What a fascinating story! I have been intrigued by The Lost Colony since my first visit to the Outer Banks and was excited to read a new take on the story of the colonists.

This is a very interesting story, the characters are incredible. It is a bit hard to follow some of the native words, and tribes - who's who. And there is a whole lot of scripture quotes. The storyline with Sees Far is really intriguing - I enjoyed watching his character develop. Elinor is such a strong character - her journey, childbirth, her father leaving them to return to England (and his story told here was really interesting, too!), her husband, etc - I enjoyed her story!

I have long been fascinated with the Lost Colony so naturally I was thrilled to read Author Shannon McNear's Elinor! Her impeccable research and skillful writing carry the reader off to 1587 in the new world. She pens an authentic and compelling "what if" story! I thoroughly enjoyed this tale of bravery, courage, love, hardship, loss, and all the struggles that came with living in this new land.

I highly recommend Elinor for lovers of historical fiction!
