I loved this read, I heard great things about it and they are certainly true. I warmed to Judith, I thought she sounded like a lovely lady, she has a lovely life being able to do what she wants when she wants. When she witnesses something horrific, the police don't believe her so with the help of a couple of friends, she sets out to investigate themselves. It is a quirky story but a really good one, it made me want to become Judith's friend and help her out on her quest. I read the whole book in a day and didn't want to put it down. It was such a good murder mystery story. I look forward to the next book.

I really enjoyed this story, Despite multiple murders, it was light hearted and a fun read while still digging into the mystery. I figured out the ending early on but still enjoyed the story as it was going. The characters were able to get away with a lot as they were elderly which was really entertaining.

What a wonderful mystery. It kept me guessing until the end but I figured it out about thr same time as the main character Judith. The two other amateur sleuths Suzie and Becks are great characters and I really enjoyed how the friendship between the three developed as the mystery progressed. The back and forth between Judith and Tanika, the police detective, was a lot more enjoyable then other "cozy" mysteries I have read.

I highly recommend the book and look forward to the next book in the series.

This was exactly the type of book I was craving, and I found it thoroughly satisfying. I had not read the author's previous books (but will now), and I was delighted to get the opportunity to preview this book thanks to Netgalley. The premise reminded me of Richard Osman's wonderful Thursday Murder Club books, and it did not disappoint. The characters were fun and clever, some of the scenarios were far-fetched, but it all made for an enjoyable read. I highly recommend this book and look forward to future books.

I got hooked on this one right from the very start. Then I started to lose interest a little and by the very end I was skimming the pages, just wanting it to finish! The jeopardy ending (eg that tree!) was just too farcical for me and so I am not sure I would bother to continue with the series.

What I did really enjoy was imagining and remembering Marlow and the Thames setting. As I live in the very different environment of Japan, I crave things which remind me of home. I think if this had been a tv programme, I would probably have gladly taken it with a bigger pinch of salt!

Thank you Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley.

Introducing The Marlow Murder Club....
The first in a new series of mysteries and introducing The Marlow Murder Club and the unflappable, happy in her own skin Judith Potts. When Judith witnesses a brutal murder and with the police unbelieving, the Club is born with the help of some additional would be amateur sleuths. Worryingly, when another body appears, the Club realise that they may be chasing a serial killer. From the author of the wonderful Death In Paradise series of mysteries (all first class reads), comes this wholly entertaining, engaging and thoroughly enjoyable romp with a glorious protagonist and a colourful cast of supporting characters. Wonderful escapism.

The Marlow Murder Club by Robert Thorogood is a great cozy, murder/mystery that involves a group of unlikely yet successful amateur sleuths.

I really enjoyed this “classic” murder/mystery that is composed of a trio of sleuths that kept me entertained, chuckling, and guessing throughout. These three women, that are unconventional and different yet are likable and each have their own unique strengths to bring to the table, make for a great team. We get to learn about Judith, Suzie, and Becks individually and also as part of the investigative team as they work their way through a major mystery. The stakes increase when another murder occurs and the age old question of, Can the sleuths find the culprit, solve the crime, and stay safe in the process?, occurs. I really enjoyed being able to go along for the ride.

I hope that this can be turned into a series. I loved it.

This was such a fun, entertaining cozy mystery. Judith, a 77 year old cross word maker is swimming naked in the river when she hears a gun shot from her neighbor’s house. The police gives no heed to her complaints, so she sets out to solve the mystery for herself and on the way, meets Suzie the dog Walker and Becks the Vicar’s wife.
All three women have been overlooked for the most part and how they pool together to solve the crime and in that process overcome their personal issues form the rest of the story. I loved loved loved all three crazy, fantastic, badass, feisty ladies. Some of their antics hd in me in splits laughing and I thoroughly enjoyed the book even with the predictable plot line. Would definitely recommend the book for those looking for a fun, cozy mystery to curl upto.
