I don't read much poetry, probably because I can't connect to it like I should. Sometimes it can be a little too abstract. However the premise of this sounded interesting so I thought I'd take a shot.

These collection of poems and pictures are very accessible to any reader. I found many of the poems struck a chord with me. They are emotive and definitely a good source for reflection or to lead one into prayer.

I was surprised how much I did enjoy this book. You can read it in one sitting, or snippets at a time.

A lovely collection of Christian poetry & stories. You can tell the author has a vetting love for God and a heart and passion to share His love with the world. The photography included was very nice.

Poetry has always been a thing within the religious world – dating back at least as far as the prophet Moses who contributed some of the Psalms included in the Old Testament. But, for a long time, it’s felt like there’s been a lower view of this form of writing. That is until more recently when “famous” poets have begun to have their poetry published again. I guess that opens up the door for religious poetry again, as well, by indie authors and mainstream alike.

Your Words Your World, written by Louise Bélanger is one example of this influx of religious poetry. I had the privilege of reviewing this book for the Roost and am happy to report that it truly is a lovely collection of works by a woman with a creative, imaginative mind.

I particularly enjoyed her poem “The Contest.” This piece has much whimsey and beauty while also presenting a message of hope and unity in a fun way. I’ll admit it’s a little on the nose, but I’m okay with that in this particular case.

Most of the poems are overtly faith-based (Christianity), but some are more subtle. Folks looking for some good, encouraging, lovely, whimsical poems to brighten the day and lift the spirits will find promise in the collection of 28 poems.

Additionally, the photography included is lovely. Admittedly, stylistically I wouldn’t have made some of the choices she made in the presentation, but the images themselves are lovely and mostly well-framed. Some of the scenic shots in particular are some of my new favorites that I’m going to use for inspiration for my own amateur paintings.

If you’re looking for an encouraging, easy, and uplifting read within the Christian realm, this collection of religious poetry will hit the spot. It’s very floral and naturally based and hits on high points of low-stakes imagery surrounding challenging topics for a unique breath of fresh air into the painful world in which we currently live.

I think it's cool that someone shared their poetry journey complete with dates, and shared the thoughts that sprang to mind when they picked up a pen. It's brave, it's hard and it's to be celebrated. Even if you don't normally read poetry, it gives you a new perspective on how to communicate your ideas and viewpoints. As a poem writer myself over the years, I'm proud of this writer for stepping out and sharing their work with the world.

Your Words Your World was recommended to me by NetGalley in an email that I received. I felt that the recommendation came at a perfect time as I was feeling a little ‘blue’, and the thought of some poetry and beautiful photographs might be just what I needed.
This book of poetry was exactly what I needed. I loved the easy to read poems, and the pictures were beautiful to look at, especially while I was able to look out of my window and watch the snow fall outside. I hate to admit that I have not read one single poem since high school, so this was a nice change of pace for me. The older that I get, the more I appreciate poetry and gorgeous pictures of nature.
My three favorite poems from this book are titled Sometimes, Clowns, and Success. I definitely recommend this book of poetry to anyone that is looking for a nice spiritual lift, as well as to someone that appreciates photos of nature. I plan on reading future books from this author.

I would like to thank NetGalley and Louise Belanger for this gifted e-copy of this book. It was a great pleasure to read and review this book.

The author’s choice of title speaks for itself: she is sharing her worldview in thoughtful, simple words.
She speaks of earth and heaven, the practices that make us human and divine. The seasonal photographs focus us on the explosion of color and beauty around us if we look.
She speaks of God, of resurrection, her faith boldly presented.
These are poems that could be read in a family circle for ranging conversations, opening minds and hearts, and encouraging questions about who we are and what we are doing in this world.

A small but beautiful collection of poetry and nature photographs which can easily be read in one sitting. This book is intended for Christian readers.

The poems are emotive and thought-provoking. Among those which touched me the most are "Let there be light", "Ordinary", "You take the floor away" and "God lifts the veil".

Well worth your time.

Great book of poetry form Louise Belanger! astounding and uplifting!! I read and reviewed her first book of poetry about going through 2020 and COVID. That one was uplifting as well! I’m so happy she wrote this one, too! It is just as encouraging as the last. If you haven’t read this one, get it and read it! Thank you to #NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review with my honest thoughts.

Going into this I didn't really know what to expect! I don't read poetry that often but there is times when I really just want to listen to calming music and read well written poetry.

I didn't expect this poetry book to be all about the trust of God and the things we accomplish with God beside us. That's not to say I didn't enjoy it.... I did, but when reading poetry I love the poems to not give you the conclusion to each poem! I like being able to interpret them in my own way and invision its meaning myself rather than being specifically told.

I did really enjoy the pictures added into the book as well! It really worked well with the structure of the poem - they didn't seem random because it was all about the things God gave us and why the world is the way it is!

Overall, if you are looking for a poetry book about all different subjects like Love, Loss and Healing I wouldn't necessarily recommend this one. But if you are looking for a book to help restore faith and love! Especially if you are in doubt I would 100% recommend this book!

My favourite poems in this book has to be Zoom to Heaven, Sometimes and The Contest 🥰

Jesus wins
Against Satan

We know the outcome
We know the end
It is written in the Bible

“And they lived happily ever after”
Will happen

I’d rather have
That certainty
Than one wish granted
By a story book genie

Even three

Poetry is not often something I would jump at reading, but this book caught my eye - I was not disappointed. The author has composed a set of 28 pieces of Free Verse poetry speaking to the author’s and the reader’s relationship to God and the world. They are thoughtful and meaningful - often addressing real questions that are not simply answered.

Each poem is two to four pages in length (the snippet above is a fraction of the entire poem), including colorful photographs that draw the reader in. Each poem has its own theme: creation, the Trinity, Fairytale Endings, etc.

This thoughtful collection of poems is worth 5-stars.

Your Words, Your World is a beautiful collection of poetry, photographs, and story poems about God and the world He created, and the second book of poems by Louise Bélanger. It helps the reader look at the world in a new way.

Among my favorite poems is Ordinary, about how God can take something ordinary, like a star or a body of water, and make it do extraordinary things. I also loved Dust, which reminds us that God created us all from something we don’t really like–dust. A War Erupted paints a beautiful and tumultuous picture of a thunderstorm. The Contest is a thought-provoking story poem about a conversation between flowers. Zoom to Heaven is probably my favorite of all, as it talks about what it would be like to have a Zoom conversation with a loved one in Heaven.

Your Words, Your World takes a unique look at God and the world He created, and it makes me appreciate Him and this world all the more.

The photographs of nature throughout the book are gorgeous and mesmerizing, and they make perfect companions to the poems.

I received a free copy via Netgalley. My review is voluntary.

“With all the colours in the world
The infinite combinations
Hidden inside”

“God, is there a place?
Where Your Spirit
Takes more room, and I kind of
Disappear”

“And occasionally
God lifts the veil
And we see such beauty…”

Another beautiful collection of poems and photography by Louise. I love the mixture of poems that revolve around nature, God’s creation and people, God’s love and grace, and how it all intertwines together. Some of my favorite poems include “Ordinary,” “Gems In Heaven,” “Promises”, “More Than Just”, “A War Erupted,” and “The Most Beautiful Love Poem.” This wonderful collection of poems is ultimately uplifting and hopefully will draw you closer to the beauty of God. At least, that is what it did for me.
