Sometimes we feel invisible while other times invisibility is thrust upon us as a shield. Antonia grew up a volatile household and when her mother left to pursue an acting career, her father punished Antonia for her mother's mistakes.

The only ways Antonia could cope with the emotional abuse was to hide away from her life. When an unexpected gift enters her life, she finds the courage to embrace her talents while coming to terms with what she lost. Steel's prowess in creating poignant characters continues in #Invisible.

While I understood the angst her father felt, I was distraught by Brandon's treatment of his daughter. Antonia's emergence from her cocoon and finding the confidence to let her light shine, was inspiring. Thank you to #NetGalley for the early edition in exchange for an honest review. I found Antonia captivating but felt the story resolved itself too soon. Without giving anything away, I would have liked the latter developments to be flushed out fully.

Anther good Danielle Steel story. The story brings out all emotions sadness, happiness and need to keep reading. The story is about Antonia Adams the daughter born in a loveless marriage between Brandon Adams and Fabrienne Basquet. Brandon was an older American businessman who went to France on business and happened to met Fabrienne a younger French woman who was beautiful on the outside but not on the inside where it’s important. She was an angry self-centered person who was only concerned for herself. Because of all the volatile arguments between Adam and Fabrienne, Antonia had to learn to stay out of their way especially around Fabrienne.

The story keeps you reading to see how Antonia deals with life as she gets older and why she lives her life the way she does.

Like so many other readers I have been enjoying Danielle Steel's books for years and "Invisible" was a great read. I think in many respects people can relate to the main character Antonia and I enjoyed her story! This book reminded me of earlier DS books. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

Danielle Steel provides another novel reflecting on a young lady who was a product of a loveless marriage but rather a passionate and lustful. Narcissistic parents that did not spend any time with their daughter. When her mother abandoned them her father became bitter towards Antonia blaming her. He made her feel unwelcome in his home. She retreated to her room to hide away from his wrath afraid he’d send her away. Her father counted down the days until she graduated high school so he could send her off to college. Antonia focused on her education not spending it like most college students. She studied and got good grades. Her passion was to become a script writer. She made one good friend with which she could trust spending time with. During the summer months she got internships helping on movie sets. Over the years her relationship became strained with more distance growing between them until he met a woman who helped bridge the gap. Although the damage had been done. Danielle gave a wonderful detailed backstory into Antonia Adams life. This set the pace for what would become of Antonia’s life choices. Danielle drove the point home on more than one occasion really drilling it in how horrible both her parents were. Danielle didn’t hold back. She was truthful with honest brutality with how unwanted she was. This conditioning led her to become a shy introverted young girl who stayed hidden. She was self-sufficient and very independent having to take care of herself when her caregiver wasn’t present. She was highly intelligent and astutely aware child. She felt like a burden and a responsibility that her father couldn’t wait to get rid of. In a nutshell Antonia was a latchkey kid with an absentee father and a mother who abandoned them. Antonia had paid a high price for it too. Both her parents had cheated her of a loving childhood. The book provides a well rounded look of Antonia's life. The writing is a bit wordy and repetitive at times, but the story was well rounded and complete.

Danielle Steel provides a new look at a young life, growth and adulthood. Nicely done.

This book wasn't that bad, honestly. Lately, all of Steel's novels have been awful, but this one was passable. Antonia is an only child whose parents didn't want her. Their relationship is toxic and she learns early her best defense is to stay invisible.. She sticks to that motto even after her parents' divorce and her mother runs off to be an actress. Antonia develops a love for screenwriting and film in hopes of one day seeing her mom on the screen, a love that her dad despises.

All in all, the book is okay. It follows Steel's format of tragedy and perseverance. It's an easy, inoffensive read. It's not the best, but certainly not the worst she's written.

This was a quick and easy read. Standard DS fare…a few twists and turns that I didn’t quite expect which I liked. I love when DS keeps us on our toes and veers the story off in a new direction. Fans will love this one! A strong heroine who starts out with no one that loves her and ends up with everything she could have wanted in life. This one however didn’t make me cry which is a surprise because there is usually at least one moment in a DS book that makes me at least tear up.

Danielle Steele never disappoints, Invisible is yet another classic! Ms. Steele just has a way of telling a good tale, I couldn’t put the book down. The story itself, about a young girl who makes herself invisible to survive a broken home, is not groundbreaking but the way it is presented feels fresh and new. I was 100% invested in Antonia and was cheering her on as she made her way in the world. And Hamish!! Swoon!! I am so happy that he was a good guy. Thank you NetGalley for the great read!

Danielle Steel does it again. Invisible is a book you want to be able to put down. I've been reading her for years and this is her best yet in my opinion. Highly recommend.

This book made me so sad. The hard life of Antonia Adams is heartbreaking. A woman with a loveless family, devastating life experiences, Invisible shattered me.

The young protagonist becomes obsessed with the movies- looking for her elusive actress mother but her true passion is screenwriting. Her hard work eventually leads her to the job she desires but again, her life is marred with tragedy.

I am proud of Antonia for pursuing the life she wanted, even though I don't think I would be able to after all of the heartbreak.

Another good, but sad novel from Steel. She never disappoints!

This book was different, but a great book. I know that there are people that treat their children like this. I can’t imagine it. This book is about a family. The mom and dad get together and they get married. The mom gets pregnant and doesn’t want the child. She has the child, but ends up hating the child, doesn’t want anything to do with the child. She ends up leaving and the dad resents the child for the mom leaving.. I’m leaving it there, so you need to read it. It was a well put together book.. I would recommend this book. I give this 5 stars.

As always, Danielle Steel has done it again with Invisible. My heart broke and rejoiced as I was transported into Antonia’s world while reading her story. Highly recommended. #Invisible #NetGalley

She writes screenplays that are made into movies. Her kids grow up and she finds love again

Another good book from Danielle Steel. I'm giving it 5 stars.

Talk about a disfunctional family, mom and dad were a total mess, and it is truly amazing that Antonia turned out so completely good and normal. I really wanted to just grab her dad and shake him for his insane craziness. Antonia had a great friend who was always there for her and then met an amazing man who was the love her life. Through loss and children she finally fulfilled her dreams and led a wonderful life. This book had was so insanely good, but i always devour Daneille Steels books.Thanks again to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.

I’m sure there are many of you who have wished that you could be invisible at times. That’s precisely how Antonia Adams has led her life, comfortable at not being seen. Living in a toxic home with parents have nothing but anger and resentment for each other, she does her best as a child to be invisible so as not to cause further fuel for arguments. Resented and unloved by her wannabe actress mother, Antonia longs to know why her mother left her when she was young. Even her wealthy father cannot bear to look at her as he sees her as a mistake and reminder of his wife who betrayed him. Antonia escapes into the world of movies, always hoping to catch a glimpse of her mother but to no avail. As Antonia grows into adulthood, she aspires to be a screenwriter and be part of movies but unseen and invisible. Her father is adamant about her never being involved in that world that he lost his wife to. However, at NYU, Antonia is befriended by a director who takes her under his wing and gives her the love she so desires. Soon, Antonia is in front of the camera when all she wants is to write and be invisible until tragedy strikes. Antonia then must decide what direction her life will head. Can she realize her dream and retreat back into the shadows?
Danielle Steele does a great job of creating characters that you like and those who you despise. Thank goodness that Antonia found adults in her life that could become positive influences, albeit she let few people into her world. I found it admirable how Antonia is such a strong character and overcomes the abuse of a neglected childhood. The storyline kept me reading, however towards the end it seemed to jump very quickly as to wrap it up in a nice little bow. Well developed in the beginning, not so much at the end. For that, I would give this book a 3.5 / 5 but it rounds up to 4 stars.

I read my first Danielle Steel novel back in 1977; I was a big Danielle Steel fan for many years and could not wait until her next novel was release. I drifted to psychological thrillers however., now forty novels later there is a loyalty magnet that has a hold on me as I still have soft spot for Ms. Steel’s novels.
This story was far more emotional than I expected.

Story follows Antonia Adams from childhood to adult.
Before she was born, her mother Fabienne was clear that she DID NOT want to have a baby. However, Brandon her dad was so sure once baby was born she would change her mind. He did the entire baby prepping for the nursery etc. Dad tried but nothing worked and he soon resented Antonia as she was the reason his wife left. He turned into a mean person.
Antonia has learned early on how to be invisible so not to cause any more difficulties and tried to hide from her father’s resentment.

Antonia loved the movies; they were a great escape for her. She wanted to be a screen writer and wanted to attend NYS’s Film school. She gets a job as the ‘tenth assistant’ on a movie production that was being produced by famous British Producer/Director Hamish Quist.
As he was trying to fill the role of a young female, he found something wrong with each of the girls who applied ~ they were too young/or too old, too heavy/too skinny. He was getting discouraged when one day Antonia walked in with some papers. It appears she was his Goldilocks as she looked ‘just right’ for the role. She told him she wasn’t an actress. He said, “Not necessary all you have to do is walk; there are no lines.
She accepted.
When her father found out she was offered a role in a movie; he was irate and threw her out of the house. Hamish took her under his wing as though she were a little lost bird.
Their relationship grew however, she is fearful that heartbreak may once again follow her.
In a way it does ~ she is delirious happy but something does happens. (I’ll let you read the rest.)

I love Danielle Steel and this book was wonderful! It was incredibly sad at times but also had its heartwarming and happy moments. Danielle Sterl is truly one of the best romantic fiction writers of our time!

I was so lucky to receive an advance copy of Invisible by Danielle Steel from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review and opinions. First off, I want to start by saying that I think I have read almost all of Danielle Steele's books and each and every one of her books continue to draw me in from the first page all the way until the end. This was no exception as this book was so good! I loved every minute of this book! Everyone must read this as soon as they can get their hands on it!

As a long time Danielle Steel fan, I found this newest book enjoyable to read. It was slightly predictable, however, she did make some diversions from where I thought she would go with the story, which I found to be pleasant. I do enjoy how she is recently adding moments of current events to the novel, and using some me too movement. I liked the characters and rooted for the main character a lot.
