This was a nice beginning but advanced reader. It says it’s a level 3 so it has “chapters” but it still frequently repeats, and has fewer words on the page than a beginning chapter book. The story is nothing special, but it works, and will do as intended.

An easy reading for kids, this book consists two stories. One about the meeting of Pinwheel and his "echo" and the other one is about Pinwheel the donkey meeting his new friends. An interesting read for kids who can read by themselves, with easy wordings and simple story.

Pinwheel Days is made up of two stories, The Echo and Waving. Pinwheel the Donkey was out kicking the dirt, wishing he had someone to play with. He cried out that he wanted someone to play with and he heard an echo. He called out some other things and the echo called back until, the echo responded with something different. Pinwheel found a friend, a squirrel. They played hide and seek until they were tired. Each went home to make lunch and made something for their new friend and it was the same thing. They became great friends. In Waving, they see someone waving at them from across the pond. They wave until their arms get sore. They meet a new friend, rabbit who also waves. They decide to get in their boat and search out whoever is waving at her. It is another adventure where they make a new friend. This is a star reader for children who are becoming independent readers. It is described as a book with longer sentences, extended vocabulary and dialogue. My grandson read this with me and then he read it to his sister. A cute story about friendship.

What a fun story for young readers who are just learning to read and are ready to feel like they can understand a chapter book. The illustrations are enjoyable, but do not give away too much of the story like other lower level books can. Nocely written! I will be getting this for my classroom library.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Star Bright Books for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is a children's book. I always like to see books that have levels for early readers. This is a 3. The word choices are good and the story is interesting. I think this is a fun books that kids would enjoy. Easy to read on their own. The graphics were just ok. If I was not told that Pinwheel was a donkey I would not have known. 3.5 stars
