This is the second novel of Kiersten Modglin's I've read. I really enjoyed this one. There are a lot of twists and turns I wasn't expecting, and kept me really intrigued. I think the deep relationships between these characters helped to fuel the plot, and really keep the reader guessing. I had my suspicions about the who-dunnit aspect, but there were points along the way I just didn't see coming. Fun!

Our Little Secret is a twisty and dark novel, about all the secrets that are kept by the people living in a cul de sac in a small town. The story, told in multiple points of view, highlights that EVERYONE in this town has their own major secrets, and they are just trying to get through the day keeping them to themselves.

This book is dark and twisty, taking you away from what you thought the plot lines would go. It is a perfectly set up story, leading you in one direction before pulling the rug out from under you, in the best possible way. Until the very VERY end, I would not have guessed the diabolical twist that was the ending of this book!

I haven't read many Kiersten Modglin books (I believe this is only my 2nd one) and I definitely have a favorable opinion of her work. If you like dark and twisty, with surprise endings, Our Little Secret is the book for you. It has an ending that was difficult to guess, and I definitely enjoyed this book.

I listened to the audiobook, and I would also recommend this. The narrators were excellent and easy to listen to. Their accents brought a lot to the story, and I enjoyed listening to them more than most narrators.

Thank you to the author, publisher, narrators and Net Galley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Our Little Secret was my first book by author Kierston Modglin. I have been really into domestic suspense reads lately and so this one peaked my interested.

While the plot line wasn't anything mind blowing, it was an easy read that kept me entertained, and right now, that is a reading win! It had a great balance of being creepy and keeping me guessing and it made for a great end of October listen. 3.5/5 stars.

I alternated reading and listening to this on audiobook. The narration was well done and I enjoyed listening to this story in the audiobook format.

Thank you to Oranger Sky audio for my gifted review copy. As always, my thoughts and opinions are my own.

Twisty thriller/mystery! This is my first Kiersten Modglin novel, but definitely not my last! Thoroughly enjoyed this small town thriller that was told in multiple points of view. Usually I'm pretty good with guessing the "who done it?", but I had no idea with this one!! I toggled between the audio and the ebook. Highly recommend!!

This was my first read (audio)/by this author. I would have likely passed it on by except for some amazing reviews from my friends. All claiming this author is the ‘Queen of Twists.’ And there is nothing I love more than a jaw dropping twist in my thrillers! I was all in!🙋🏻‍♀️

Unfortunately it just didn’t live up to the hype for me. Perhaps if I had read the book instead of listening to the audio version?🤷🏻‍♀️.
Most of the characters were unlikable and I just couldn’t connect. But most disappointing was that I didn’t have my mind blowing twisty ending I signed up for.☹️

Because of her huge fan base I will definitely keep this author on my list and give another one of her books a chance to “Wow” me.

Thank you to NetGalley and OrangeSky Audio.

Our Little Secret… wasn’t so little after all!

A small town, a tight-knit community, a mysterious lake and a lot of secrets and lies.

Pretty much from the start you know people are hiding something, something terrible.

But what? Who?

The tagline said “Someone’s missing. Someone’s dead. Everyone is lying.” … and that was completely true.

This book kept me guessing until the very end, because just when I thought ‘ok, now we know everything’… think again! Another plot twist comes along that you just didn’t see coming.

Told from multiple character’s POVs, you just never know when they’re telling the truth, to others and even to themselves.
And just what secrets are they hiding or how far they’re willing to go to protect those secrets and the people involved.

How can you trust anyone around you, from family to friends to neighbors, when everyone is lying, keeping secrets and acting suspicious?

It was fast paced, gripping and with shocking twist after shocking twist.

I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a mystery that just keeps on delivering thrills until the very end.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for providing me with an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Now, I will say that going into reading Our Little Secret, I was skeptical. I have read A LOT of Kiersten Modglin's books and they are hit or miss for me. This one though, might be the best one of all. I loved the narration and writing style true to Modglin's typical style. This was a joy to listen to and was so creepy and spooky in a great way! It lightened up my commutes to work for a week and I am so glad I gave it a listen!

Thank you to @netgalley for the early audio copy of this fun thriller

After bingeing The Arrangement last month, I knew Modglin would become a favorite for fun popcorn thrillers. She keeps things dark and twisty. This story never let up, every page was subtling adding to this mystery and by the end I was blown away on how it was all weaved together. I will definitely read more by Modglin- she keeps the pages turning

I really enjoyed the audio as well. The narrator really brought this story to life and kept the suspense up. Sometimes things can get convoluted with so many characters but this was very well executed.

“What if we’re all monsters , deep down, after all?” Our Little Secret by Kiersten Modglin

3.75 stars. Maybe 4. This was fun to listen to.

A car is reported to have crashed in the lake in the little town where this book is set. And everybody gets nervous about the potential search of the lake. Turns out everybody had secrets that are hidden in that lake. And when all is revealed….spells trouble for them all.

It’s a how well do you really know your friends and neighbors kind of story. Love that all the characters had secrets that they needed to keep hidden in the lake.

I liked it. Was enjoying it. But then, it felt like it ended rather abruptly. I still had some questions, saw some loose ends. So that was a bit of a disappointment. But still, the idea that a lot of the secrets of the town was deep in the lake…really really interesting.

Thank you OrangeSky Audio for this listening copy. I enjoyed it.

This book was extremely confusing to follow. I did not love the plot and felt that the narrator made it difficult to enjoy. Definitely did not pull me in at any point.

This is a very strong mystery. Everyone has secrets, everyone is hiding something, all are lying… and still … you won’t see the twisted ending coming. Extremely satisfying story, but an immoral one.

I listen to the audiobook which features a set of narrators, one male Wyatt Baker and one female Mandy Kaplan, bringing to life the numerous characters of this fiction. If anything I’d note that Mandy Kaplan has a more difficult time eroding a very Southern accent. I personally found Wyatt Baker rendition more in tune with the atmosphere of the situations he was enacting.

This was my first Kriesten Modglin read and I really enjoyed her writing style and the multiple POV alternating chapters. Most definitely a page turner.
I would highly recommend this book.

Many Thanks to OrangeSky Audio and to Kiersten Modglin for this great tale.

I listened to the audio book, and found it a little cheesy. There are four different voices depending on the chapter and it took a minute before I finally figured out who was talking and which story line went with who. It was predicable for the most part. The ending was good though and surprised me. Overall, it was decent and I'm glad I listened and not actually read. I would not buy this book for my personal library but would watch a show/movie if it were made.

I really wanted to try this book but the audio was taken down before I could listen to it. I hope to get the kindle version.

A Tightly Woven Web….
Bad things don’t happen in Carson Glen. Or do they? A tightly woven web of secrets and lies await in this well done psychological suspense with solid and well nuanced narration. Packed with atmosphere and tension, this one may well keep you guessing until the very end.

This book was a page turner from beginning to end. Things are not what they seem and will have you guessing until the end. Someone goes missing in a super tight knit town. And then the secrets start to come out. Is everyone safe. Was it one of them? Will another one of them go missing? I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is a great audiobook I enjoyed it. I thought the narrators were really good. The book was full of twists and turns to keep the reader on the edge of their seat. I just didn't feel a real connection to this book. There was a great air of mystery and a good sense of atmosphere. I connected with certain characters but not with others. There was plenty going on in the story and lots to try and work out. As the characters had plenty of secrets and trying to work them out at times got complex for me . I became a little confused at times of the relevance to the crimes. It was a little loose at times. The twist at the end was great. With so many secrets coming to light at the end trying to work out connections and why characters did what they did had me confused. Im sure this book would suit many crime/mystery book lovers. Also those that love multiple secrets to work out. I guess it just wasn't for me. Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read this book for review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kiersten Modglin for this audio-ARC in exchange for my honest feedback and review.

Stephanie is a hard working mother whose husband has gone missing. Michelle is a sheriffs wife who only wants to protect her daughter. Enzo is a cop who has lost his wife and now his best friend is missing. Caroline is a teenager whose life is only beginning. What these people have in common is they reside in Cason Glen. A quiet town where strange things have been happening. Everyone seems to have a secret. Everyone has a reason to hide their secrets. When one secret starts to come out all will be revealed.

I am a huge fan of Kiersten Modglin so I was thrilled to receive this ARC. I completely enjoyed every second of it. I do however dislike the narrator of the audiobook. She was good and had great emotion but her southern accent was horrible. As a southern myself I hate fake southern accents they all seem very cheesy to me. However, this story was great! I was really intrigued from the very beginning. This book has seemed to bring me out of my current reading slump. If you have ever read a Kiersten book make sure you do not miss this one!

I really enjoyed this audiobook! Modglin is the queen of plot twists!! You cannot trust anyone and I definitely never see any of the twists coming. I also found it quite easy to keep track of the different characters early on even with the jumps in viewpoints, which is a rarity! This book was a rollercoaster and I loved it!

Huge thanks to Bookouture & NetGalley for this gifted audiobook copy in exchange for an honest review!
