A unique story line that is sure to hook the reader and keep them flipping those pages to see how this couple think they will get away with their crimes. Trauma sets off the crimes but the investigation is getting closer and closer with every death. A great thriller.

When college sweethearts Jim Briggs and Helen Williams broke up to pursue careers in other parts of the country, they had no idea a tragedy would reunite them around a common cause six years later in Portland, Oregon where Briggs operated a mobile canine care service.

Shortly after Helen loses her husband in a freak accident and is then attacked and left for dead by a group of homeless predators, she shows up on Briggs’ doorstep to take a job managing his pet crematory. Helen’s arrival coincides with Briggs’ own shock over witnessing a homeless woman flipping out in a drug overdose meltdown, begging, “God please take me.”

While Briggs struggles with an inner dark voice urging him to put down the homeless meth addict like a stray dog, Williams goes on a murderous rampage for revenge while sleeping with the detective assigned to solve the case.

Good book! This book was filled with suspense, action, intrigue, and lots of gripping scenes.

Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and found myself second guessing every thought I had continuously.
Can't wait to read what the author brings out next.
Recommend reading.

I was provided an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher. This is my own honest voluntary review.

A complex tale of good vs. evil, right vs, wrong, and the complexity of blurring the lines. A controversial question that we do not tolerate 0ur beloved pets to suffer (as it should be) while we have no problem allowing humans to suffer even if they want a release - and once we start making those decisions, then who is right and wrong and what happens when it is found out.

Definitely not working with happy people here, so if you’re look into for a feel-good story, look elsewhere. But if you’re looking thrills, tension, and people with issues, this book will work for you.
