So I dont know if it is the baseball elements, the spice or just the characters themselves... but I loved this. I think Tara Wyatt did an amazing job of balancing smut and plot and overall I just have no notes. I will absolutely devour anything she writes.

I enjoyed this story and found it ok. There was much character development. At times I didn't like Beau. His actions seemed immature.

Beau is looking at free agency so he is working on coming up with a plan to keep him out of the papers. He figures by staying out of the press he can get what he feels he is worth. When he meets YouTube channel fitness star Piper Rhodes who trains wealthy clients and professional athletes. He makes an offer of financing her for what she needs if she agrees to be his fake girlfriend. She does not agree to fight away because Beau has a reputation of being a manwhore, but the more she thinks about what the money can do for her career she agrees. Having to spend time together and act like a real couple is nothing that Beau has ever done and as Piper gives him more lessons than just working out, he begins to have feelings for her which scares him. Read this book to find out what happens, a very good story.

This was a fun baseball romance read. Not a whole lot of character development; kind of par for the course with these books. It was entertaining.

If you like the fake relationship trope then you will love this cute romance between Beau and Piper.Beau needs a better reputation and Piper needs money to follow her dreams and so these two make a bargain. I enjoyed the writing, story and characters in this book and cannot wait to read about Hunter next.

Piper is a busy woman. Between teaching yoga and trying to start her own business, she has no time for nonsense. Especially when that nonsense comes from hunky baseball player, Beau. They've spent months flirting back and forth, but for Piper that is all it is. Harmless right? That is until Beau is told his contract is on the line if he doesn't get a handle on his reputation. Teams don't want a loose cannon, and Beau needs to clean up his image. A girlfriend would help with his womanizing playboy ways. And Piper is the perfect victim, uh, candidate. After being denying a loan for her business startup, Piper cannot refuse the money Beau promises if she pretends to be his girlfriend until he gets his career straightened out.

A classic fake relationship trope, feelings grow and soon the fake relationship starts to get a little too real. Good steamy scenes. Piper is a driven character, wanting to stand on her own two feet. Beau is the classic bad boy with a good heart. Trust and commitment issues abound. There's more depth under the surface of seemingly shallow Beau than he lets on. Spoilers: I absolutely love that Beau was the one to make the big sacrifice for Piper by moving, rather than her being the one to give up her dream for him. A great classic, easy read romance. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

A very heartwarming story with a lot of sass, great dialogue, great characters, sweet and sexy moments. Piper and Beau bring the heat and fun to this story. When we meet Beau he comes across as a player and he needs to clean up his reputation. Piper is a hardworking woman with great dreams. Beau needs the kind of help that Piper can provide and off we go on their quest not to get attached! Hint it does not work.

A complimentary copy was provided in exchange for my honest review and opinion. I do not give spoilers so please look elsewhere. You have the right to not have the wonderful story ruined with spoilers. Sports and hotness is the theme of this book. It is a perfect and hot romance.

HIT AND RUN is the fifth instalment in Tara Wyatt’s contemporary, adult TEXAS LONGHORNS erotic, romance baseball series. This is thirty-two year old, Texas Longhorns shortstop Beau Beckett, and twenty-seven year old, yoga instructor Piper Rhodes’ story line. HIT AND RUN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Piper and Beau) HIT AND RUN follows the fake boyfriend/girlfriend relationship between thirty-two year old, Texas Longhorns shortstop Beau Beckett, and twenty-seven year old, yoga instructor Piper Rhodes. Beau Beckett is having one of the best seasons of his career. At the end of his contract, with free agency on the line, Beau might have his pick of any team in the league but Beau’s reputation off the field is another matter entirely, and his actions have threatened his future as a major league star. In an effort to tame his reputation, Beau asks Texas Longhorns yoga instructor Piper Rhodes to pretend to be his girlfriend, a woman who stirs something deep within our story line hero. What ensues is the building romance and relationship Piper and Beau, and the potential fall out as both of their careers are taking off, in opposite directions.

Piper Rhodes is desperate to start her own on-line app, an app for which she is struggling for money. When the bank refuses her final application, Piper battles between head and heart until Beau Beckett makes her an offer she cannot refuse. As their ‘pretend’ relationship takes hold, hearts will be broken when Beau is offered the a multi-million dollar contract in Seattle, while Piper is offered her own spot on national TV.

The relationship between Piper and Beau begins as a fake arrangement, one in which both will benefit from their fabricated lies. Beau is desperate to clean up his reputation, and Piper struggles to fund the app that she hopes to make her a star. With both having issues of trust, neither one is willing to commit to forever, at the very least for the foreseeable future. As Piper and Beau continue their ruse, neither one expected to fall in love. The $ex scene are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, fun and energetic secondary and supporting characters including most of the previous story line couples.

HIT AND RUN is a thought-provoking story of secrets and lies, trust and communication, lust and love. The premise is heartwarming, encouraging and uplifting; the romance is provocative and sensual; the characters are feisty, sassy and spirited.

After discovering (and loving) The Prescotts series from Tara, I decided to dive into the Dallas Longhorns series. And yay! These are just as yummy as the Prescott . The Prescotts even star in this series, so I felt right at home. Beau is a player, on and off the field. When his sex life and sex drive become more important on social media than his sport stats, his manager tells him to become celibate for the rest of the season or to pick a girlfriend, even a fake one.

Piper has landed a nice part time job as a yoga instructor for the Dallas Longhorns. However, she needs a lot of money to boost her online fit channel. Unfortunately the banks are not eager to loan her the money for her investment. When Beau offers her te money in exchange for her pretending to be his girlfriend for the rest of the season, she doesn’t hesitate. Her dream is finally within reach!

Pretending to be Beau’s girlfriend isn’t so hard. In fact, while spending time together, Piper learns that there is so much more to Beau than just a player Beau didn’t expect to fall for the sassy yoga instructor. But for once in his life, he feels a real connection: someone who sees the real Beau. But Piper has dreams of her own. So to love, is to let go. And that may be the hardest thing to do for Beau.

Can he let her go, to follow her dreams? Find out for yourself, in this funny, cute and hot read. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

This is sports romance. Piper and Beau make a deal for ake romance to improve Beau's image, but they fall for each other but they don't know how to express their feelings. So I didn't especially love this story, both Beau and Piper were not my type and I didn't love the way the story had developed.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

4.5. Stars

I usually prefer romance books with a dual POV, so I wasn’t sure at all about this. But I totally enjoyed it, it’s really well written. Both characters are well developed and I thought the story had a great pace.
The sport element was well done and there’s a good cast of characters in the background.

A fairly tired and common trope given a good turn with some great writing and characterisation.

Not really experienced sports romances before but this was a great read. Beau was great as the sexy sportsman with a reputation and piper was sweet as the yoga instructor desperate to sexpand her business. I guessed that some of the other characters had been in previous books. Will definitely read more.

Hit and Run is quite a sweet romance between Piper and Beau. They both have a lot of baggage from their childhood and think that the last thing that they want is a relationship. When they start to pretend to be in a relationship, in order to repair Beau's reputation, it soon becomes clear that there's nothing fake about their feelings for one another.
This isn't a long story, but it still works really well and I enjoyed reading about the way that their feelings for one another develop. Beau has a troubled past when it comes to women, having had both his fair share and just about everyone else's. Piper doesn't judge him on that though and they work really well together.
This was a quick but enjoyable read. I liked Beau and Piper as a couple and liked reading about their romance. I hadn't read the other books in this series, but I don't think that it really mattered.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily.

I love a good sports romance and I was excited to be given an ARC of this book via netgalley. There wasn’t anything new to the story, it was your pay a fake girlfriend to make your imagine better troupe. But Beau and Piper made for a good couple and I enjoyed their story. There is also some hot love scenes! All opinions are my own.

Trainer Piper Rhodes wants to expand her business and needs a silent partner for funding. Beau Beckett, shortstop for the team that she trains needs a pretend girlfriend and will invest in return. In spite of Beau's past of indiscriminately using women, he falls hard for Piper, who takes a bit of convincing that this will relationship will work out. Hit and Run is a delight; great character development and plotting ensure a fun read.

Hit and Run is the right amount of erotica and fluff in a small package. Beau is a big cuddler, and Piper has her dreams and will do what it takes to get them. 100% read by the pool or on a lazy day around the house!

Mein Leseerlebnis

Beau is a Texas Longhorn. Piper is the team's yoga instructor. A sweet story of finding love. It passed the hours in an afternoon, but didn 't really offer any strong emotions. But still, a great read if you want something light.
Thanks to NetGalley for providing this copy in exchange for my unpaid, honest review.

Sports romance fans look out - Beau and Piper are here.

Beau Beckett plays for the Longhorn. He's often in strife, rarely out of the tabloids and has a list of rules for himself in order to avoid emotional connections with the opposite sex. Piper is the Longhorn's yoga instructor who is career minded and driven. She wants to head a fitness and wellbeing juggernaut.

When Beau's image takes a battering and needs a little tweaking, Piper presents Beau with a business opportunity that might work for both of them. Piper will pretend to be in a relationship with Beau, and Beau will invest in Piper's app development. Neither expect to enjoy each other's company, and neither expect they share some similar life experiences, which give them some shared emotional currency. The question throughout is how this is going to end and whose heart is going to be broken.

Firstly, getting past the payment being offered for service rendered .... Piper is a strong character, focused, driven, and very clear about the direction she wants her life to go. Professionally one wonders about continuing to be the yoga instructor for the team when she's "involved' with one of the star players - but anything is possible in a romance novel, right? What was great about this was the intensity of Beau's feelings, his relationship with another character in the book, and the premise of having to show one "face" to the world, whilst you're growing into something else. There was a degree of macho masculinity in a couple of scenes, but the dialogue around them gave Beau a depth lacking in his earlier persona.

This is the fifth book in the Dallas Longhorn Series, I've read the first of this series and missed a couple I'll need to go back and read.

I especially loved the ending in this one but won't give any spoilers as to the reason why.
