This would be a cute read for some but I was not fully drawn in. The romance lacked the chemistry largely due to the main character being pretty unlikable.

A fun and enjoyable young adult contemporary romance! I'm intrigued to read more from Lucy Keating in the future! Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read the book.

Cute story overall, but the bad boy/good girl premise is nothing original. Andre and Charlie did not have much chemistry in my opinion, Charlie deserved so much better!

This very much wasn’t quite what I was expecting from the synopsis and I really struggled to make my way through this as a result. I didn’t quite get on with the characters either but the writing was fun!

It took me a long while to finish Ride With Me, it lost me about a third of the way through.

Andre and Charlie were great main characters, both with their own motivations and distinct personalities. That said, because the plot of the book is mainly just them figuring shit out, it slowed right down quite early on and so did my reading.

For me, this book was quite weak as a romance. The coming-of-age, contemporary themes were spot on, but the chemistry between the MCs was lacking too much for me to get invested in their relationship. That said, I did like that both Andre and Charlie grew together throughout the book, always boosting one another to be better.

Overall, a strong YA contemporary with relatable characters and an interesting premise, just not one that stands out for me.

Thank you to the publisher for this e-arc, I appreciate you.

I expected a little more out of this, but I would say I enjoyed it. I think I'm just getting a little too old for YA novels, I find many plot points to be juvenile and I just skimmed along. All in all, I can definitely see the appeal and I can see how this would be a great book for a bit younger of an audience than my mid-30s self.

Ride with Me was an amazing, short and sweet contemporary book! I found the book to be pretty simple but nice for a quick weekend read or when you need something light and cute to make you feel better. The book did just that for me, it was something light to read as a pick me up where I didn't have to worry too much. I did find that the plot was a little lacking in twists and turns and I didn't really click with the main character Charlie. I thought that the love story between Charlie and Andre was cute and simple. If you like reading contemporary books and simple love stories, then this book might be a good fit for you. I personally, lean towards more complex story lines and slightly different genre, but overall this book was great so I recommend.

I enjoyed the setting of this novel, as it's fun to see a part of the state represented that is not often shown in media. As usual in novels like this one, seeing how the characters bring out the best in one another is truly the reward for the reader.

Read this if you like: Opposites attract, friends to lovers, forced proximity

I enjoyed this one. It's so cute! There were a few things I found odd though not enough to ruin it for me. It was a bit slow at first. It showed the growth between Andre and Charlie pretty well. They could have had more chemistry but it was still adorable. I definitely recommend it!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and Clarion for the gifted e-book ❤️

Overall, this was just too YA for me. I really didn't like Charlie and she got more and more annoying to me as the book went on. I also found it a little boring with all the art and architecture. She was constantly ditching her friends just to make a few extra dollars with a one off rides hare program. Then when she gets mad at Andre (?) and claiming that if he reports her she will loose her job? Seems like that's on her for being not a great driver.
I didn't understand their relationship at all ,
Overall, I did not like this book at all and didn't feel like it had much believability or relatability to teenage years.

This book was a light, fun read. I enjoyed it and would probably pick it up to read again. Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.

This was such a charming opposites attract YA romance that sees local ride share driver, Charlie crashing into Andre and having to drive him around as payment. I loved the banter and the chemistry between these two. The book gave all sorts of Lynn Painter and Emma Lord vibes. Highly recommended for fans of The do-over and great on audio with a GORGEOUS cover designed by Leni Kauffman. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

Sweet and cute - the premise was fun and I enjoyed the characters. Charlie has her eyes on her future and getting out of town, and Andre is a fun-loving friend to all. They complement each other and push each other to grow.

Unfortunately, I DNF'd.

I struggled to get into it, procrastinated, continued, procrastinated some more, and then just gave up.

I do love Lucy and her words, so I was eager to get to this story.

I really liked Charlie and Andre. She's wound a bit tight with her eyes on the future. He's everyone's friend and living in the now. Together they have loads of button pushing and it was delightful seeing them figure things out. There's a pretty big cast of characters here and I'll admit I confused (or forgot) a few of them.

Plot wise, it was a bit slow, but I get the intention behind it. I definitely needed to see Charlie and Andre's growth, both as individuals and as a couple. I loved all of the architectural and art aspects and the epilogue really worked for me.

Overall, this was a sweet read with characters who were easy to root for. I can't wait to see what Lucy shares next.

Such a cute premise!! But I felt like every time I thought something would happen, nothing happened. It was cute in theory but fell a little flat and I felt like there was much more the write could have done.

3.5 stars rounded up
