Will his prejudices wound the one person who does not judge him โ€ฆ

I discovered the authorโ€™s work with what is now labeled the second book in this series, and while I have not yet found time to read her latest release (the first in this series) which is stacked somewhere on my shelves, I did not want to miss this one, as like many there is nothing better to cheer the mood than a Christmas story.

Beth like her sisters in arms is back from the Crimean battlefields, but in this time of merry, she only dreads the celebration and avoids as much as possible to take part in them publicly.
Nate over the years has become a kind of a young Scrooge, only benefits and rising numbers quiet his fears but by moving up in society, he entered a different setting with some persons reminding them they were only upstarts. So he easily added curmudgeon and killjoy to his panoply of workaholic self.

They meet under unexpected circumstances as they were both looking for the same person.
So as they finally band together to help his uncle/her friend in needs, they come closer and learn to appreciate the other, if they can let their fears, doubts rest, as both altered the course of their existence because of them, retiring from social life.

A lovely tale of a young grumpy man and the woman who will reawaken his thirst for joy and simple pleasures.

I liked this story very much. It was about the working class, not the bonne ton. The heroine is the daughter of a baron who had a horrible season due to a prank that was played on her. She begged her parents and received permission to train under Florence Nightingale and was a nurse for about 2 years or more in Turkey during the Crimea War. Her family is heavily invested in charities, because their estates allow them a very good income. She volunteers at a Soup Charity Kitchen as a nurse , part time serving help and plays the piano for the people during supper. She has a few repeat patients that she sees, but she is concerned with one of her patients, who won a medal in the Crimea War. When he fails to come for a check up, that he always comes to, she goes looking for him in the slums where he lives.
Our hero is the son of a confectionierre. When he was 17, he stopped schooling and took over the business and made it extremely profitable. His parents were mostly the creative sort, and liked to give away candies. Under the hero's control, they expanded their confections and treats to the upper class and were now 'rolling in the dough'. So his parents moved him and the family from their middle class neighborhood to the gentry-fied neighborhood and they had some aristocratic neighbors. His mother often was upset that her brother wouldn't live with them, but this year, she sent the hero to look for his uncle. Who just happens to be our heroine's patient. They meet while searching and he saves her from being kidnapped and molested because she is upper class in the slums.
This story is set in the Christmas time when the traditions were changing. It was a lovely setting for renewed faith in man. This story has slint adventure and some malicious gossip. Since this is a lower class, it is nice to see how they lived and what problems they faced.
This book was well written, and the ch characters all worked well in the story. It left me with a good feeling in my heart. I give this book 5 stars and a recommendation to read.

Not your usual Christmas romance. Daughter of a Baron, Elizabeth, is also a trained nurse. She had a faux paus at a Christmas ball and since then has shunned the ton and takes solace in her charity work. When one of her patients goes missing, she is on a mission to find him and that's when she meets his nephew, Ben.

Ben's family is called "new money" - they made their fortune on selling Christmas crackers at the family confectionary. He is protective of his family, after neighbors make fun of their ways. When Beth comes to stay with them to nurse his ill uncle, he's very watchful.

It was a wonderful story of their two worlds meeting at the right time to understand each other and a sweet holiday romance.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review,

Enjoyed this Christmas Regency romance. Beth is a baron's daughter, trained and working as a nurse. When one of her patient's goes missing, she tries to locate him. Nate has spent his youth turning around his family's business. As Christmas approaches, his mother wants her brother to be found and brought home. Nate and Beth meet in their mutual quest.

His Lady Of Misteloe tells a story of a nurse who goes all out to save patients who are mostly from the military from wounds. In the streets of London, she along with a boy named, Nate try to find his uncle Ted who had been missing. For its Christmas time, Nate and his family suggest the nurse to spend time with her family, but she would not budge saying that her calendar is empty. Although i read half of the book, I like how the author brought up the nurse character as being someone who is very compassionate. It also gave me a sense of family closeness that gives us lessons to be taken or we as readers might have taken for granted.
