Greg is definitely a Seal who needs to find a new purpose. The new job does just that plus I think that Mattie is a big part of it. I love the treasure part of the book.

I'd come into this book completely blind - I'd never read anything by Leslie North before but the description intrigued me - I'm a sucker for a single mom romance and this did not disappoint - with a ex-SEAL no less.

The novel is about a museum director, Mattie Salisbury who'd relocated from sunny California with her daughter Liza, to escape from her past (mainly from her ex-husband who's an absolute waste of oxygen) three years ago. When the museum gets vandalised repeatedly (attributed to reports of a 'haunting' that starts to see her revenue decline), she enacts the help of a team to install a new security system. Here, she meets Greg, a former navy SEAL who'd been forced into retirement due to an injury and was now working for Team Oracle security.

Honestly, this book surprised me. I came into it with no expectations and I can 100% say that pleasantly surprised me. Reading the book, I could feel that there was genuine chemistry between the two main characters and all the supporting characters were actively involved in the story. I adored Liza, and loved the relationship she and Greg had. Greg and Mattie were likeable, had easy banter and their character development was really well done.

I feel like this book would be best suited for anyone who loves:
- friends to lovers
- single mom
- bit of mystery
