One Liner: Heartwarming, hopeful, and happy ever after.

Mia goes back to Winstead Cape when her Grandma Ruth passes away. The old lady managed a historic lighthouse that has been in the family for generations.
Alice, Mia’s mother, discovers the debt left behind by Grandma Ruth. With her finances balanced on the edge and Riley, Mia’s younger sister holding a small job at the hospital, they have no option but to sell the lighthouse.
Mia has to be the strong one and take care of the renovations and arrangements. The nearing Christmas, her broken marriage, the pressure of working with her soon-to-be ex-husband threaten to overwhelm her. Yet, she steps in to take care of things. Her mother and sister step up, and they work together as a unit.
Will is the real estate Mia hired to sell the lighthouse. He has troubles of his own and some of his sister Kate’s to deal with. Yet, when Mia and Will meet and work together, they find solace and peace together.
But things get complicated soon enough. The secrets from Grandma Ruth’s past come out in the open. Mia’s life suddenly is at crossroads, and she’s trying to find her true self.
Can Christmas in the lighthouse save the place and fix things for everyone?
The book is as beautiful as Christmas books should be. It’s more of women’s fiction, and there isn’t any romance, per se. What we do get is people getting to each other and discovering themselves in the process.
The characters are well-etched and come alive on the paper/ screen (for ebooks). The hints to the secret are easy to guess. Nothing gets dragged beyond a point, either.
I love how Will is a smart and sensible guy with a good heart. He is confident, compassionate, and ready to help. Mia’s got a good head and a good heart, both of that make her a lovely person.
There’s enough angst and doubt to add some drama though everything is resolved easily. The imagery of the setting, food, and winter season was beautiful. The writing is easy and smooth. A couple of characters and themes are predictable, but that’s the comfort of reading this genre.
To sum up, A Lighthouse Christmas is a warm story about family, relationships, and listening to what the heart wants.

I love lighthouses and small towns, so the setting of this story is right up my alley. I love the Carter women. They are strong and even though they may get down, don’t count them out. They are what families should be. Will, Kate and Felix are another family who are there for each other. The storyline of these two families meeting, growing and helping each other is wonderful. This is a great Christmas story that I think you will enjoy as much as I did. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

After Mia’s Grandmother dies she returns to the village, Winsted Cape. The place where her Grandmother ran a lighthouse from which you could see the golden beach.

A Christmas without her Grandmother present, a lighthouse she doesn’t want to let go that the family have had for years before her. Being back there brings back all her memories from her younger days. But as she’s based in New York, has a PR job, she has no choice but to let it go.

The snow is falling, creating a winter wonderland, Mia along with Will, whose a estate agent to get the lighthouse ready to sell, she’s aware nothing can happen between them as she’s only home for Christmas and Will has his own heartbreak.

Packing up her Grandmothers things the family uncover a photograph with a inscription that’s not clear. There’s a family secret that’s been unknown to any of them for years, this secret will change everything.

Mia wants to find out the truth behind this photograph, but uncovering the secret, will Mia get to save the lighthouse from leaving their family or will it mean she leaves the village forever………..

An enjoyable and uplifting small-town wholesome holiday romance with great chemistry of characters and the the fuzzy feels of a Hallmark story. Really put me in the holiday spirit.

I've read all of Jenny Hale's Christmassy books and loved them all, so my expectactions were high. And my expectations weren't just met but exceeded. Absolutely loved this book! It's so wholesome! It's cozy, cute and also a bit emotional. Absolutely loved it!

Life is made up of choices and when her grandmother passes away, Mia goes back to Winstead Cape, where her Grandma Ruth ran the historic lighthouse. Choices have to be made about what will happen to the lighthouse, and she thought they were going to have to sell it. She hires a real estate agent, and he helps her prepare to put it on the market.
While cleaning out her grandmother's things, Mia's mother and sister are there to help her. Sometimes like gives you messages, or has things happen, and unexpecting things happen. They find some photos that her grandmother had never shown them, and try to find out who the people in the pictures are. Mia's husband, who wanted a divorce, calls her and the venue for the Christmas party is already booked. She has to figure out on short notice a place to have the company Christmas party for the very wealthy clients. She decided, before the lighthouse was sold, she would have the Christmas party there.
There are ups and down moments, there are happy times, and sad times, but as they make the choices, some things start to fall into place. But other things happen that could have a huge impact on Mia’s plans. What can they do, just follow through, and hope it turns out all right. Sometimes, Mia thinks she is losing everything and finds out, losing everything might just be how things right themselves, and you figure out what you really do want.
This is Christmas at the lighthouse, with memories, making new friends, finding family, and discovering that choices, can be changed, and it could lead to your best part of life.

I love cozy Christmas books! Jenny Hale did a great job making me feel like I was in a cozy, homey winter wonderland with her descriptions. I enjoyed the slow build of the relationship between Mia and Will. I also appreciated Will’s background, which added some depth to the story. Overall the relationships in this book were the best part- the family bond especially.

I did feel like the book was slightly long and overly descriptive in some parts. I also kept having questions about the timeline of some things. Mia grew up in this area yet she kept seeming surprised about things in the town, or commenting that she’d never been in somewhere or had only been in once or something. It came across to me that she was more visiting a town she hadn’t really been to before.

Overall, it’s a nice cute book to read on a cold winter day.

As a family historian myself, I loved the historical mystery elements in this book which I could totally relate to. With its uplifting seasonal message, idyllic setting and lovable characters, I can’t help thinking how great this story would be if it were made into a movie. I for one, thoroughly enjoyed it!

There is a lot going on in this little book!

After her grandmother passes, Mia and her family gather to sell the lighthouse that her Grandma Ruth kept. It's been in the family for years and they're heartbroken to sell, but don't have means to keep it running. In the middle of all this, she's divorcing her husband and trying to plan the prestigious company Christmas holiday party, her mother loses her job and her sister is having money problems.

She meets the real estate agent, Will, who has a whole lot going on in his life - the death of his wife, her demanding mother, his sister's bakery going under, selling his own house, and taking care of his nephew, Felix.

While cleaning out the lighthouse, they find a box with photos and a locket and a phone number for someone they don't know. It seems Grandma Ruth left some secrets behind they need to figure out before they sell the lighthouse....but wait, maybe it isn't theirs to sell?

Add in some beautiful Christmas traditions, baking and snow angels and a bit of holiday romance and it's a sweet book.

Saddened by the loss of her grandmother, Mia has the unenviable task of restoring the lighthouse that belonged to her family for generations in order to prepare for its sale. This lighthouse is one of the precious memories Mia has of her grandmother. Once the restoration and sale are complete, Mia intends on returning to her life in New York.

All while the work begins to take place, Mia is packing up her grandmother's things, and finds herself saddled with emotions. Finding and old photo amongst her grandmother's belongings brings out Mia's curious side. There is an inscription that alludes to a family secret. Meanwhile, Mia cannot get the last words she heard out of her grandmother's mouth, albeit in whispers, which were, "Tell your sister, hope is where you find it. If you'll look." Mia cannot help but wonder what the inscription means when matched with her grandmother's words.

Mia takes all of the photos and begins to look for deeper meaning. They are like pieces of a puzzle, and this puzzle alludes to a family secret held like a vice for many years. Mia hopes getting to the bottom of things will answer many questions, but more importantly, save the lighthouse.

Mia is not alone in her search for answers. Her sister Riley is there for the journey. There is also Will Thacker, the real estate agent. Despite her sadness and search for answers, Mia finds herself drawn to Will, especially as they find themselves spending a lot of time together. Only there for the holidays - and to deal with the lighthouse - Mia is afraid to act on her attraction to him.

What a lovely story! Part history, part romance, and part holiday. It is a warm story throughout. As the secret that was hidden starts to reveal itself, a strong sense of family is also part of this entertaining read by Jenny Hale. She writes delightful stories, a couple of which have been turned into Hallmark movies. I can easily see this one becoming one such story. Also, lighthouses are my favorite thing, and to have it as the centerpiece of this story truly warmed my heart.

It's fun and Christmas frolics all the way a good easy cosy up book for the festivities.

A quick easy, cosy and adorable read that is both heartwarming and uplifting. I really enjoyed reading this book

Jenny Hale definitely has a way of making a reader feel like they are living the story In the book. She keeps me up WAY past my bedtime every time I start any of her titles.

This book has everything you need to get into the Christmas spirit (even if it’s only September). It makes you believe in second chances and Christmas miracles. Mia is definitely a character to aspire to be like and men should take notes from Will. PS. don’t read while hungry!!

Full of good cheer and merriment, this is a true delight for the holidays. I loved reading this book about a celebration of love and hope for new beginnings. The magic of Christmas was everywhere, including making snow angels after a huge snowfall.

Mia, about to be divorced, travels home from New York City to her mother and sister who live in a small town on the coast between Virginia and North Carolina, to help settle affairs after the death of her beloved grandmother. It’s the holidays and as a PR executive for her soon to be ex-husband’s firm, she’s in charge to find a venue for a blowout celebrity Christmas party. Having listed the lighthouse for sale that her grandmother operated and had been in the family since 1870, Mia comes up with the brilliant idea to use the lighthouse as the venue for her celebrity clients. With help from the hunky realtor Will Thacker, Mia and her family help to turn the lighthouse into a Winter Wonderland of a magical Christmas display. But alas, Mia is faced with opposition by a long-lost aunt who claims the lighthouse as her own. To add to that, Mia’s soon to be ex-husband shows up early claiming that he has changed his mind, not fully revealing his ulterior motives. However, Mia comes to realize what is important and who she really is as she remembers all that her beloved Grandma Ruth taught her. Love conquers all, both for Mia and her family too.

This was a very quick read as I wanted to read on and on to find out what would happen next. I got caught up in the feelings of good tidings of comfort and joy as Mia and Will discovered each other and they unraveled the mystery that Grandma Ruth left behind. You can’t but help root for them to find love together. This is a feel-good story, one that also features the goodness of one who passes but leaves an imprint on all whom she met. Everyone should have a Grandma Ruth. If you are looking for a lovely holiday book to read, with that “Hallmarky” feeling, put this on your TBR list.

Another Christmas hit by Jenny Hale. Liked this one a lot, and had trouble putting it down. Didn't like the interaction with the soon to be ex, and started out sad overall, but once I got into the story of when Mia and her real estate guy Will start going through her grandmother's lighthouse it gets interesting. Would highly recommend.

This book is a cozy Christmas story that touches on nostalgia and family history, as well as highlights fresh starts. Mia's grandmother passed away, so she returns to the old lighthouse that her grandmother owned and ran. She helps plan a quick restoration to assist in the sale of the lighthouse, but that churns of many emotions as the family sorts through her grandmothers things - and perhaps uncovers a secret. Mia also gets to know the realtor Will as he assists them with preparing for the sale, the restoration work, and helping Mia solve some logistics challenges for her corporate holiday party.

It was an enjoyable Christmas story with a touch of whimsy. I definitely wasn’t ready for it to end.

This book was so intense and full of secrets!
I loved how this book captured my attention in the first chapter, the author went right in and she did not slow down til the last sentence. I loved the characters and really enjoyed how it was written! Well done Jenny! A wonderful story.

One of my favorite things to do is to pile up the holiday romances and just read away. I read this one during a weekend where I was recovering from a minor medical thing and these holiday romances are the perfect read when you need something light and easy, but filled with love and the magic of the holiday season. In this book, Mia Broadhurst has returned to Virginia where her grandmother passed away to pack up the pieces and put up for sale the lighthouse and cottage that has been in her family for years. She wishes she could keep it, but with it comes a load of debt and work that neither her, nor her sister, nor mother are prepared to handle.

Mia was a great character to follow in this story. While I may have rolled my eyes a few times at the troubles she was dealing with with her ex or soon to be ex, I kept my respect for her and her work ethic as she worked hard to prepare the lighthouse for sale with a very cute real estate agent!

While not my favorite sub genre of literature - relationship dying, do I want to save it, oh maybe it is a good thing it died! With the focus not completely on this dying relationship, but also on her sister and mother and this property from her grandmother, I was glad that there was more to this book than the ex lingering in the background.

The story
Mia is back home in Winstead Cape to help her mother and sister pack up and sell the Lighthouse property that her grandmother ran and was in her family since the 1870’s. They are sad to sell the property, but the debt on the property cannot be repaid. Mia is going through a divorce from her wealthy husband Milo and so much of her life is stressful. When she meets Will, the realtor selling the property, the connection between the two is so strong, she questions if her busy life in New York is what she really wants.

My thoughts
This is the second book of Jenny Hale’s that I have read and this one seemed so much stronger than the first. I really enjoyed the quiet development of the relationship between Mia and Will, and how caring Mia is for her mother, sister, Will and his family. She is a capable and strong character but she also has moments when she questions just how strong she can be when it looks like things might fall apart. Thankfully, this doesn’t last long and those around Mia support her and help her find solutions. I really enjoyed this easy and sweet snowy, gentle Christmassy read.
