Fun and cute small-town romance, I found the characters incredibly likeable, well written story and loved the chemistry between our Leading duo.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This story didn't work for me. I felt we are thrown into the story with not much backstory. The characters are not that likable and act immature.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for giving me this eArc to review.

This book was so boring. I couldn't finish it because it felt like a chore. Usually I like small-town romance books but this just was not for me as I found the characters incredibly boring and also annoying.

This was another great story about the one of the Kincaid brothers. Will Kincaid is the high school principal and he and Catie like each other but seem to be oil and water whenever they are together. Will is a part of search and rescue and Catie is a trainee. They start to spend more time together and get to know each other more. Catie has all kinds of walls up and Will keeps trying to figure out how to reach her.

As someone who LOVES the "enemies to lovers" trope this hit the spot, but this book didn't do it quite for me. I felt like Will and Catie lacked chemistry which made it difficult for me to finish this book within a week. I felt as if there were many parts that had me questioning the characters (for example, the grand gesture done by the MMC).

This book is excellently written and described but I just couldn't get into it when reading. I normally like this genre however it is not my favourite. For someone who loves this genre, you would love this book without a doubt.

4 Stars for this enemies-to-lovers romance!

I love Will and Catie and was rooting for their happily-ever-after. Ms. York has a way with making you feel that these characters are real people because the banter is realistic and the situations are normal everyday things that happen. This is a really sweet, funny and steamy romance, but I just wanted more ... I like the odd twist or turn. "Wild at Heart" is a great addition to the series and I can't wait for Seth's book next!

Will is the 2nd oldest Kincaid brother and is the school's principal along with a member of the SAR Team. He's in his late 30s and thought he'd be married with kids by now, but he just hasn't found "the one". Catie grew up in Pine Harbour and couldn't wait to leave, but years later she moves back searching for a sense of community. She owns her own hair salon along with being a real estate agent. She decides she wants to do more and joins the SAR Team, even though her nemesis (Will Kincaid) is on the team. As the training goes on, they realize there is more to each other and they can't remember why they don't like each other. And once again that saving takes form ... there's a fine line between love and hate.

I'm not exactly sold on this one as I never understood the animosity between the characters.
The story has Yorks usual writing style with characters that are good and with relationship development.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book received from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The chemistry between Will and Catie felt organic and passionate. Catie is a woman with an agenda and not a lot of free time, always bouncing to the next community service while Will is a well spoken principle who despises everything Catie does. This small town romance is definitely worth the read.

This is my first time reading this author and I loved this story so much. I really could not put the story down and I really enjoyed it. Its a bit of enemies to lovers story with two people who live in the same small town and share friends.

My only issue with the story was that I felt I missed seeing them date. One minute they hated each other and the next they were in love. But at no time did they really date. I read romance books for the romances so these two don't get together until just the end and at times, how they don't get together sorta frustrated me. Not sure if this is the authors writing style or just this book but at times I thought about skipping ahead to just get to the romance part.

That said I loved Will and Caitie. They both like each other and think the other hates them, and so they are always bickering or getting hurt. When Will finally tries to make things better I liked howthey end up developing their relationship. This book was light on romance but I felt it was more chick lite. I enjoyed it a lot but would have prefferred more romance.

Love the simplistic cover! There’s always a bit of action going on in Zoe’s books and this one was a fun one.

What did I like? Catie and Will were snarky at first in an enemies to lovers type read. Will being the proverbial stick in the mud and Catie being in love with him since high school.

Would I recommend or buy? The book was really angsty at first but then the attraction made itself known. I was kind of bored because I didn’t really know all the characters and the book stars the town issues more than the characters. This was a simple romance… three and a half stars.

Wild at Heart is the third book in the Kincaids of Pine Harbour series by Zoe York, whose work I have recently discovered. I read it as a stand-alone and had no trouble following along although now, I really want to read the previous books. It was a slow-burn romance that was well written and easy to read. I loved meeting the large boisterous Kincaid family and all the characters from Pine Harbour.
Catie Berton moved back to Pine Harbour after her mother died. She never understood why her mom moved them there when she was a child especially when the people spread awful rumors about her. She had a crush on Will when she was fourteen years old and even though she found him to be irritating she cannot help but crush on him still. Catie loved Pine Harbour and wanted to help improve the small town, so she was on several committees. When she heard the search and rescue team needed females for their group, she was happy to volunteer.
School Principal Will Kincaid was liked by everyone in Pine Harbour except Catie. He is not sure why he has such a reaction to her but after she turned down his offer to be part of the bachelor auction for her fundraiser, he can’t help himself. Avoiding each other in the small town was hard but when she joins the search and rescue team, he is forced to work with her as part of the team.

I loved all the witty banter between Will and Catie and watching them slowly come to really know each other. Their slow-burn romance grew as their friendship and understanding of each other grew. This was truly a wonderful story, and I cannot wait to read the previous books in the series.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Definitely recommend giving this one a read. It's a cute, enemies to lovers romance between Will and Catie. They both have some things to deal with to make their connection evolve into something more and their are tons of great side characters included in their story which is something I always love.

A classic enemies to lovers romance. Two bossy, type-A personalities clash and fall in love. Catie, the out-of-towner, vs. Will, the charming, beloved, school principal. Catie is still seen as an outsider, despite being a business owner in the town for three years. And Will has no idea her mother died three years ago, even though the town is supposed to be the quintessential "small town" where everyone is in each other's business. There was a little spark missing for me between the two, and Catie actually was kind of annoying with how stuck up she could be. I loved the Search and Rescue aspect and seeing the training and missions. The pacing was fine, just slightly unrealistic. It went from slow burn to full on in a way that didn't fit their romance. Catie had a pretty off-putting attitude, which made Will's reactions seem justifiable. I get that she was supposed to be the strong, independent, take no BS gal but it was written the wrong way. There is the classic, rude and nosy neighbor who hated Catie's mother for being an unwed single mom. A couple of steamy scenes round it all out. A pretty typical love story, good but not fantastic. Many romance readers will enjoy it.

This is a great book. The two main characters are Cathie and Will. Cutie is a real estate agent and hairdresser, will is a principal. They have been at each other for a while. They are bossy and think they are right. Will can’t keep thinking about Cait. They are both on the rescue group, they go out trying to find missing kids or hikers. Will decides to take it slow and show Cathie how much he loves her. Finally the walls around Cathie’s heart start coming down, she realizes she loves Will.

While i really enjoyed the previous books in this series, I had difficulty connecting with Will and Catie. I'm not sure what magic was missing. Maybe because I didn't really understand the animosity between them. While they kind of knew each other when they were younger, there wasn't an explanation as to why they were so prickly towards each other. I liked both characters as individuals but their slow burn romance dragged for me. This was not a favorite read from this author.

Wild at Heart is a small-town, ''enemies to lovers'', steamy romance about Catie, the town hairdresser and estate agent who feels like an outsider in Pine Harbour, and Will, the town sweetheart, stern principal and SaR leader.

Though it took a while for me to get sucked into the story, I'm glad I did not give up. The beginning is very slow, but I guess necessary to establish the main characters, their tumultuos relationship and their perspective. The writing style is easy and lets the story flow really well.
I loved loved loved the Search and Rescue aspect in this story and how crucial being part of the same SaR team was to Catie and Will getting to know each other better, getting past their preconceptions, lowering their guard and starting to realize their attraction for each other.

I would recommend to anyone looking for a cute, wholesome and steamy small town, enemies to lovers romance.

Normally I am a big fan of frenemies to lovers that it totally based around a misunderstanding and in large parts I liked this book, but there were a few issues.
First the good bits. I really liked Catie and Will as individual people as well as together. Will is the all around golden boy, a little uptight, but ultimately super nice and kind. Catie is more free spirited and driven, always on the go and not afraid to say what she thinks. They complemented each other really well and once they got their issues out of the way they communicated super well. This is also one of the first books I've read that actually portrays small towns life realistically. Yes, it can be super nice and comfortable and supportive but as a "stranger" you often have a super hard time. I loved that the author brought this issue up and dealt with it in a good way.
Onto the parts I didn't love as much. While I ultimately loved the book, there were still so many unresolved issues. Will and Catie brought up a lot of things with each other but I, as a reader, feel like they didn't actually work through it all. Just brining it up didn't feel like enough when it actually caused a very big rift and a lot of misunderstandings between them. I would have liked to see everything explained a bit more in depth from both perspective. The second thing is the ending. This is very much a book about the journey rather than the destination, which is why I feel like the ending was rushed. I think it would have worked better if the relationship had been shown a bit more instead of going from barely talking to super, super serious in just a couple of weeks once they committed.
Still a very cute book with good characters and deeper issues.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
