As a mental health professional, it disheartens me to see people painting themselves as experts such as this. The use of inspirational quotes and life 'hacks' does not a mental health professional make, and I feel people may be lured in by the sensationalist, baity title. It is clear the author comes from a limited evidence-base, and so this is not a book I can confidently recommend to others.

Giuseppe Ferraro shows you how to use the way your brain works to your advantage. Thanks to neuroplasticity as well as the right practices, your brain can adapt, learn, and rejuvenate. From Agony To Bliss gives you the tools and strategies to use the power of your brain to overcome your limiting beliefs. This book is a toolbox in which you can find what you need to improve your life.

"From Agony To Bliss" by Giuseppe Ferraro is... just okay.

This book is an introduction to how the mind works, how believes are formed and what people can do to reframe them. However, Ferraro is not a mental health professional, but rather a mind/emotion-hacking enthusiast who tries to apply certain wellbeing strategies to help his readers advance. And you can tell he's not a psychologist and his knowledge is rather limited by reading the last chapter, where he encourages "healthy" eating and ascribes moral value to food, which is potentially triggering to those who live with ED or any type of disordered eating. The author uses his platform to give advice based on his opinions, not always scientific facts and that might be quite problematic. I believe some readers who experience limiting believes will find a certain value in this book, though.

I hate giving bad ratings AND I confess I did not read this in its entirety, however:

I feel this may sell well on Amazon due to its clickbaity title and tag line, by which I mean it follows the trend of most self help books in promising miraculous results. Having said that, it could be a nice and gentle read for someone fairly new to the genre, although I’m not sure how it would stand out in a sea of similar titles.

Too inspirational quote heavy for me, but some readers will love that. Basically, this book isn’t for me but if this book finds it’s reader it may well be their cup of tea.

Thank you to #NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for a copy of #FromAgonyToBliss in exchange for an honest review.

I was interested in this title as I love the Law of Attraction and books on positivity. I would consider this book an entry level book to those who have no prior reading knowledge in that. If you have already read books on the subject matter, not a lot of new ideas are brought to the table. And due to the fast paced nature of this book, it is not too in-depth to bring something new.

I do recognize that this will serve as a fast read and easy way to introduce a better mindset to those who are new to the concept, and that is I think the ideal audience. Ferraro also quotes many other great tiles and reads, which I think the audience will benefit from.
