What a great last time read. I love when novels make me feel like I’m part of the town and connected to the characters. This is my first read by this author and certainly won’t be my last, a gem!

A witty, charming debut with complex characters that you root for. I loved being in Crystal's head and seeing her world through her eyes; the challenges she faced, both internally and externally; the pride and self confidence she felt for the platform she had built; the heartbreak she experienced when she and Scott broke up. And Scott! He was a fantastic hero - a lovable, smart, sarcastic hero with the worst/most adorable pick-up lines.

I enjoyed this book immensely and can't wait for Exes and O's!

A really great rom-com from Amy Lea! I really enjoyed the gym-nemesis to friends angle that the author developed. Also I related way too much to Crystal in this book. She was a fantastic character who was well developed and honestly had quite the growth throughout the book. Scott was also awesome big golden retriever energy. Can't wait to read more from Amy Lea in the future!

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review!

Honestly loved so much about this! The MMC was so swoony and I loved how confident and health positive the FMC was. And pleasantly surprised it was open door steam! I rated this one 4 stars!

This book was so fun! Crystal was a delightful narrator, and I swooned over her swolemate bond with Scott. I appreciate the depth and regarding the discussion of Crystal's body image as a plus-sized fitness influencer. And the steam in this was amazing– I'm still fanning myself over the bathtub scene!

Set On You is the story about Curvy fitness influencer Crystal who is minding her own business at the gym when a hot firefighter, Scott, takes her favorite squat rack. Sparks fly as they compete for gym dominance. Crystal is surprised when she runs into Scott at her grandmother’s engagement party. In true enemies to lovers fashion Crystal and Scott bond over family and fitness.

Y’all this one was a fun one! I can totally relate to the influencer aspects of the story. 😆 Loved the shoutout to bookstagrammers too! The body positivity Crystal exudes is so great and infectious. Cue the hunky firefighter Scott and you’ve got a sweet RomCom with some spice 🌶!

Gosh y’all — Amy’s debut RomCom just hit. every. mark. There’s sweet, sexy, heartfelt, hilarious, swoooooony.. I couldn’t get enough of Crystal and Scott! Their enemies to lovers romance kept me up reading late into the night and thinking about the story when I wasn’t reading it. I love how relatable Crystal is, and how you can feel how much Scott cares for her.

Set On You comes out NEXT WEEK!!!! Add it to your @goodreads TBR or @target shopping cart ASAP!!

This was a very sweet romance that digs a little deeper into the ‘body positivity’ movement, fitness and fatness, and discusses the importance of self acceptance over self love. ⁣I really enjoyed this story - it reads quickly, the characters are well-developed and realistic, and the romance hits just right!

Crystal is at the gym doing her thing when this uncouth, albeit sexy man, tries to creep in on the equipment she is clearly about to use. This means war...
There are some things I enjoyed (Scott, the body positivity for Crystal, her self-confidence, her relationship with her family) and others I didn't (her immaturity, all of the jumping to conclusions, her lusty hatred for Scott). The cover and premise were so much more appealing. I think I would have enjoyed seeing more from Scott's perspective.
As an avid audiobook fan, it breaks my heart a little bit to not enjoy the format. The narrator, Carolyn Kang, gave off an added level of immaturity. I think her voice would be more suited to a young adult or middle grade work.
Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for the advanced copy and PRHA for the alc. All thoughts in this review are my own.

This was a super fun read, set in a new-to-me-in-romance world, fitness influencing. Crystal and Scott were both interesting and nuanced characters. I will admit that I found both the premise for them ""not being able to date"" and also the black moment a bit tenuous - I wouldn't call it a miscommunication trope, but I would say some better communication and more empathy would have gone a long way. Still, it was a great time, and I can't wait to see who from this cast of characters gets the next book!

How could I not, not love this debut book! I loved the main character, Crystal who is a fitness influencer and not the “ideal size” is such a fun relatable character that you can’t help but enjoy.
I loved how Crystal and Scott, who stole her squat rack try to annoy each other. It was fun to read how their relationship developed, loved the tension and steam.

Wow, this book was amazing! I absolutely loved this plot and the way the author handled body acceptance and navigating the world as a curvy woman. So much of this message I felt to my core. I also really loved the way her family and friends had to reel her in at the end and remind her that she is just one human. There's so much of her character I found relatable. I loved the way Scott and Crystal met, how they navigated their relationship, their banter, and their sexual tension. I cannot wait to read more books by Amy Lea!

While I usually avoid the gym like the plague, but when I saw the description of this book, I was ready to sign up for a membership. I love the trend of interesting settings for romance books.

Our main character, Chrystal Chen, is a biracial curvy fitness instructor / Instagrammer who promotes living a healthy life while also loving yourself unconditionally. She's recovering from a break-up and the gym is her safe haven- until Scott saunters in and ends up stealing more than just her favorite machines. The two start as antagonists, but quickly go from enemies to gym buddies.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, but I found a few of the points of conflict to be trite or blown out of proportion (my least favorite aspect of the romance genre!). I enjoyed the characters - although I found Crystal a little boring - the setting, and the pacing. I would definitely read something from Amy Lea in the future.

Thank you Berkley Romance for a gifted copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I met Amy on bookstagram and I'm so happy she's making her debut as an author! I love the cover and I love the asian representation in the romance genre.

Things I liked:
- Asian representation - especially a curvy asian! Definitely relatable.
- Body positivity message

Things that could have been better:
- I did not love the miscommunications in the storyline. Crystal was pretty much set on hating Scott so some of it felt repetitive.

Overall, I enjoyed it a lot and look forward to her next book!

The author and main character in this book are Asian and in a recent post, the author talks about choosing to read books featuring Asian characters that are written by Asian authors. As she says "books featuring diverse characters don't always have to center struggle or teach a lesson. There is space for all books featuring all experiences, including pure romantic fun." That's what Set On You was, and it's perfect for Asian Heritage Month (Canada) and AAPI Heritage Month (US) as well as for every month!⁣

This book also addresses body positivity, gym culture, feeling secure in your body, self acceptance, etc.

Wow!
I shouldn’t have waited so long to read this one! It was cute, funny, sweet, and just the right amount of spicy.
The whole premise of the book is absolutely amazing! Plus size, person of color, fitness trainer, and fitsagrammer Crystal is spunky, confident, and an introvert. I loved her character so freaking much! Her struggles are so life like that it’s hard to imagine this wasn’t a non-fic book. Especially when stuff goes down and her reaction is to lay low and regroup, I mean who doesn’t do that?
I also really liked Scott, his easy going demeanor, and his relatableness was so refreshing! He’s funny, quirky, and did anyone tell you he’s a Chris Evans look alike? (;

Set on You is the debut novel by Amy Lea, bookstagrammer turned author! You can find her over at @amyleabooks!

I absolutely loved Set on You! Amy’s wit shines through into Crystal’s sarcastic voice and the body positivity and empowerment hit me just right. A large part of the book is set in a gym which I was worried would turn me off, but it didn’t and I actually ended up loving the tension and banter between Crystal and Scott during their workouts. And a certain gym locker room scene gave a new meaning to all hot-and-bothered (IYKYK)! It is all together sweet, swoony and definitely one of the HOTTEST enemies-to-lovers I’ve read to date with its tension, chemistry, and steam! I need more romances from Amy Lea ASAP!

Read if you like:
-A curvy heroine
-Firefighters
-Working out/living a balanced, healthy lifestyle
-Meddling families
-Instagram influencers

Set on You was a heartwarming debut! With a fun take on the enemies to lovers trope, I devoured this book in two sittings. And this slow burn romance had humor, romance and heart in the pages, making it a fabulous combination! If you love adult romance and enemies to lovers, you may want to have this one on your tbr!

“What’s your name?” The words tumble out of my mouth before I even register what I’m saying. Why do I care to know his legal name? Squat Rack Thief suits him just fine.
I hold my breath, awaiting his answer.
Amused, he opens his mouth, but no words come out. Instead, he just strides away.

Crystal Chen was a curvy fitness influencer whose content was uplifting while also trying to smash gym stereotypes, which I loved. After dealing with a bad breakup, Crystal kept running into a man at the gym who not only ruined the videos she was recording, but seemed to antagonize her at the same time. It was hate and lust at first sight. But after multiple run-ins at the gym, Crystal and Scott ended up meeting at their grandparents engagement party. Saying they were both shocked was an understatement! And that moment led their relationship down a different path, where I couldn't wait to see what happened next!

The universe is officially conspiring against me. I must have done some seriously messed-up shit in a past life.

My first impression of Scott Ritchie was that he was a a complete and total douchebag, ha! But when Scott got Crystal back in that first chapter, I was laughing so hard I couldn't help but be intrigued by him! Especially when we saw that he could be nice......just not to her lol. I should have hated Scott, for Crystal's sake, but that wasn't happening. He made me crack up way too much. And the more we got to see who firefighter Scott was, it was impossible not to fall head over heels in love with him!

It might be evil, but I want to break him. I want to watch him lose all restraint.

Crystal was strong willed and tried her hardest! I absolutely loved how she was so positive about her body and health, but it shocked me that she could be so negative about males and love. So because of that, her little faith or trust in men definitely made me nervous if she would let Scott in all the way. And while she did stumble at times, it was heartwarming to watch her grow by the end of this novel.

I walk ahead a few paces, forcing my mouth into a neutral state. I’m smiling like a child at Disneyland and I refuse to let him see it. I’m enjoying non-hate-filled banter with him far more than he needs to know.

Crystal and Scott together were addictive. I loved the games they played with each other, they were laugh out loud worthy and it made their enemies to lovers romance so much fun! And when they did get physical, oh wow, it was smoking hot. But as the story progressed, mistakes were made. So I was happy to see that apologies happened and allowed me to forgive and move on. I also loved how we got to read Crystal's Instagram posts and see a few of the comments on each of her posts. And I absolutely loved both of their grandparents with my whole heart. They were so adorable!

There’s a fragility in the way he’s looking at me, truly at me. As if he’s inviting me in, allowing me to see into the depths of his soul. Every guy I’ve ever been with would already have my pants off right now, but he’s treating me like I’m something to be cherished, savored.

Set on You was a wonderful debut! With enemies to lovers, steamy scenes, fun banter and wonderful side characters, this story was fabulous! While I did have some hiccups with Crystal, I was so happy that by the end of the book we got to see how far she had come and grew! Plus we were given an epilogue that gave us a happily ever after! I closed this book excited to read whatever Amy Lea releases next!

Set on You by Amy Lea is one of my most anticipated books for this year. I came across the book as the love interest was marketed as inspired by Chris Evans. Yes, I have the biggest crush on him.

Aside from that, the overall hate-to-love concept also drew me in. I really had a good time reading this book, but there were also some things I didn’t like.

From the very start, the main characters had a really interesting rivalry. The slow-burn chemistry between them was filled with tension and I like how it was executed. Scott’s antics were quite charming and I love how he keeps Crystal on her toes.

I also liked the family connection between Crystal and Scott, and how it helped their relationship. Speaking of family, I always love reading about big families and their healthy dynamics. Coming from both an Asian household and a big family, I could easily relate with Crystal’s and Scott’s relationships with their respective families.

Since we’re in the digital age, where people can’t seem to live without social media nowadays, I feel like we need more stories that tackles the dark side of social media. As a plus-sized influencer, Crystal wasn’t immune to the fatphobic and offensive comments left in her page, but she knew not to deal with it.

I like how Crystal developed her approach, from ignoring them to dealing with them altogether. In reality, it’s not so easy dealing with negative comments that can affect our self-image and confidence. I totally applaud Amy Lea for highlighting such an important topic in the book.

The pacing was a bit inconsistent, there were definitely slow chapters.

I couldn’t fully connect with Crystal, I guess that was just because we have so many differences, but I get where she’s coming from. It’s just that she rubs me as someone who’s too judgmental, but I totally understand why she’s having trust issues.

Although, I like how the whole trust issue thing between them played out and how Crystal realized she needed to work on herself before truly letting Scott in her life. However, it felt crammed towards the end, since the “break-up arc” was around 88% of the book.

Still, the payoff was good despite having slow and filler chapters.

Overall, this book made me feel a mix of emotions: cringing at Scott’s cheesy pick-up lines, feverish with the steamy scenes, and giddy with their chemistry. I recommend this book if you’re looking for a quick, light hearted read that also highlights relevant issues.
