What a beautiful Christmas read. This would make an amazing movie, I could see it playing out in my head as I read it. The descriptions of the lighthouse and the town and bakery made me feel like I was there, with the snow and wind whipping around me. The heart of the story, the loss of Grandma Ruth, but also self discovery and family was very moving. Mia does a lot of soul searching, she had some big shoes to fill from her grandmother but she certainly stepped into them with ease, without even realising just how like her she really was, always trying to help others, bring happiness and make lasting memories.
Every characters introduced in this book has internal issues they need to work through, Will has a lot of baggage but being with Mia it all seems to disappear and be easier for him. These two click from the start and I was rooting for them.
The added family twist kept me guessing and I really liked the outcome of them pulling together to be a strong family unit. A simply beautiful read right from the start.

What a sweet, family centered, Christmas story!
When their beloved Grandmother/mother dies, the Carter women come together to try to come to terms with having to sell the beloved lighthouse. This story is an emotional journey that the three woman take, each dealing with their own struggles and hardships.
Characters are great, very relatable. Plot is simple but beautifully written.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was so much more than a Christmas read. It was as always from this author a truly beautiful and magical read which transports you to another world and is pure escapism once I had picked it up and started reading I couldn’t put it down. This author has a way of engaging the reader abs making them feel that they are part of the story and in this story I felt transported to being in the lighthouse and among all of the Christmas sparkle and could almost taste the wonderful cookies. This was so much more than a run of the mill Christmas story and was about finding love and friendship and family connections and being on a journey of self discovery for Mia and will to both find the road to future happiness and to find themselves again and how also a bit of community spirit and pulling together goes a long way to creating happiness for those you love and care about. I would love a sequel to this to find out more about where Mia and wills journey takes them next.

Mia Broadhurst has returned to Winstead Cape after the death of her grandmother Ruth, who ran the lighthouse there. The lighthouse has been in Mia’s family for many, many years, and she is desperate to hang on to it. Her only problem is that her life is in New York, not on Winstead Cape. Sadly, she prepares to sell the lighthouse and begins sorting out her grandmother’s things, only to discover a clue that leads her to a generations old family history. With Christmas on the horizon, the possible answer to a family secret and the oh so handsome realtor Will Thacker popping by, will Mia be able to leave the Cape for the big city?

A magical romantic read from Jenny Hale, A Lighthouse Christmas has everything you need for a festive story. Snow, hot chocolate and Christmas cookies together with relatable characters and a beautiful setting, this book ticks all the boxes. I loved how Mia starts to realise what’s important in her life and with a little help from her family and new friends this is definitely a Christmas to remember.

Jenny Hale has captured the essence of Christmas and secured it safely between the covers of this delightful book. All the things that we love about Christmas are found in this heartwarming page-turner; the wonderful feeling of being at home with family, the aroma of Christmas baking, the snow-covered streets and bright twinkling lights and the evergreen boughs swaged inside and out. It left me full of festive spirit and in the mood for a Christmas cookie.

Mia Broadhurst has come to the quaint seaside village of Winsted Cape, Virginia to pack up her Grandma Ruth’s home before selling it. The lighthouse home has been in their family since 1870, passed down from generation to generation of Carters. After her grandma’s death, selling is the best option since Mia can’t see herself ever leaving New York. However, while boxing up belongings, Mia finds a black and white photo with a faded inscription on the back. As she starts to investigate, she inadvertently uncovers a family secret hidden for decades. Does this photo hold the answer to Mia's challenges?

The mystery of the people in the photo will draw you into the story and the magic of Christmas will have you believing in second chances and the thought that anything is possible! This hug between the pages features humour, heart and romance and it needs to be on your winter TBR list.

After reading this heartfelt Christmas story, I was not surprised in the least to discover that the author had a Christmas wedding. Her love for this season is evident in her narrative. You need to experience it.

Mia and her family inherit a lighthouse when her grandmother passes away.
They are getting it ready to sell, with the help of realtor Will - he is becoming friends with Mia, but both have them have things they are dealing with and in real life live very far apart, so will they have a chance long term?

A great festive read.
