Is there a topic Erica Katz can't cover with skill?! I was introduced to her via her last book The Boys Club and barely read the description of Fake when I hit request. I was absolutely not disappointed! Fake is an intense look at the role of copies in the art world and the lengths collectors could go to skip out on the taxes owed on such large sales....or to double their profits under the radar. Excellent read!

Emma planned to be an artist but instead she is making copies of art for museums and collectors. One collector in particular, Leonard Sobetsky, has taken an interest in her and changes her world. He gets her a job at an art gallery and commissions her to paint all of his copies. As she becomes a part of Lenny's world her influence in the art world on Instagram skyrockets. But what happens to Instagram influence when the truth is revealed? Is there a price to participating in Lenny's art world?

Erica Katz has don it again! She has followed up her amazing debut, Boys' Club, with another 5 star success.

Emma is a failed artist that now makes a living painting high quality copies of incredibly rare works of million dollar art. These dupes hang on the walls of wealthy clients so their investments can stay tucked away under lock and key. When Emma get caught up in the secret world of the luxury art market her safe and quiet existence starts to crack. After she's allowed a peak behind the curtain she starts to realize more about this world is fake than just her forgeries.
I absolutely loved this book! I know nothing about the luxury art world, but I couldn't put this one down. I thought there was an excellent balance of glitz and glamour with a touch of mystery and intrigue. Once the pieces started falling together I was glued to the pages until I finished.
