A haunting and atmospheric novel. Hitting just the right notes with its pastoral and dystopian setting, Lulu Allison puts you firmly into this book with a strong sense of place. I am sure certain reviews will complain about the plethora of dystopian novels decrying the death of valuable traditions. But this is our reality, nothing in the news gives any hint that there should be hope on the horizon.

This is such an interesting concept that is simple, yet beautifully done. This is really character focused and artfully done.

In the past, I haven't reviewed books that I haven't read. But, I have changed my mind. Firstly, I think that the fact that I couldn't finish a book is a valid criticism and this is where we give feedback to the publisher. Secondly, I need to get my score up. I will not post this anywhere else but here. My rating will be based on what other people would think about this work.

i thought that this book had an interesting premise and that it was well written. However, i was never engaged and found it hard to keep motivated
