Ordinary words, put together in such a way that requires the reader to consider…..

The crowd is not always right!

I don’t usually take the time to read poetry, but must admit this was a delightful way to spend a few moments reading several poems a day. The beautiful pictures just add to the appreciation for the time the author spent sharing thoughts from her world with us. From the author’s own words - When we work together instead of wondering who is the best, each of us uses their talents for the good of the group and together….we are better. And together….we win

This ebook was received through NetGalley. My comments and impressions were in no way solicited.

Really loved the beautiful pictures and poems in the book. It's a quick read, but I feel like you can really reflect on the different poems in the book. If you love poetry and God, this is the book for you.

I enjoy reading poetry and the poems of Your Words Your World were delightful. The pictures were a bit of a distraction when put up against the poetry. However, I enjoyed this book.

Your Words, Your World is a collection of poetry, photographs, and story poems about God and the world He created, and the second book of poems by Louise Bélanger. It helps the reader look at the world in a new way.. Thank you netgalley and the publisher for an e-arch in exchange for a review.

Absolutely stunning and amazing!y beautiful poetry. Poetry is not something I would usually pick up to read, but I was offered a copy in exchange for my honest review. I am so happy I accepted. The photos are breathtaking and some of the poems brought me to tears.

Thank you to net galley and Louise for allowing me to read and review this beautiful book.

This book is beautiful visually. The photographs in this book is breathtaking. Very beautiful. The pictures go good with the poetry in this book. It's written so he's my that you think God and his Angels came down to earth and gave the author the words to write in this book. This book is so perfect for meditation, it just fills your soul.

I received a free copy of the book and is voluntarily writing a review

This book is a work of art. I love the photos that accompany every poem. They give just that last bit of "wow" after reading each one. Through these poems and these photographs you can sense, feel and understand God and His love. One of the best poetry books I've ever read. I was left in awe by Louise's talent.

I’m not a big poetry reader, but I’m a sucker for a good cover and I loved the flower on the cover of this book. I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy so many of the poems inside.

My favorite poem is fitting right now because it is about Christmas. It is simply called “Don’t”. The poem reminds us that when we store away all the Christmas decorations, not to put “Christmas” in a box. It was a lovely reminder of how the feelings we have during the holidays should be something we strive to feel on even a regular day. The poem also reminds us that without Christmas, there is no Easter and without Easter, there is no one in heaven!! If you are a Christian, this message resonated with me.

A poem with an emotional impact for me was The Most Beautiful Love Poem....I won’t tell you why because I don’t want to ruin it for you, but it is truly an AMAZING poem!!

If you are interested in Christian poetry, you will love this book. If you aren’t a Christian, there are many uplifting messages within the pages, and who doesn’t need that, right?!

This is a most thought, provocative book. The author gives her viewpoints on all sorts of subjects such as Christmas: "When you store away the decorations, Don't put Christmas in a box". She also states: "Success is a seven letter word with a million definitions". This is a most interesting and facinating book. I highly recommend it.

This poetry collection was a nice uplifting pick me up on a dreary winter day. Particularly cheerful was the poem entitled “The contest” in which various types of flowers are debating their merits and realize they are better as a bouquet. Simple, yet impactful.

In addition to the cheerful poems, there were a few that got me thinking about more serious matters. In particular, “Dust” is a thought provoking poem about how man is created of dust but not just any dust. The dust was from the garden of Eden, “Stunning dust from a perfect world”.

I would recommend this collection to a world weary Christian as a gentle reminder to notice the simple things in life and appreciate them.

I didn’t know that It was recorded in the Bible that Jesus sang a hymn together with his disciples. What a wonderful discovery and imagery! And I learned about it in this book of poems, specifically from one entitled “More Than Just”.

My other favourites are “A War Erupted,” and “The Most Beautiful Love Poem.”

The photos add more beauty to the book, though I might have arranged some of the layouts differently.

Beautiful. The photos and poetry are both beautiful in these dark days. The author brought light and made something of where she was in this time in the history of now.

This book is filled with poetry and images of nature. The poems are all about God and the beauty of nature. I didn’t find anything exciting, unique or purposeful about this book. The pages have typed words and then a pasted photo.
I do enjoy that the words point directly to the Lord and the photos remind us of the power of God.

Special thanks to netgalley for an e copy of this book of poetry.

I am not a reader of much poetry, however I did find this little book of poetry very good. Some of the poems were inspiring, while others were just poems.

If you like poetry, especially Christian poetry, this would be a nice book. It would, also, make a good gift for someone.

The past two years have been particularly challenging for many people all over the world. With much of the world still grappling with the Covid-19 pandemic, it will take a while before the world gets any semblance of the normalcy we are used to. As governments and health authorities continue to stress the need for vaccinations, healthcare professionals are preparing to deal with the next big crisis: Mental Health. Due to the lockdowns, quarantines, and prolonged periods of isolation, most people would find it a struggle without social well-being. After all, we are all social creatures. What if we could learn to listen to how God speaks to us through nature and creation at large? Inspired by the beauty of creation, Canadian poet Louise Bélanger shares with us many pretty photos followed by a short poem. The poems are brief, usually between 1 to 2 pages in length. She writes about the wonder of nature and the unique qualities embedded in creation. From Ordinary time to Christmas; she not only describes what is seen, but she also connects them with words of faith. Frequently, we find Bible truths arising out of the poems. Truths like the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians, the Trinity, the futility of the world, Heaven, Prayer, God's creation narrative, Jesus' birth narrative, and many more.

Bélanger uses words carefully with each sentence written in brief succinct words, enough to let readers pause and ponder. I like the way she combines what she feels with the words of faith. She frequently compares what we see in this world with the promises of heavenly hope. Hope is about anticipating a glorious life in Christ and with Christ. Sometimes, it takes a while before readers can perceive where the author is going. That's the power of poetry, to help us pause and take stock of what we see and hear. This world needs more poetic thoughts, especially in an impatient world. In a social media era, many people prefer to communicate in short texts and concise quips. The term TLDR (Too Long Didn't Read) best describes that sentiment. Yet, Bélanger's poems show us that there is no need to rush. Take time to read, think, ponder, and relax that it is ok not to rush and not to be rushed. Perhaps, that is the idea. In our busy world, more often than not, we have become so frantic with what we want to do, until we forget what we are called to be. This book of poems is a testimony of one poet who has learned the power of noticing life and in the process, noticing the movements in her own heart.

Louise Bélanger is a Canadian poet who started writing poetry in the Spring of 2020. Spurred by encouragement from friends to let the beauty of nature put thoughts to words, and words into poems. This is her second book of poems. The author's website could be found here.
