This is book 6 in the Kitt Hartley Yorkshire series and can be read as a stand alone. I have not read the entire series. Kitt and her sister Rebecca are getting ready for a vacation when news arrives about the murder of Kitt's friend, Bryce. The sisters and their friends decide to take a cruise on the ship where Bryce was killed and track down his killer. Once aboard there is another murder and one of their own is attacked. A good mystery and some wonderful characters. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

A body by the lighthouse by Helen Cox.
The Kitt Hartley Yorkshire Mysteries Book 6.
Private investigator Kitt Hartley and her twin sister Rebecca are preparing for a holiday in Scotland when cruise ship entertainer Errol Jackson appears at the door. Errol breaks the news that Bryce Griffin, a former smuggler and an old friend of Kitt's, has been murdered: his body found washed up by a lighthouse, bearing a gunshot wound. Kitt persuades Rebecca to cancel their trip and, together with Kitt's assistant Grace Edwards and best friend Evie Bowes, books onto the next cruise to Norway to help with the ongoing murder investigation. Aboard the cruise ship Kitt, Grace and Rebecca encounter burlesque dancers, casino dealers, drag queens and a talking parrot named Skittles - seemingly the only witness to Bryce's death. But what dark secrets are lurking below deck? Can Kitt catch the killer before it's too late?
I did enjoy this book. Great story. I liked Rebecca Kitt and Errol. Plus Grace and Evie. It wasn't who I thought it was. 4*.

A quintessential murder mystery this novel's premise is very 'Murder on the Nile', except on a cruise ship. A body of a crew member washed ashore with gunshot wounds indicates foul play. An investigator with a personal link to the victim climbs aboard with her motley crew to solve the mystery. This is the perfect read for fans of Poirot.

Honestly, as much as I needed to know how it ended-I didn’t want it to! I needed more!!

First of all I must confess that I didn't realise this was part of a series & because I didn't properly read the blurb I thought it was set in Scotland so it started off with two marks against it which was not the fault of the book! However it is quite an enjoyable story set on a cruise ship with a variety of quirky characters. It would really appeal to those who have read the previous books. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.

This was the second book by Helen Cox that I've read, and it was as entertaining as the first. I was engaged in the story early on. The book had a good plot and interesting characters. I highly recommend this book to other mystery readers.

This is Kitt’s sixth outing & this series just goes from strength to strength. Another well written page-turner. It could be read on its own but I love how characters develop throughout a series & this is no exception. I love Kitt & really like Rebecca. There are twist, turns & surprises & I read this absorbing read in two sittings
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Norway Bound,,,,
The sixth in the Kitt Hartley Yorkshire mystery series finds Kitt and twin sister Rebecca looking forward to a well deserved break. Plans soon go awry and the pair find themselves Norway bound on a cruise ship amidst a murder investigation. Wholly entertaining, enjoyable cosy mystery with a credible and colourful cast of characters and a fun, immersive storyline. A worthy addition to the series.

Kitt Hartley mysteries is one of my favorite series and I always thoroughly enjoy the story.
This one was no exception even if I missed some of the characters.
It's a complex story set on cruise ship and Kit is apparently channeling her inner Sherlock Holmes but, at the same time, is shaken by the death of a mysterious old friend and reflecting on the impact of her investigation on her view of people.
The mystery is complex, full of twists, and there's a sort of locked room enigma and plenty of secrets.
I liked Rebecca, Kitt's twin, as she's a likeable and grounded person. I was glad to catch with the characters and liked the romantic part.
I had a lot of fun and read this book in one setting.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Another great cozy mystery in this series. Love Kitt and her sister and all the adventures they get up to. This book takes them on a cruise to Norway searching for answers. A friend of Kitts, Bryce, has been murdered and his body washed up by the lighthouse. Although everyone urges Kitt to not get involved, Kitt feels she needs to find answers.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Such a great book, superb plot well thought out. This is the first Kitt Hartley story I have read but will be looking to read the rest. Kitt & her twin set off on a cruise ship to solve the mystery, of Bryce Griffins murder. He is an old friend of Kitts. What a cruise ship!!! the characters are eccentric, complex, funny and utterly charming. Just a great read.

I found the plot of A Body by the Lighthouse by Helen Cox too preposterous to take seriously. In my opinion it's the least successful of the series. And yet I read it quickly. In part I was hoping that there might be some character development for Kitt, Evie or Grace ( a hope dashed fairly quickly) but in part it's because although the story was ridiculous, the writing was engaging.

In the sixth Kitt Hartley investigations it all feels a bit too close to home for the private detective. Just as she and twin sister Rebecca are planning a Scottish soujourn with their friends, a friend of a friend, Errol Jackson, arrives to tell Kitt that an old ally, Bryce Griffin, had been murdered, his body washed up by a lighthouse. Never one to let things lie, and against the wishes of her sister, friends, and boyfriend, Kitt suggests that rather than a trip North, they go further north… on a cruise to Norway to see if they can find the culprit. It’s a glamorous holiday no doubt, with cabaret, casino, burlesque and a talking parrot called Skittles – what’s that he’s saying? – but they’re there to uncover a murderer. However, even the wily Kitt can’t have foreseen how their trip is going to pan out, and there’s a lot more intimidation and fear than in any of the former books. Another winner from me, the series is dubbed cosy crime but Kitt is definitely a woman not to be messed with. Goes to show you that a knowledge of books can be useful.
