The View from Coral Cove is the story of Maya Reynolds. After losing her last remainaing family member and being dumped by her fiance, Maya moves home to the coastal North Carolina town where she grew up. She has inherited her great-aunt's toy store, and plans to juggle the store and writing romance novels. She is surprised to meet handsome veterinarian, Brody Tanner and his young daughter Ashlyn, when a kitten from their cat rescue group literally lands in her lap. There are more surprises ahead for her in this charming novel about starting over.

I wanted to read this novel because it sounded like a good beach read, and the small toy store setting sounded appealing and unique.

This is a charming book. Maya is a sympathetic (if sometimes overly impetuous!) protagonist and Brody is a great book boyfriend. I enjoyed watching their romance develop slowly, and seeing Maya's friendship with his young daughter as well -- a very sweet element of the story.

The setting is delightful. I loved the town of Coral Cove and could just picture the cute little toy store with the apartment just upstairs. It was a fun place to spend a couple of reading days.

I recommend The View from Coral Cove for fans of beach reads, and especially for anyone who enjoys a southern coastal setting. It's a sweet just waiting to be a Hallmark movie story!

Amy Clipston has a way with words. I have been a fan of hers for years, but this is the second contemporary romance I've read of hers. I can't get enough. The View from Coral Cove was just the beachy romance I needed. I laughed, became emotional, and talked back to the book. I even tossed it aside when I became angry at a certain turn of events (you have to read it to find out). I love it when I can become this enamored with a story and those within.

I usually read Amy’s books when she writes about the Amish, so this was a change of pace for for me. What a cozy setting on an ocean coastline for a good book filled with emotion and romance. The characters each had their own stories and issues that they had to deal with. I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more of her books.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest opinion and review.

I could not put this book down anytime I had to I tried to hurry back to it, it was so good. The author has a way of making you feel like you are catching up with friends with this book. I loved Ashlyn she was so fun to read about she was a pistol and I feel totally helped make the story what it was. I really liked Maya and Brody each had baggage they had to deal with but each was after two things healing and love. I loved how each page the author draws you in and throws in a twist that while you know something is up you are happy with the way things turn. I loved that this book was a good clean read and that it would be suitable for all ages. I could not recommend this book more!!!

Maya Reynolds is going home. The toy store that her aunt ran was her place of refugee. It was her mom, Aunt CeCe and her. Now that her aunt has passed on, the Toy Chest Store is all hers. Fiancee has left her, she is having a hard time writing her next book and the store has been losing business. Enter a runaway calico cat and everything changes. Handsome veterinarian Dr. Brody Tanner and his daughter Ashlyn are on the trail. From the moment their eyes meet, there was a spark. These two are so damaged by love that they've crawled into themselves and don't want to let anyone in. Coral Cove with it's beautiful beaches and stunning sunrise and sunsets are just what these two need. Ashlyn steals the show.

I have read a few other books by Amy Clipston in the past, and have enjoyed her writing... when I read the description of this one, it sounded like just the kind of sweet, small town romances that I tend to enjoy so I was excited to read it and had high hopes. While it was certainly an enjoyable read, I did find it fell a little short of my expectations and certainly not one of my favorites from the author. I didn't not like, I just felt like I could have enjoyed it more.

From the beginning, it started off strong for me. I enjoyed Maya, Brody and Ashlyn and watching them get to know each other. There were a few times where I felt like maybe I had missed something, but I believe that was more my own distraction with things going on in real life than the story itself. Really, I actually enjoyed the story very much throughout most of it... however, when Maya's ex returned I felt like it just didn't quite connect as well It still definitely had that sweet Hallmark type of romance that I like, so I enjoyed it overall. I would give it a solid 3.5 stars, but it had the potential to be higher. If you enjoy a good romance like that too, I would certainly still recommend it.

**I received a complimentary copy for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

The View From Coral Cove, by Amy Clipston, finds five time published author Maya Reynolds returning to Coral Cove to take over her inheritance of Aunt CeCe’s toy store. With both her Mom and Aunt CeCe gone, and knowing nothing about the father that left before her birth, Maya is now alone except for a few friends.

When Maya first arrives and is exploring the toy store, leaving the back door open, she is found by first a Calico cat, then young Ashlyn Tanner, who is searching for the cat, then her Dad, veterinarian Brody Tanner. They had been at a cat adoption event across the street when the Calico wandered off, but she had sought a new home on her own.

As Maya settles in to her new life operating the business and settling in the apartment upstairs, she realizes the store is barely breaking even and needs a plan for improvement. It is Ashlyn who suggest tea parties and Maya takes the idea and turns it into a party space, improving her bottom line. In spending time with Ashlyn and Brody a great friendship is formed, opening doors for them all.

This is a lovely story with beautifully flawed characters in a beautiful setting. I would say more about the story but that would be a spoiler for this beautiful tale of finding oneself, your people, and a loving future. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

The View from Coral Cove by Amy Clipston takes us to Coral Cove, North Carolina where Maya Reynolds has relocated. Her favorite memories are the summers she spent with her Aunt CeCe. Her great-aunt has just passed away leaving her toy store to Maya. Maya, a novelist, can work from anywhere. It is a good time for a fresh start since her fiancé broke up with her and has moved to England. Maya is in the Barbie aisle when a kitten rushes in and jumps in her lap purring away. A little girl soon follows along with her handsome veterinarian father. Eight-year-old Ashlyn Tanner convinces Maya to adopt the calico kitten. Brody is attracted to Maya, but he is determined to be a good father and keep his focus on his daughter. Maya is attracted to Brody, but she is afraid of getting her heart broken again. Maya has writers block and a looming deadline. She is going through an old photo album when Maya discovers a letter from her Aunt CeCe. Maya has always wondered about her father, but it was something her mother did not wish to discuss. In the letter, her great-aunt reveals the truth. It sends Maya on a search for her father. It is going to be an eventful summer in Coral Cove. The View from Coral Cove is a charming tale about new beginning, healing, friendship, trust, and love. I thought The View from Coral Cove was well-written with developed, realistic characters. Amy Clipston provided beautiful descriptions of Coral Cove. I could envision the beach town with its quaint shops and friendly residents. I would love to live in Brody’s home with its beautiful beach views. I thought the dialogue was realistic. My favorite character was Ashlyn. She is a scene stealer. Ashlyn is a precocious little girl. Brody and Ashlyn run a cat rescue. They regularly hold cat adoption events with plenty of help from Ashlyn (who can resist). The romance is the slow burn type since both parties have had their hearts broken and are scared to trust their hearts to someone. I enjoyed watching the characters develop as the story progressed. Maya has insecurities because she was told that her father did not want her. I thought the author handled this issue very well. The View from Coral Cove is a sweet, wholesome romance. This book would make a great movie (toy store owner, handsome vet with cute little girl, a lovable kitten, and a beach town). The View from Coral Cove is the perfect novel to read while lounging on the beach or by the pool. I loved the epilogue that nicely wrapped up the story. The View from Coral Cove will leave you with a smile on your face. The View from Coral Cove is a heartwarming tale with a beautiful beach, a charming child, an attractive veterinarian, an enchanting toy shop, an obstructed writer, and a matchmaking cat.

Amy Clipston has given us another winner. I love how her books are written. They draw the reader into her world. Coral Cove, North Carolina is just a little town with a big heart. When her engagement falls through and her last remaining relative passes on, Maya Reynolds moves to Coral Cove to keep her Aunt's toy store alive. A chance meeting with Ashlyn Tanner and her dad Brody, brings joy and surprises to Maya's life. A looming deadline and a long held secret weigh heavy on her mind. Will she find what she lost? Will her new career help with her old one? Will she find love and family again? I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.

"The View from Coral Cove" by Amy Clipston

My Assessment:

'The View from Coral Cove' was a sweet romantic read that one will find hard to put down until the end. The read was about 'family, friendship, forgiveness, reconciliation, trust and new love' that will have you enjoying the read with some awesome characters from the story. The heroine has been through a lot after losing her mother and great aunt; she has moved to Coral Cove after her ex-boyfriend Kyle has called off the wedding. However, Maya meets some beautiful people like Ashlyn and her father Brody, all due to an energetic kitten as she has now run her great aunt Cece's toy store in Coral Cove.

The story moves along quite nicely as Maya finds a letter that leads her to the father that she has always wanted in her life. Why did her mom and aunt not tell Maya about him? As things seem to be going well for Maya, her interest in Brody becomes evident. But will Brody have the same feelings for Maya? What had happened in Brody's life that kept him not wanting to move too fast in a relationship? What will happen when Maya's ex comes back into the picture?

The questions and more will be answered after the reader picks up "The View from Coral Cove," as this author tells a captivating story.

Thank you, Netgalley and Thomas Nelson, for allowing me to read this book for an honest review.

If you're looking for a sweet, clean beach read this would be the book for you. The story is set in a small town that Maya has been going to for summers most of her life and after great-aunt's death, she is left CeCe's Toy Store. What she isn't expecting is to fall in love with the local vet, Dr Brody Tanner, and his daughter, Ashlyn. This story has the small-town community feel, interesting characters, and will take you on an emotional journey as both Maya and Brody work through their growing feelings for each other.

I have been a fan of this author for many years. Maya's great aunt has passed away and she inherits her toy store. Here in her new setting she adopts a kitty, meets a veterinarian, Brody and his daughter Ashlyn. As she goes through her aunt's belongings, she finds the secret withheld from her for her entire life.
The story is a sweet romance and the theme of overcoming some of our past life events, and moving on with life, love and happiness. The location is a beautiful and cozy town along the coast with enjoyable characters. The story was a good read and tells a sweet tale.

The View from Coral Cove by Amy Clipston is a sweet romance story. Maya, a writer, has just inherited a toy store from her aunt and moved to Coral Cove to run the store. A sweet story for most of the book. I beach town setting in NC and that Maya is an author. Throw in a hunky vet, a precocious kid and a kitty and there’s the perfect blend for happily ever after. Brody is cautious about getting involved and Maya is telling from being dumped.
Maya acted very immature toward the end of the book. She’s in a rush to get married so she makes a stupid Decision. The ending turned out ok, but I thought that move was out of character and it seemed thrown together to rush to a conclusion,

Even though I have enjoyed Amy Clipton's Amish stories, I didn't care for this book. I found myself skimming the book about a third of the way into the book. It's a clean romance, but I was disappointed that it wasn't a Christian romance. I didn't connect with either Maya or Brody. After being dumped by her fiancé, Maya seems obsessed with starting a family before she was thirty. Brody is afraid of commitment and being hurt. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntarily given review.

This is a sweet, clean romance that I really enjoyed!

Maya, who recently lost her fiance and her great-Aunt, returns to Coral Cove, a place of many happy memories and her great-Aunt's toy store, which she left to Maya. Determined to honor her great-Aunt's memory by keeping the store going, Maya gets right into it.

A chance meeting due to a runaway kitten introduces Maya to Dr. Brody Tanner and his 8 y/o daughter, Ashlyn. There is an attraction there, but Maya and Brody remain friends. The three share frequent meals, do fun things together and help each other out. Ashlyn even helps Maya find a way to make the short more profitable!

I don't write spoilers, so I won't share with you whether Maya and Brody find their way to a forever relationship. It is an easy read, enjoyable and sweet, if you like romances of that type, this is the book for you!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

This was a really cute story! It was very emotional as we deal with loss, grief and heartbreak, but it definitely had sweet moments as well. The main characters Maya movies to Coral Cove, NC to start fresh and there she makes some choices and meets some new people that will inevitably change her life. This is a sweet, clean romance - perfect for a beach read! Overall, this is a charming, wholesome study that fans of single parent stories, second chances, forgiveness, family and friendship will definitely enjoy.

Single parent romances never hit that sweet spot for me but Amy Clipston has changed my mind because wooow what a read.

The book follows heartbroken and grieving Maya who decides to start afresh in Coral Cove, North Carolina to run her great-aunt's toy store. And not forgetting that Maya is a romance writer in need of a romance story if I may say myself. Her life is shaken up when an adorable eight-year-old convinces her to adopt a kitten *sigh* and of course this girl's father is a VET. I was touched deeply following these two people find their way to each other and the healing they needed. Such a beautiful and heartwarming story.

This is an emotional story with likable, realistic characters that I was pulling for. Maya Reynolds' family included her mother and great-aunt. She lost her mom a few years ago and now her aunt. As a romance writer, she can live anywhere so she moved from Charlotte to Coral Cove on the coast to run her aunt's toy store. Her fiancé just broke up with her and her writing has stopped. She has always felt unwanted by a father whom she has never met. Her mom just said he left them. Now, she has discovered a letter from her aunt explaining about him. Could she find him with the little information she has? All she has ever wanted was a family.
Brody Tanner is a local veterinarian with a delightful daughter, Ashlyn. They met Maya when a rescue kitten escapes a rescue cat adoption event and winds up in the toy store. Brody and Maya are attracted to each other, but both have been hurt by past relationships. Plus, Brody's main focus in Ashlyn. However, Brody and Maya agree to be friends and become very close.
Maya is on an emotional roller coaster as she creates a new life running the toy store while trying to find her father, her future, and believe that she is lovable. Brody is afraid of relationships but is he willing to pass on a possible relationship with Maya. Great read for those who love romance fiction.
