"George Soros", edited by Peter L W Osnos is very comprehensive and unbiased. If you are interested in Mr. Soros, get this book.

A different sort of biography and I think one that works well for the subject. The book is a series of essays from people who know various aspects of his life well.

The book is "George Soros: A Life In Full". It is edited by Peter L. W. Osnos and published by the Harvard Business Review Press. It is scheduled for publication on March 8. I thank Netgalley for the chance to read it before publication.

I did not know that much about George Soros. I knew he was a Hungarian who had made a large fortune in business and contributed to several causes approved of by Democrats which made him unpopular with Republicans but not much more.

Now I know much more about how George Soros has been successful in several aspects of life that would normally be considered distinct. From life as a child in pre-World War 2 Hungary, to the Nazi occupation during the war, to life as a refugee in England after the war, he became a very successful businessman, investor, and financial speculator.

He made a fortune but that wasn’t enough. He decided he should spend his money supporting what he believed to be right. Now he is known by the general public more for his philanthropy. But I do not think much of the public is aware of the many issues he is involved with or the extend of his giving.

Many (including me) believe he has chosen wisely. Other disagree with his choices. I think people of both opinions would benefit by reading this book.

I would like to learn more and have requested his 2019 book" In defense of open society" from our county library.

An interesting, well researched, and well written biography of a man who is at the center of the contemporary history. A benefactor for some, a very bad guy for others.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
