So bummed that this series is ending. It always made me want to sit on the beach with a big glass of sweet tea. It was a good end to the series and I’ll definitely read more from this author.

Everly finally has her chance for happily ever after with the love of her life if only there was not that family curse. She has a multitude of people helping with research to find facts to disprove the curse but when a researcher is murdered there seems to be more involved than just a curse.

This is one of my favorite cozy mystery series so when I saw this was the last book in the series I was feeling disappointed. However, it was handled so well with some conclusion for all the characters I have become so invested in through seven books that in the end I felt content. Thanks to Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for an ARC. The opinions expressed are my own.

Everly Swan is getting ready to marry detective Grady Hays. Everly, believing the Swan women are cursed in love, asks someone to look into her family history. The person dies before giving Everly what she found. This was the perfect ending to one of my favorite series. It made me sad that the series has ended but I loved the way Bree Baker ended it. That epilogue made me so emotional. I have fallen in love with these characters, and it was just the perfect ending to Grady and Everly's love story. The mystery was well done. I did not suspect the killer at all. If I could give higher than 5 stars I would. This is a must-read series.

I received this book from net galley in exchange for an honest review.

I tried so hard not to rush through this book since I knew it was the last book in the series, but I read it in one day. The prologue alone made me swoon, so i knew this was going to be great. I seriously could not put it down. Such a great story with so many unexpected twists. What a wonderful finish to the series! The author really knocked it out of the park with this one!

Thank you NetGalley, Bree Baker and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC of Pleading the Fish. This is my personal review.
This is sadly the final book in the Seaside Café Mystery series. I have enjoyed every book in this series.
This book has every part that a cozy mystery needs to have to make a person keep turning the pages.
Thank you to the author for wrapping up the series so well.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Everly Swan helps solve another murder. This is the final Everly Swan mystery, and it not only details her involvement in the mystery, but it also relates what happens between her and her boyfriend, Grady Hays. I highly recommend this book to other cozy mystery readers.

Pleading the Fish is the final book of the series. I enjoyed the first book and glad she did not have to drag the story on. I hope she does make a mystery series. I have grown to love the characters, and some of them did grow. The epilogue was interesting. Only one thing I could not understand was the cursed thing. Was there an underlying issue with the curse? I could not tell.

I had some suspicions of who “dunnit.” I guessed it right. However, it was still fun to read when the mystery was revealed. Recommend this to anyone interested in cozy mysteries. Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read an arc in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I absolutely love this series, the setting makes me wants me to take a vacation.
I would love to open my own small business and this protagonist does just this. Even if you haven't read the other books in the series, you can still follow along fine with the characters.

So sad that this series is ending, but I'm happy with the ending and loved the storyline. The characters were fantastic and the story moved at a nice pace. I couldn't put the book down, I had to know who the murderer was. I didn't see that coming.

I received an eARC for this book from Poisoned Pen Press but all opinions are mine.

I can't believe this series is finished - admittedly I haven't read all past six books so I might have missed some references but nonetheless enjoyed reading this! This is a read if you want to have romance, with a little dose of suspense and drama.

A nice and cute mystery, a little dark for a cozy mystery but I loved the beach setting and it was a great conclusion!

I loved This series! It had mystery and a hint of Romance and focus on friendships and family. I was sad to see the series ending but it think the author left everyone in a good place. I want I go back and reread the previous ones again because they’re that enjoyable. I look forward to reading more from Bree baker

How lovely it was to solve one last mystery with Everly Swan, and how hard it is to say goodbye.

Pleading the Fish by Bree Bakers is the final installment of the Seaside Café Mystery series and what a punch it delivers. It's hard to adequately say goodbye to series that means so much to me. Everly and her mysterious adventures in Charm got me back into reading after years of struggling to find the joy I had as a kid reading Nancy Drew, and introduced me the cozy mystery genre as a whole.

Pleading the Fish picks up right where Partners in Lime ends, with Grady proposing to Everly and a mission to discover the truth about the Swan family curse. But what would it be without one last mystery to solve along the way? Truthfully I think that finales are generally hard to knock out of the park, but Baker manages to do just that. The mystery in this book seemed like one of the most real and intriguing mysteries in the series, and the ending was as satisfying as possible. This book is full of moments coming full circle. Everly finally comes to terms with her family history, the identity of the Town Charmer is finally revealed, and every character it seems gets the happy ending they've been slowly heading towards since the beginning.

Truthfully I was not expecting the epilogue, especially the chapters from Denver and Grady's points of view. I've often heard people say that epilogues are used fan service or taking the easy way out of concluding the story. That couldn't be farther from the case here. I cried multiple times throughout this book, but nothing punched me in the gut quite like reading the final three chapters. I felt like I grew along with these characters, their family and friends as the series went on and to see them in the future was really emotional. It was truly hard to see their stories end, but I know Charm and its cast of lovely people will be there when I'm read to start again from the beginning.

Well, it's finally time to say goodbye to Everly and Grady and the whole Seaside Cafe family. But not before they finally walk down the aisle! Of course, that can't happen without a little hijinks from an outside. Everly is afraid she's never going to get away from that darn family curse, but Grady is going to save the day. And Everly will do a little snooping herself.

This series was so much fun to read. Bree Baker is the queen of cozy mysteries, and I'm sad to see this one end. It will be fun to see what she has in store for her readers next, though!

This review is honestly so bittersweet to write, as I'm sad to see Bree Baker's beloved Seaside Café Mystery series come to an end. This series has been one of my favorite cozy mystery series right from reading the first title, and I'm not sure I'm truly read to say goodbye to these beloved characters. However, I will say that the author truly delivers an emotional and heartfelt final installment, and definitely gives each character the ending they deserve.

In Pleading the Fish, the reader is treated to two separate mysteries. Everly and Grady are finally preparing to take the big leap and get married, but Everly is hesitant based on her family's strange history. When Grady comes up with the idea of researching the family history to try and find the truth behind the "curse" that Everly's grown up believing, they end up enlisting the help of a local historian. Things turn sinister when that local historian is found dead at the town's historic property, and Everly takes it as a sign that maybe her family's curse is true after all. However, something much more sinister is about to emerge, and soon Everly is worried about not just her safety but the safety of all the people she's come to care about. It'll take everyone working together to get to the bottom of the family's curse and solve the gruesome murder that someone went to great lengths to try and hide.

In true Bree Baker fashion, I never wanted to see this one come to an end, and I loved getting to investigate everything going on right along with Everly. We see relationships change, friendships grow stronger and new ones emerge, changes happening for all of Everly's beloved friends and family, and both mysteries wrap up in ways that the reader will not be able to see coming.

All in all, Pleading the Fish was the perfect send off to this delightful cozy mystery series, and I was very pleased with how the author chose to wrap everything up. I've never been the biggest fan of the curses and whatnot that have played a big part of this series, and I personally really enjoyed the way that all of those parts of the story are concluded here in ways I wasn't expecting. Without spoiling anything, I also have to state how much I loved the epilogues as not only did they provide a heartwarming finale, they also gave us a peak into some of the other characters POV's.

Final Rating: 4/5.

I definitely look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Thanks so much to Poisoned Pen Press for allowing me to advance read and review this one!

Reading this book was bittersweet in that it is the final book in the Seaside Café Mysteries series by Bree Baker. Ms. Baker did an outstanding job of wrapping this series up and it should make everyone happy—except for the obvious fact that it is over, which makes me sad.

Everly Swan never thought that she would get a happily ever after due to a longstanding belief that every Swan woman was cursed in love. I love how her fiancé, Detective Grady Hays, has a reasonable explanation for anything that Everly considered a curse or a roadblock to their happiness and works to convince Everly that they are not doomed and he will not die.

Everly feels that it is her fault when the historian investigating the Swan family history is murdered. Because she knew Susan and feels responsible, she begins investigating and of course is threatened at every turn. The killer takes it one step too far in publicly threatening Everly through the Town Charmer, as if that would make Everly stop. I find that during the last two investigations that Grady and Everly are pretty much in sync while independently investigating. Grady seems to be one step ahead of her in that he is following the clues and has a suspect, which he cannot share with Everly. Everly discovers the killer just a little bit behind Grady, which puts her in danger. Think what they could accomplish if they could investigate openly together!

The description of the wedding dresses that have been preserved and kept for future generations by Everly's aunts was great. The connection she felt to the dress she chose was touching. If only we had the family history collected that Everly does through journals, recipes, and the dresses.

I liked how things were tied up and explained in this book. New futures for friends and relatives happened, as well as old wounds healed. The epilogues for Denver and Grady were touching, especially Grady’s, where we are allowed a glimpse 20-plus years into the future. While I hate to see the series end, Ms. Baker did a fabulous job bringing us a mostly happy ending. Plus, we find out who the Town Charmer is!

This was bittersweet. I didn’t realize this would be the last book in the series and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. I enjoyed the story but I wish there where more details about the Swan family history. Overall, it was a good ending to this series.

A perfect conclusion to a much beloved cozy mystery series.

Everly Swan has a lot on her plate in this story. Planning a wedding, breaking a family curse, running her tea shop, and solving a murder is certainly keeping her busy!

I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the mystery and am sad to know that this is the last tale with all of Bree Baker's wonderfully quirky characters. I guess I'll have to go start over with book one now!

This is the final installment of this series. I am so sad to see it end as it is one my very favorites.

Everley Swan owns the Sand Sun and Tea Iced Tea shop and is known amateur sleuth who is planning her wedding to Det Grady Hayes. The Swan women (including Everley and her Aunts Fran and Clair) have believed that anyone they love is cursed to die young. Everley's friends and Grady are doing everything they can to convince her otherwise. Everley has asked local researcher Susan Thames to help research the curse. Susan is soon found dead and Everley is once again on the hunt for a killer.

This is a fun read and a good mystery. It kept me guessing until the end of the book. While I am sad that the series is ending, Ms. Baker ended it so fantastically. I loved the epilogues. I had a smile on my face when I finished it. Bravo!

I was given a digital ARC by NetGalley and Poison Pen Press for an honest review.

“Pleading the Fish” the 7th and final instalment in the A Seaside Cafe Mystery Series by Bree Baker. It was bittersweet reading as I knew there wouldn’t be another, which could be why it took me longer to read as I just did not want it to end. I’m so glad the author knew in advance so she could wrap up the series for us, with no loose ends.

Everly Swan's wedding plans are upended by a dead body. She'll have to run her teashop, find a dress, and catch a murderer all before she can walk down the aisle!

As I have said so many times before one of my favourite things about the books is the sense of family, friendship and how the community comes together. This time was no different as Everly's wedding approaches.

The mystery is interesting and well plotted, with enough twists to keep you interested. I kept guessing and second-guessing myself on whodunnit right to the very end. I recommend this book to all my cozy lover friends.

I requested and received an Advanced Readers Copy from Poison Pen Press and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
