both a 'my first art history' book and a PMA-carrying message book, it was trying too hard to be a trendy, non-canonical one of the former, and ended up being not that convincing a version of the latter.

Leaders is a wonderful addition to the Little People, Big Dreams series for little ones! It has beautiful illustrations of a diverse array of artists and simple text written to inspire.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.
