While Danica is flirting with the local baker, Clem is flirting with danger in the form of handsome witch hunter, Gavin. To keep him distracted means keeping her coven safe, but how long can this fling go on before they both have to admit there’s more than magic between them?

These books have been so much fun. We join Clem at about the midway point of Witch Please, when we first identify Gavin. It was strange to experience some scenes again that we’d already read in book one, but it made sense to bring in Clem’s perspective and goings on that we didn’t see before. A bit of an odd choice, but it sets the timeline we’re working with.

Clem and Gavin are dynamite together. The forbidden love aspect was really fun, and I enjoyed watching them battle with the finite nature of their relationship, with Clem knowing who he is, and Gavin knowing he’ll be moving on before long.

If you’re looking for open door steam, it’s here! Otherwise, this is a sweet story, with some great moments of female friendship along the way.

One thing that I especially loved was the Coffee Clutch group. I’m a sucker for sassy seniors, and I was glad to see them multiple times throughout! Also, Benson! If you know, you know!

What happens when you get a bisexual witch who won't accept help from anyone trying to get rid of a witch hunter who's not so sure he should be witch-hunting at all? A lovely, witchy rom com, complete with a mouse for a familiar and a very surprising turn of events.

Clementine Waterhouse didn't want to fall for Gavin Rhys - she wanted to get rid of him! And the last thing the witch hunter needed was to be "caught" himself by the alluring yet elusive woman who he can't even tell if she's a witch or not as he's so besotted!

I absolutely adored the second installment in the Fix-It Witches series. Though I wasn't very impressed with the first one, this one hit every note for me. I loved Clem!  She was already the most interesting character for me since  we first saw her and her forbidden romance with the Witch Hunter is sooooo good! Gavin is also a very fleshed out character and you just fall in love with. him and hope he finds the right path in life.

In this book, the magical element is way more present and a huge development in the witches X witch hunters situation happens. Clem and Gavin's romance is swoon worthy: two souls who found their mate and they just know that they can't ever be together. A witchy Romeo and Juliet so to speak.

I also loved how it still basically deals with family dynamics and how it affects us all. I still despise the evil grandmother from hell (passive aggressiveness to the max!!) and basically all the parents, but it makes up a good conflict. The plot overlaps a bit with book 1 and you can read it as a standalone but reading book 1 will give you a much more better perspective of the situation and Clem and Gavin's romance basically kicked off there too.

Lots of fun! Loved it!

Possible Triggers: toxic family relationships, extreme bigotry, child of divorce dynamics

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you, NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca and Ann Aguirre for the copy.

This second book in the series focuses on Clem and her relationship with Gavin, the witch hunter. Clem sets out to distract Gavin from the coven, but they both fall for one another. There is lots of steamy romance and a few plot twists in this fun, magical story.
I listened to the audio book for the first part of the story and read the last part. I enjoyed it in both formats.

I loved the first book in this series, so I was naturally excited for this one. It’s time for Clementine Waterhouse’s story, Danica’s Cousin. A Witch Hunter, Gavin Rhys, has come to town. He’s drawn in by Danica’s spiking magic, and it’s now Clems job to do damage control and force him out of town as soon as possible. The only problem is that Clem is attracted to Gavin. He’s the last person she should be interested in.

👩🏻 Clem’s personality is opposite from the sweet one we saw with Danica. Clem is more tough, straightforward and very blunt. I loved her character.

🧑🏻‍🦱 Gavin the Witch Hunter. He actually hates his family legacy and obligations. He yearns to be free of it. He’s a tortured soul due to years of mistreatment by his Father, but he’s too frightened to escape the Witch Hunters order.

What I loved:
▪️The way this book overlaps in time and plot with Witch Please. I loved being able to re-live parts of that book, but through Clem’s perspective this time.
▪️The darker more dangerous falling for your enemy (forbidden love) vibe this book had.
▪️ Learning about Gavin from his POV. I loved learning what made him tick and about the Witch Hunter order.
▪️Benson the Mouse 🐭
◾️The spice level - oh my word!
▪️Gavin again! I swooned over him!
▪️OH MY WORD THAT ENDING!!!! It was so intense I was holding my breath, and then the surprise plot twist happened! I LOVED this book!

Definitely 5 stars from me. I loved this book so much, just as much as the first book!

Boss Witch picks up right where the Witch Hunter shows up in Witch Please, so if you haven't read Witch Please yet I would HIGHLY recommend you go read that first!

Boss Witch was a solid read. I really enjoyed it! My favourite part of this book was seeing Gavin's journey; the way his story was handled was so perfect. I did find that this book lacked some of the heart that I loved so much in Witch Please, and at times I found Clementine a very difficult character to like. But what worked really well was how Clementine was balanced out by Gavin! And by delaying the HEA it made the ending so much better because it gave both characters time to grow.

If you like witchy romances, banter, and strong female heroines I think you'll really like this one!

I had a tricky time with this book. Boss Witch is the sequel to Witch Please and follows Clem as she tries to save her family from the witch hunter in town who shows up after her cousin Danica’s magic spiked in book 1. Excerpt Gavin hates being a witch hunter and has struggled with the path his family has forced him to take, and when he meets Clem, he is captivated by her. First, what I did like… I loved Gavin, I thought he was so endearing and I loved the complexity he had with not wanting to be a witch hunter. And I loved how Clem brought out his desire to find roots for himself and when Clem gives him a mouse named Benson, it was so sweet watch Gavin grow and connect. I also loved the banter between Clem and Gavin and their dates. I liked Clem in the relationship with Gavin too. With him, she was vulnerable and playful and funny. But with her family and her character felt insanely frustrating. She spent the whole book saying how she never opens up because she doesn’t feel support from her family and feels like she carries the weight of everyone’s problems and I do feel bad for her. She is stuck in a lot of hard situations but she has no empathy. She is critical and honestly rude I think a lot of the time, and I didn’t feel like there was any growth with her outside of her relationship with Gavin, and family was such a big part of the book, I needed that growth. Gavin and the magic in this book really saved it because I feel like Clem was lacking as a heroine. The magic was interesting and the romance was smart and sexy and very steamy. I loved the unique forbidden love angle and there were some fun moments, I just wanted more from Clem.

This was such a fun story! I loved Witch Please and was very intrigued by Clem's story.

This was sort of told a little weird because it is during the same timeline as Witch Please. You got hints of what Danica was doing and Clem's POV.

Gavin was such a sweetheart. You got a weird vibe from him in book #1. But he ended up being such a book boyfriend. I loved learning more about him and the background of witch hunters.

Clementine sometimes rubbed me the wrong way. I didn't love her in the first book. But we did get more of her background and why she acts so tough. She had a real character arc.

There was a lot of fun twists and turns. I don't want to spoil anything, but I thought they were all clever.

This is my second Ann Aguirre book, and I had a lot of issues with it that I don't remember having with my first by her (notably not the first book in this series, which wasn't my best move). Overall, the book is kind of bogged down in unnecessary details and instances of virtue signaling, which get old pretty fast - pieces that I'm sure Aguirre meant as an effort towards diversity and inclusion that just aren't worked in well and feel heavy-handed.

But I'm also really irritated that this book is marketed as having bisexual representation when the only reference made to Clem's bisexuality is that she thinks about a time when she almost asked out another woman in her coven. I absolutely don't have an issue with bisexual people ending up in straight (or straight-passing, perhaps, since Gavin says somewhere that he's always been kind of a vibes person when it comes to attraction) relationships. It was just really disappointing to have this introduced by the blurb as something that seemed like it would be explicit, and the word "bisexual" doesn't even appear in the book.

I'll probably read the other books in the series, but I'm glad that I read this one before I recommended any of them to anyone on the premise of them being good and clear queer rep.

Witchy Clem and her new witch hunter hunny-bunny are up and...things are complicated. I mean, Clem is already complicated (a lifetime of sucking things up and getting them done because no one else will starts to wear on a lady) and Gavin is just as complicated. Which is shocking, really because Clem seems like she'd have a lock on that. But no. Gavin is toeing the line right next to her.

First off, witch hunters, man. What's up with that? I mean, Gavin just rolls into town and confirms witchiness and things go sideways for the poor witches? Not cool. But Gavin's not loving his job and he's starting to question if he's doing the right thing. Tangling up with Clem (even not knowing that she has certain supernatural talents) has that spark of longing to give it up and settle down flare even higher.

Meanwhile, Clem's dealing with her toxic grandmother, her parentals and their issues, and her slow-growing resentment over how she constantly has to pick up the slack for others, all while trying to distract the witch hunter from figuring out who the witches in town are. She has A LOT going on. (And frankly, her grandmother's machinations were awful. Just not fun for anyone involved.)

A little danger, a little magic, a special mouse, a lot of sparks, and the uncovering of a truth that has been hidden for far too long. *thumbs up*

I was really looking forward to reading this book. I absolutely loved Witch, Please. I just could not connect with Clem and Gavin. One thing I did appreciate that the beginning of the book overlapped with the first one (which should definitely be read before reading Boss Witch). I will most likely give the book another try in the future, but for right now I ended up DNF at 40%.

Another entertaining installment in the Fix-It witches series. I really enjoyed this opposites attract, forbidden romance between Clem and Gavin. When witchhunter Gavin comes to the small town of St. Clair the witches go on high-alert, sending Clem to investigate how much he knows. The trouble is, jade about love Clem, finds Gavin hard to resist! Sizzling chemistry, some steamy open door scenes and an adorable mouse familiar make this paranormal romance an easy win! I can't wait for the next book in this series. Perfect for fans of Not the witch you wed or The ex hex. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my advance review copy! All opinions are my own.

When Clementine Waterhouse says “she’ll deal with the problem of the Witch Hunter” she didn’t initially intend to date him, but it did seem like a good way to distract Gavin Rhys from stamping out her coven. She’s fiercely loyal to her cousin Danica (even when she’s running off with CinnaMann Titus, from book 1), loves her coven sisters dearly, and takes running the Fix-It Witches Repair Shop very seriously. Gavin doesn’t love being a Witch Hunter, but it’s more than even just a family legacy: his father is the head of the Order. But there’s something about Clem and her town that lights a spark inside of him. He doesn’t know she’s a witch, he just knows he’s in town to investigate the source of magic.

I GUSHED through the whole book. I read the first book, Witch Please, together last fall, and loved that, but this one was better. We both preferred Clem as a main character over Danica - she’s smart, sassy, protective, and loyal. Gavin starts with a bad boy persona, but he’s just as much a cinnamon roll as Titus. This one has so much delightful whimsy and well-timed humor. The timeline overlaps significantly with Witch Please, but you can get away without reading that first. Just to be warned, you probably won’t like Danica as much if you read this one first.

This one, similar to Not the Witch You Wed and Ex Hex is very much contemporary romance with a paranormal twist, with just enough steam to keep our smut-seeking souls happy, but not so much to make you blush. Pick this up when you want something light-hearted and delightful that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca and Netgalley for an ARC of this book! I love the sweet mix of romance with fantasy tropes. This is definitely more on the contemporary side since it is set in present day, but I love the witchy elements. Clem was so headstrong and I was so proud of her for standing up for herself multiple times throughout the book. Gavin was also a really enjoyable character (he's British!!) and I liked the banter and cuteness between him and Clem. I also thought this book was spicier than the first one and I was living for that! The cameos and continuation of characters from the first book was nice to see in this one as well. Overall, I fully had a great time reading this one.

FIVE STARS WITCHES!!!!!!

Clem has my whole heart. Her attitude towards solving problems and her ease and wit completely won me over. In book one I thought she was a bit of a wet blanket, and now after reading book 2, that's how I feel about Danica 🤣

Gavin was so so so charming. The accent, his easy demeanor and love of tiny farm animals. I loved the banter between him and Clem, and I totally fell for him too.

The main storyline was really exciting and different. I was on the edge of my seat, and devoured this book in just over 18 hours (between sleeping, working, and driving).

Plus the plot twists towards the end literally made me exclaim OHHH MYYY GOSHHH out loud. Loud enough to frighten my husband.

This book has humor, wit, and a lot of heart. I love this little universe.... Now bring on Leanne's book!!!! 😍😍

The premise of Boss Witch sounded so good, I was thrilled when my request was approved!

A paranormal romcom with witches living amongst the mundanes and using their powers throughout their daily lives, all while trying to avoid catching the eye of witch hunters. Clementine Waterhouse shoulders a lot in her life. When a witch hunter comes to town thanks to her cousin Danica, she assures her coven, her sisters, that she will take care of everything. I was pleasantly surprised by the plot and Ann Aguirre has a gift for Grade A banter and sexual tension. Gavin and Clem each have their own wounds, most of which have been inflicted by their families and it was beautiful watching them heal as individuals -- their chemistry was undeniable but some of my favorite parts were their more domestic moments.

I love female characters who own their sexuality. Clem knows what she wants, even when she's just playing a game, and she's not afraid to say it out loud. The actual feelings that develop are more of a slow burn, though the insta-lust is always a bonus! I loved how the book took on more of a thriller angle towards the end, I really enjoyed seeing Gavin step into his own and stand up for what he believed in. And BENSON? I love him and I love that Clem tried to pretend she didn't have feelings, even then.

Overall, such a fun read! I enjoyed the story line, Clem and Gavin themselves, and the almost political drama that unfolded throughout. The only thing that made it kind of hard for me to connect with the story was that it was written in third person. Other than that, I truly enjoyed it!

Thank you to NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca and Ann Aguirre for this eARC! This is a voluntary review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an ARC of Boss Witch. All opinions are my own.

I was so excited to receive an ARC of this book since Witch Please was a very highly anticipated read in 2021 for me. It is a contemporary romance about magic with switching POV, strong family/friend bonds, and is LGBTQIA+ positive/sex positive? YES PLEASE! This book was so much fun, and I loved the overlap with Witch Please. You don't need to read Witch Please in my mind to read and enjoy this book, but I definitely think it helps, since this book starts towards the end of Witch Please and continues on. I saw there is going to be a third book in the series and I am already super excited for that one and can see how it will tie in to these two & have a guess where it will pick up from this book.

This book follows Clem as she tries to distract the witch hunter that comes to town due to Danica's actions in Witch Please. It alternates between Clem's perspective and Gavin the witch hunter's perspective, and both characters are very distinct & fun to read. Clem definitely got on my nerves a lot more than Danica did, but Gavin made up for my annoyance.

It was a really enjoyable read, and I was able to finish it in just a few days. I can't say I liked it more or less than Witch Please, since Clem & Danica are quite different, but the relationships between all of the characters is just so incredibly lovely. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. 4.5/5

Thank you, Sourcebooks Casablanca, for allowing me to read Boss Witch early!

I requested this title when I saw the cover reveal for the third in the series. All covers look stunning and although I haven't read the first one (yet|), I wanted to dive into this enthralling queer romance series as soon as possible! I really loved this book. It was fun, romantic and exciting, all the ingredients that make a book excellent.

This book is filled with everything enemies to lovers, forbidden romance, and magic. What else can you ask for? I loved how the most bossy witch in town fell for the unexpected. Grab it April 5th!

I read Witch Please and Boss Witch one after the other, because I wanted to get the full feel of this universe and I’m glad I did that. Because having all of the background necessary for the Waterhouse witches really helped make book two that much stronger. While Witch Please set the tone for the series and the Waterhouse family, Boss Witch really carried the entire story. I’m a sucker for witches and magic and that was lacking in the first book, but the second one had that and so much more. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into, but I’m really happy with how it all worked out. It is recommended to read these two books in order even though there are scenes that overlap through the second book, but reading the first one gives you a full look into this family, their magic and all the drama that follows.

I was really curious about how Clementine would get Gavin off Danica’s scent after he showed up in town and I have to say that I absolutely loved their scenes together. The flirting and the banter were entertaining and I really enjoyed watching them resist each other every step of the way. I also definitely liked the whole forbidden romance aspect because as a witch, Clem really shouldn’t have anything to do with Gavin as a witch hunter and vice versa. But sometimes, the heart and body wants what it wants. Gavin was such an interesting character! While I liked Titus, he didn’t really make me feel a whole lot. Whereas Gavin’s struggle and torment about being a witch hunter, the dislike he has for his father and the family business all added so much more to him as a character. It also made the relationship between Clem and Gavin that much stronger and interesting, because they had their own wounds and they had this external complication that was really testing them every step of the way.

Clementine was also a much more interesting heroine than Danica was and I loved how much she brought to the table. She’s tough, stubborn and sarcastic, she’s also fearless and sometimes a little reckless, but all of that made her so interesting. She uses all her strengths to get what she wants and steps back to lean on others when things get tough. I feel like one of the reasons she’s more interesting is because this book is not only about her relationship with Gavin, it’s about her relationship with the coven and Danica, her grandmother and her parents. All of these little pieces and elements really lends to making Clem a more rounded and lovable character.

I knew that their relationship was going to be way hotter than book one and it was. I loved the insta-lust and the unyielding desire to just have each other all the time. But I also loved how slow they took it, how they built this connection up with all that sexual tension and the teasing before they leaped at the chance for more. The combination of their emotional and physical relationship really strengthened what they had going for them and I loved that so much.

My favourite thing about this book is the amount of magic that we finally get to see. In the first book, there’s a certain amount of magic and we don’t see Danica do more than that. But with this book, Clementine and the coven use magic and talk about magic more than I expected. I loved that we got to see them be actual witches instead of women who have powers and use it on the side. It also gives us a better glimpse into the working of the coven, which was such a treat for me and connected us to each of those women in a completely new way.

All in all, this book made me happy and I enjoyed it for all that it was. And knowing that Leanne and Trevor are getting their own book makes me so giddy, because the little teaser we got in this book has me super excited to see where things go!

Boss Witch is a paranormal romantic comedy about Clementine Waterhouse and Witch Hunter, Gavin Rhys. It is the second book in the Fix- It Witches series, the first book, Witch Please, following Danica’s story with Titus. This book wasn’t my favorite. My biggest problem with this book was the timeline. The first half the book is basically a repeat of Witch Please, but from Clem and Gavin’s perspective. Therefore, nothing new really happens until the 75% mark and then things start to get interesting.

But then the epilogue happens, and it is 18 months later. The epilogue makes me think the same problem with timing and pacing is going to happen in the 3rd book, Extra Witchy, which is Leanne’s story. I think it is hard to show an epilogue in the future in Witch Please and Boss Witch, but then go back to the present day for the start of the next novel. It is very confusing.

I also highly recommend you read Witch Please first or you are going to be somewhat confused by the family dynamic and some of the terminology used.

I would take a chance on this book if you like:
• Dual POV
• Forbidden Romance
• Small Town setting
• Paranormal Romance

My favorite part of the whole book was the mouse, named Benson.
