I have been reading this book here and there. Some of the stories keep me in suspense and others, well I have no words. I am left knowing the author is very creative.
I just reviewed Absolute Garbage, Total Nonsense, and Utter Ridiculousness by Gerald Dean Rice. #AbsoluteGarbageTotalNonsenseandUtterRidiclousness #NetGalley

I unfortunately did not like it all that much, it took me a while to read it and I liked only few passages

A very eclectic collection of short stories and poetry. Some were better than others, in my opinion. Some I just really didn't get. About a 3 for me.

Does have a lot of stories so you'll be busy reading for a while and a lot of them do have some fun writing in them but just not enough to them to constantly keep my attention.

This is the first set of short horror stories that I have read. I was expecting that there would be some hits and some misses, and this collection met my expectations. There were a few stories that I thought were underwhelming, some that confused me, and some that were genuinely spooky! A lot of the stories felt like black mirror episodes and I really enjoyed that vibe from the collection.
If you're in search of a quick read, this is a great option!

This book says it is "stories of horror, bizzaro, and stream of consciousness" as well as a new way to enjoy horror. Horror tends to be my favorite genre and I love to see new stories and new kinds of tales. However, I struggled to get into most of this book. Some stories were a bit interesting, but to me it just didn't grab me and pull me in like I hoped it would.

The title is attractive, though the stories are absolute gold, total nonsense and utter ridiculousness. In particular, I love the Branch Manager. Some stories are more creepy, but I love a good humour mixed in. And Gerald Rice does it well when he wants to.
Definitely a keeper if you are a writer of the horror genre. These are pure gold to open your mind to possibilities!

Not really horror at all. I appreciate the attempt to change the format of the style a little, but it seemed to go nowhere, fast. nothing grabbed me and kept me too interested. It was worth a shot though.

This book just didn't work for me. I wasn't a fan of the writing style and it didn't feel very "horror" to me. Might be good for others but wasn't good for me.

I had a really time getting through this book. Maybe I’m just not the target audience or possibly just the format that it’s currently in it was really had to go from one story or poem to the next thing and switch gears for me. I don’t think I’d purchase it when it comes out but maybe in the future I’ll borrow it from a library and give it another shot.

This is a very unique book. I'm glad I took a look at it but must admit that it is not my cup of tea. A great read if you're wanting something different and are willing to set aside your own criticism.

This was an incredibly unique way to read horror. I really enjoyed the style of poetry and interesting plot. I would say that anyone who is looking for a new way to take in horror stories to give this one a try.

Absolute Garbage, Total Nonsense, and Utter Ridiculousness by Gerald Dean Rice was received directly from the publisher and I chose to review it. I had never read this author before, but his sense of uniqueness will have me coming back for more, though poetry is not for me. I suggest everyone who is bored with mainstream "horror" give this author a read, the price is right and you will most likely enjoy yourself.

These stories weren't very scary and I didn't find them to be particularly interesting. However, I enjoyed the poetry.
