This was a great fast-paced murder myster/thriller. I liked the different POV chapters from many different characters. It kept me constantly guessing and I didn't see the ending coming! I will definitely look for more books by this author. The narrator also did a good job and it was entertaining to listen to. I received a free copy of this audiobook from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Our Little Secret by Kiersten Modglin was quite the crazy, wild, ride. Cason Glen is full of interesting characters and tons of secrets. At the center of all of this craziness is Stephanie. Her husband is missing, presumed run off or dead. One of my problems was with her intolerable teenage sons. Wow-I just didn't even want to listen to any interactions with them, as they were just plain horrific.

She's secretly seeing Enzo, the town's mayor. The sheriff and his wife have their own secrets that come into play. This was a story that kept me guessing, though I didn't really care about the characters. It was interesting, but I don't think that I would rush to listen to another Kiersten Modglin novel anytime soon. It wasn't bad, but I didn't love it. The narration was good though. This book just highlights so many bad things about bad people. All in one small, secretive town. Thank goodness I don't live there.

I received an ARC ebook copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Thank you for the book!]

This one was dark and twisty and I debated between a 4 and 5 star but landed on 4 because it left me with too many creepy feelings that just didn't settle. This town/subdivision has secrets. Everyone has them and they are deadly secrets. People are missing and now bodies are turning up dead. This one kept me guessing right to the end.

Unfortunately I did not listen to this book in time before it was archived. It was a crazy month for me and I missed the archive date. I do plan to still read this one eventually! I will just have to wait to get it somewhere. I have only heard good things about this book! So I would definitely recommend it to anyone that was thinking about picking it up.

It’s OK, at first it really really draws you in the first two chapters you just can’t stop reading

And after that I just got less and less interested and kept reading other things.
Idk why. It’s starting out being a 4:45 and ending on a three

The audio is good of course as always. No narration is fantastic.
It is well written I just didn’t like it really by the middle I almost DNF it

So yeah not for me

Thank you NetGalley and Orange Sky Audio for this audiobook ARC! The story was fast paced and dramatic (possibly a little over the top at times). I really enjoyed the different voices for male and female characters; a full cast audio is always something I appreciate in an audiobook.

This audiobook would not download for me, it kept getting stuck at 70% and would never load past that. No fault to the story, it looks great and I still hope to read. it.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy.

I enjoyed listening to this story on audiobook, the narration was good and the story is an entertaining mystery with many unlikeable characters, lies, murder, and betrayal.

I have been told over and over to try one of Kiersten Modglin's books, so I was excited to see her new book available as an audiobook. The plot had me hooked from the first chapter. The book is just over 200 pages (and about 6 hours on audio) so its a great book to devour in one sitting. There are a lot of huge twists in the last third of the book. I was flying through the pages trying to keep up with reveal after reveal. It was a great payoff after the tension-building in the rest of the book. We know everyone is hiding something, but the question is who is responsible for which crimes. The characters were all pretty unlikable, so I had a hard time figuring out who to root for, also keeping in mind that anyone could be a murderer. Overall this was an addicting, quick read that I just couldn't put down. I highly recommend this for thriller-lovers needing an addition to their Fall reading lists.

Cason Glen is a small town that is seemingly perfect. That is until someone goes missing from one the town’s most exclusive neighborhoods. Of course panic then ensues among all of the neighbors. How could they just go missing? Will I be next? And then the dark side of the neighborhood starts to come to light. There are secrets that all of the neighbors are holding and at what length will they go to to keep it that way? Does anyone ever really tell the truth? One stormy night, Michelle wakes from her bed, roused and restless, by what, she isn’t sure. Her husband, Jude, their town sheriff, tells her to go back to bed until he gets a call. Stephanie has reported that she saw a car crash into the lake, a lake that holds the secrets of so many in this small town. When Jude and Enzo go to ask Stephanie about what she saw, she recants her story, much to the secret delight of both Jude and Enzo. As the story moves along, we begin to realize that everyone is hiding a secret, but some are worse than others. Only time will slowly reveal all. I loved how this book captured my attention in the first chapter, the author went right in and she did not slow down till the last sentence. I loved the characters and really enjoyed how it was written in multiple character viewpoints.

Loved the book but didn’t like the narrators of the book. And with so many different characters it was very hard to keep track of who was who. I think if I would have read this book I would have liked it a lot better. Overall, very interesting and kept me on my toes the entire time. 3.75 stars!

This book was a wild ride! I had no idea what was going on or whodunnit! Our Little Secret takes place in a small town where everyone knows everyone's business. Cason Glen is supposed to be a safe place where nothing bad ever happens. Except now someone is missing and the citizens aren't sure who they can trust now. The cracks start to show in their seemingly perfect world and the dark truths that have been buried come to the surface. People will do anything to protect their secrets and the facade of their perfect lives. You aren't sure who to believe. Cason Glen was full of twisted webs of lies and it was wild watching everything unravel!

It’s been a while since I read a thriller, but Our Little Secret really made me fall back into the genre. There were so many turns and bits of informations given to us through out the book that I didn’t know what to expect anymore, and I certainly did not see the killer being who it was.
The narrator’s voice was audible and good to accompany the story if you like to listen while doing other things, and was difficult to pause while we learned more about the secrets of the town. And that ending? It was on the perfect moment to make us wanting more.
If you’re not into heavy horror but like the twists associated with thrillers and killers around, the book is good for you.

I was disappointed by this book. First, the essence of small town life was not communicated well. Everyone is intertwined in a small town, neighbors can’t avoid one another, and everyone would know everyone else’s business. I also figured things out about midway, but continued to hope for a twist. It had a lot of potential but fell flat for me.

Nothing bad ever happens in this town. But when one person is dead and another is missing, the town is in a state of panic. It seems like everyone is lying... When everyone you know lies, how do you know who to trust?

This was okay. I was disappointed that the twist ended up being a character we didn't really get to know throughout the story.

Predictable? Yes
Desperate Housewives vibes? Yes!
Still enjoyed every bit of it? Hell yeah!

What a rollercoaster this story was! In most of the mystery/thrillers books that I've read, or movies that I've watched, the partner is always suspish. I knew I could not trust any of the characters, but I did not expect that turn of events.

Although, there was something that I really disliked: the dialogue between the mother (Stephanie I think) and her teenager s boys. I get it, the author wanted to show how affected the teenagers were, how they are trying to deal with the pain on their own, how sometimes they might not make the great decisions, but the way they talked about women was horrible. It took the mother quite a loooong time to tell her son, hey, u might hurt someone's feelings when u talk like this, or hey, I do not like it when you talk like this about the girl you are dating. I've found the dialogue very disrespectful at some point.

Anyway, 4 stars from me. A great thriller. Great twist right at the end.

Decent nook, it took me awhile to get into it but the story does pick up and have many twists throughout.

The changing points of view with only two narrators made it difficult.

So twisted!! Thought I had it all figured out and another twist came in and threw me for a loop.

Highly recommend Kiersten Modglin books, she's a great author!

Reading Between the Wines book review #107/115 for 2021:
Rating: 4 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷
Book 🎧: Our Little Secret
Author: Kiersten Modglin
Genre: Mystery & Thrillers
RELEASED on October 05, 2021!!!

Sipping thoughts: K Mod did it again. She creates short to the point thrillers filled with twists and turns. I always think I have it figured out until she just pulls the rug out from underneath me. The story starts off a quick reveal of crime that might be found out due to a new crime. If you like books where everyone seems twisted, everyone is a liar and everyone has secrets then this is the one for you. I am getting ready to start her new one, Missing Daughter, due out November 8.

Cheers and thank you to @NetGalley, @KierstenModglinAuthor and @OrangeSkyAudio for an advanced copy of @OurLittleSecret.
