This collection is built up with a wonderful variety of poems - from vast, long poems to haikus - all about those everyday things in a way that makes I could see, hear and smell them. Within its pages I found the love for ordinary things and ordinary days that makes me happy.

Turning ordinary things into art. Recognizing the beauty that is sometimes hard to see. If this is something that you as a reader enjoys, then this is the poetry collection for you.
The haikus and senryus were particularly beautiful in this collection and I have not seen a lot of them in my poetry reading recently, so it was nice to see and appreciate them again.
Again this collection is all about ordinary days, thing that people do and pass by and never realize just what they are or could become.
A stunning example of what can happen when you slow down and see the world as an artist's palette.

Thank you to Obed Ladiny and Netgalley for a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this collection of poetry! I do not have much experience reading poetry, and wanted to give it a try, and what a great first choice! I appreciate that it is everyday sort of poetry, and not super flowery and snobbish. There were still some parts that went over my head, if I’m honest, but I am grateful to have read it and had the exposure to Obeds works!!!

A big thank you to Net Galley for providing me with an e-copy of this book in exchange of an honest review. "Ordinary Days: A Poetry Collection" by Obed Ladiny is a poetry collection, in which, because of the curious approach, the reader gets to experience the ordinary (and not so ordinary) things in life through poetry. There is a huge contrast in the book thanks to the intricate but at times rather simplistic writing style of the author, I liked the overall structure of the poetry collection as well as the concept. The longer poems tended to appeal to me more, as in them I could actually sense some emotions. All in all, a very nice read for poetry lovers.

I haven't gotten a chance to read poetry in a while and truthfully this was a great way to dive back in. The movement and imagery in the author's poems really paint the perfect picture of ordinary life. I particularly enjoyed the lengthier pieces where the author let their emotions seep into the words. Definitely recommend whether you're into poetry or not!
